On this adventure I’m in Western Australia tracking down the sharpest lizard in the world! Covered from head to tail with spikes as sharp as a rose thorn. I’m going to put it to the test and see if it’s sharp enough to draw blood!

Imagine being a thorny devil and just being lifted by a huge, unknown creature and just hear “WOAAAAHHHH, WE JUST FOUND A HORNY DEVILLLL!!” 💀💀
💀💀💀
The village ain’t gonna believe he got abducted 😂

The Thorny Devil has always been my favorite lizard. They may be spiky, but they are just too adorable!
Agreed
Yes agreed
They look dope as hell.
They are one of the best critters we possess here in Australia. Move over Frill Necked Lizard!
An actual pokemon
The appearance was cool and all, but the way it drinks through it's feet is SO COOL.

Yeah, people really need to understand this and stop using them as a sponsor.
Thorney devils are so awesome. so happy you're in Australia especially in WA

@@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1God is also against forcing religion, the thing you're doing, because it goes against the free will he's given us. I'm not that well versed in Christianity so correct me if I'm wrong but God doesn't force religion, so why should you? If your intent isn't to push religion on people on CZcams who are just minding their own business, then it's to educate them. But why? Surely, someone who's actually interested in Christianity, or someone who is Christian, already knows this stuff. And the people who don't... Well, they probably don't feel the need to learn about Chritianity, and that's fine. Christianity is about being kind and accepting other people's beliefs. So, from me as an Atheist to you as a Christian: We may not see eye to eye but one thing's for certain, forcing people to listen to your preachings is just going to deter them from actually listening
As someone who absolutely loves lizards, this is both the coolest and cutest lizards I have ever seen!
The Thorny Devil is one of the most common lizards in the west outback of Australia but it is indeed one of the most bizarre and cute looking animal.
He’s just a lil guy
Yeah just a little guy😂
Like You like girl
he’s so cute awh i love little lizards they’re so adorable 😭💗
Little guy just chilling fr
he's on a mewing streak
That water drinking ability would be REALLY handy during flood season...
As long as it comes with filtration anyway.
The amount of effort you put into just finding a creature is praise worthy. Searching in those hidden lands of Australia is amazing facing all the dangers and hurdles. Thanks for the amazing experience. Keep on doing the good work
I was thinking where do you find this animal? The first thing that came to mind is Australia.😂
Lol
*because it is from australia*
My mum grew up playing with these little guys and she always said they one of the most unique animals she had a chance of spending time with,
This guy has no fear if it was me I would have pooped my pants 😂
😂 same
I would have peed and pooped my pants
What a beautiful lizard. I never knew such things existed in this world.
Australia is the coolest place for little lizards. This, the Bearded Dagon, the Shingleback Skink, the Frilled lizard. I want one.
I love how the lizard is just chilling out with you
His little claws are awesome.
I have a thorny devil as a pet but mine runs around a lot in his 60 gallon tank
How long have you had it as a pet? Always heard they don’t do well in captivity on anything except ants.
@@thawkxx3251unless he has potentially hundreds of ants to feed it each day they wouldn't have had it nor will they have it for long. So hopefully they're just lying, or hopefully they somehow have a lot of ants 😂
Turtle frog and thorny devil back to back? Mark you’re COOKING
I highly suggest going for a regal jumping spider and some other southeastern USA inverts when filming in the states again, since in the past y’all went reptile heavy on the region, but overall I’m liking the animals being filmed as of late :D👍
truly the embodiment of Bombastic Side-eye ❤
What a beautiful little creature, like a tiny dragon. I absolutely love it. And sad that I never heard anything about it, before this video.
The thorny devils really are an awesome breed of lizard. Hopefully one day I'll be able to get over to Australia and be able to see some out in the wild. The thorny devil is just one of the Australian reptiles I would love to see.
TEXAS might be closer . West Texas s best - more there.
@@texan2u Thorny Devils only live in Australia, you are thinking of Texas Horned Lizards, they fill the same ecological niche but are not super closely related with the horned lizards being Phrynosomatids and Thorny Devils being Agamids
@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1 just proven that you don't know how to use your brain.
Oh really? All I said is that this thorny devil looks virtually identical to my Texas Horned Toad, ""Horny Toad". I did NOT ask for scientific b.s. like it's name. They look almost identical so do NOT tell me that they're not "closely related" to the Horny Toad - hell look at them.
I'm finally back at this channel after 4 years, the videos are still goated as it was.
That's a very cool species. Can't wait to see more of Australia's reptiles you might find in the future.
That's AMAZING!
ITS SO COOL I have been watching you for a long time!
the throny devil is a massively defensive creature. Mark is very brave to encounter one.👏👏👏👏❣
ის
This lizard is the most chill lizard😊
Such a pretty lizard, Australia is a weird continent, and I love it
That's crazy, absolutely stunning
It looks so cool!
They are so amazing and beautiful!
Looks like Angurius.
one of my favorite lizards. Always thought it was awesome to watch them drink from their feet. if they soak up enough water, you can actually see turn into a ball of water above its eye and drinks it.
Huge fan of yours keep up the great videos!
I LOBE YOU IVE BEEN SUBED FOR LIKE 2 YEARS NOW THE STUFF THIS MAN DOES FOR US IS REALLY CRAZY!!!
Love it, keep it coming.
RANGO
OMG I HAVE A LIZARD NAMED RANGO!!!!
Oh, nice 🦎
he is so chill and cute!
I didnt know the thorned lizard could change color! 💛
First time seeing one of these and they look really cool
We've found heaps of these on the roads in north WA (not dead)
*i feel sorry if you stepped on any of them*
Fascinating animal. Thanks.
Very cool! Surprised it did not draw blood.
This is the cutest lizard i have seen in my life 😍
Who would think that a small cute lizard would hurt so bad?😂
I have one they don't hurt unless you squeeze them and that would be cruel.
They are the most peaceful lizard on earth unless your an ant
i love your shows can't wait for your next hope it's exiting
it really will no dout
Growing up in the WA wheatbelt we often saw these and sometimes picked them up. The thorns look sharp but never penetrated my skin.
Coolest Lizard I’ve ever heard of. Would have never known about this little fella had it not been for brave wilderness
That thing is like a real pokemon.
Thing is super chill
such i nice open zen feeling hiking the desert
these little animals have actual superpowers!
Great episode! I remember learning about this lizard almost 30 years ago and being in awe of them. I even made a sculpture in art of one. Thanks for making me feel like a kid again :)
ok i think we can agree they are so cute no matter how spikey they are... I SHALL HOLD ONE
its like trying to find a pokemon in the wild.. so cool
5:37
That's a real cheeky fly right there, innit?
It has absolutely no fear because it knows it will mess a predators day up lol
You have been doing great for this channel. It's like Peterson never left!
What happened with him?
@@stopchildabuse7932 he retired but comes back occasionally.
shut it tubby
What an exotic animal to see! I hope you're doing well after that spike.
This was always my favorite animal as a kid.
Amazing I love this 😊
At least the thorny devil stung isn't half as painful as some of your other stuff with wasps and scorpions
someone give this man a pokedex, he complete it instantly lol
This animal is definitely cool, I think that I've heard of this one before. It's funny that it was moving around. Lizards are so awesome, I like this one a lot.
Oh my gosh. He is so adorable 🥰
That might be the coolest looking living thing on the planet.
Found one once on a trip with my family out bush. He was much bigger than the lad in this video, but he was just as chill and easy going. Cause they only eat ants, their metabolism is really slow, and they don't have much aggression at all and rely mainly on their spikes and camouflage to deter potential predators.
Very beautiful lizard🐍
cool lizard dope content as usual your videos keep me coming back for more
Maybe "adapted to the environment" would be a better term than "designed for the environment" 🤷♂️.
Cool looking lizard though!
Yeah " designed for" sounds like an RC tank I put together on my workbench and put in extra sheilding to protect it from getting its electronics wet...
Didn't know Lil bro was chill like that
"I't can drink through it's feet! You can see this happening, i'm gonna see if we can demonstrate here" -pours water onto sand- "wooooooow."
I grew up in the Pilbara. I used to catch them on way to school and hide them in my desk when i was 8yrs old. They're so cute.
There's actually a couple different varieties, the yellow ones were a bit harder to find, there's also more red coloured ones.
Some were without the bump on the back of the neck
They are so chill and make great pets..
I remember a friend and I used to play "hungry hippo" and sit them both on an ant trail and see who's could eat the most on 60 seconds on my mates Casino calculator watch😂
Also reminds me of the time we had to run for our lives when we got chased by a huge Bungarra (big monitor lizard).
Come to think of it, I'm surprised I'm alive..
A few friends died back then, one stood on a stone fish where we used to swim.
the same place I used to pick up blue ringed octopus..🤦
also the same place my step dad stood on a sting ray and got speared through the ankle, was the only time I ever saw him cry..
you knew it was time to stop swimming when you saw the shark fins coming in.
My neighbour died picking up a hose and got bit on the neck by a King Brown.. I remember a few ppl got taken out by Kingys.
As a kid running bare foot through the spinifex grass chasing all sorts.. thought it was normal 😅
If your classmates saw them they would freak out
@@user-zi6ol3pq5m Yeah! They be like "What the DEVIL is that?!" And then Danboi be like "Exactly!" LOL! 🤣
Ouch.
Beautiful creature!
that is one beautiful creature.
If you happen to put out a pangolin video done as well as this, I'd be thrilled. Great presentation!
devil's like "oh look at those creatures enjoying the very thing I want them not to"
Am I the only one that thinks it is very cute??
Such good looking lizards!
My parents told me these used to be common, they would find them in the backyard in Perth, WA. Its a bit sad, I dont think they live anywhere near the city anymore, ive never seen one.
How do its predators manage to eat this thing without it tearing up their insides?
I am in love on first sight. So beautiful
beautiful creature
Very good video
When the lizard started trying to spike him n he said “I thought we had an agreement” I died 😂😂😂😂😂
Me and my brother caught one of these as kids in Arizona which is funny cause we always wanted bearded dragons from the pet store. He was just chilling in our sandbox ☠️
That was awesome I love thorny devils especially how they drink water 💧 from their spines 🤩😍😈🦎🥰
That thing looks like a real life Pokémon! 😂
Looks like a cross between a rhino and a crocodile. Which begs the question '.....how!?" 😂
Wow.....😊😊😊 it was amazing
Does the "false head" grow back after prey take up the offer, or is it a one and done defensive measure?
Coolest animal i never even knew existed.
"Rumors say it can draw blood when you try to catch it"
That's not a crazy claim. A fish can also cut you if you hold it improperly or, in my father's case like 10 years ago, it wiggles or slips out of your hand and you manage to catch it again. My dad was not happy, and he took a hammer and repeatedly bashed it in the head
how in the heck can a monitor or hawk be ok with those thorns going down their throats?
Amazing looking animal
3:59
Cute lol
Watch out for the blood from the eyes
