Robben Ford is excellent in this, that Telecaster tone is one of his best.
It's a '60 or '61, and he toured with his Dumble amp(!). He has to be really dedicated to tone to travel with these rare instruments.
@@SRHMusic012 60 ! I think he played that night with fender super reverb and a vibrolux (or twin maybe) in stereo ;)
He’s a WOW!
I’ve been looking for something NOT excellent from Robben Ford for a long time. He’s one in 10 million.
IMO, Robben is never one level below anybody, he is exactly at the same level as the best musicians anytime, anywhere. All these guy are incredible !
You are 100% correct. Robben is truly in his element and can play with anyone anywhere.
I saw Robben playing with Miles in Detroit. I have that concert on cassette. Robben got off.
I was at that show, unreal!
Yes!! I Agree! Love Robben!!
LOL! @@@stjepanbilic9748
Thank you. This is a brilliant tribute to Miles... sad to realize that two of the members are no longer. .
Robben Ford is king!!!
Rorobbenford
I have probably listened to this 40 times by now and find something new every time. This is truly one of the best performances ever.
You are so damn right. I compare it to nothing to nobody in Paris with Jimmy Earl, Lou Pardini etc
I found it just now. Great sound.
Yeah, it is stellar in all ways-magnificent by everyone!
Robben Ford - transmission in your head. Thank you Mr. Ford.
I've listened to this video over a dozen times. Each time it just gets better.
Well the guy blowing that horn is from Philadelphia, and B3 madman Joey De francesco is too. Here's some triv on Wallace :
Wallace Roney took lessons from Clark Terry and Dizzy Gillespie and studied with Miles Davis from 1985 until the latter's death in 1991. Wallace credits Davis as having helped to challenge and shape his creative approach to life as well as being his music instructor, mentor, and friend; he was the only trumpet player Davis personally mentored.
Wallace plays with a lot of power. Great interpretation of Miles.
I absolutely love Joey DeFrancesco.
I hear you... I do too! That guy can lay down a serious groove! I listen to his Pandora channel all the time. If you don't know about it, check it out at: Joe DeFrancesco Radio!
RIP Joey..... what a madman he was on the Hammond
Noch niemals habe ich so eine schöne Version gehört. Abseits von Fusion. Einfach nur ehrlich gespielt. Ich liebe es und will mehr davon.
Robben gives homage to this song in his awesome cut 'Good Thing'. If you want to catch Omar and Darryl on another sick disc, Scofield's 'Still Warm'.
Wow, I watched every second of this and loved it! Everyone on that stage was fabulous!
what a great guitarist. Listen to his playing for years 😊
Master Robben
Love the groove and musicianship of these guys! 💙👂👍🎸🎺🎹🎷
Rest in harmony Joey D. on organ.
Absolutely killed it great musicians Miles spirit lives
Wow. What a band. How did I miss these guys?
All the Members of the band are excellent, beautiful Interpretation.
how cool is that,
that when darryl played that first A note around @1:43, the crowd knew it was jean pierre, obviously they were a gig full of miles' music so it was expected to hear the tune at some point during the night. but still cool they they knew a song from the very first note played. awesome stuff
Saw Robben with Miles in Torino. Great concerto, great musicians. Unforgettable.
Che fortuna!

C'ero anch'io...👍
I was to ask "who is that insanely good bass player" and then realized it's Darryl Jones (guess I watch not enough more recent Stones videos, haha). I saw Miles live in 1987 with Darryl Jones on the bass. Darryl was as skinny as a fir back then ... he is an awesome bass player (Omar Hakim and Jones where in Stings first solo band I think, Bring On The Night live album etc.) Amazing band here in this video. Best guitar player on earth too, of course.
That’s is so cool that you got to see Miles. I always see the audience and wish I was at that concert
One of the bests concerts I listened lately. Thanks!
Cool how Joey picks up on Darryl's bass riff in his solo at 10:40
Brilliant performances all around! Bravo 👏
Masterful. What a groove.
Wow... simply amazing!

Sweet! Almost feel like I'm outside at a summer concert. Almost.

I'm thinkin' , this is it. Thank goodness for this video, as words cannot describe this groove. Joey D is in a trance for the first half of his solo..
Transcendent stuff.....no matter how many times I listen.

My favorite miles song bc I received the we want miles live double album as a chanukah/Christmas gift in1983. I know this is almost heresy but I think this version is possibly better than the original. Thank you for posting it.what a band!!!
