I am grateful. I have been trying to learn this through listening to Russell Paul's beautiful version. But i cant yet seem to get all the parts into my memory...when i take to singing it at random during the say i cant quite get anything in order. Lately though i have felt more desire to really really study this carefully and put it to my understanding. I was genuinely pleased to hear that person say that every one should learn it now. And i have often felt that while i am singing it i imagine that i am learning it for someone i haven't met yet. Someone who will be greatly loved by god when he or she hears it and it gives them hope. Thats my fantasy at least that i learn this to share it when i find my spiritual family when they need it.

Great to hear from you.Thank you. Sure, this Sri Rudram is a vedic hymn .Vedic chants are the very breath of God indeed - so how would God not love it ? Vedic mantras are vibrations that exists throughout the cosmos. It is timeless and ageless , composed by no one. These vibrations of the comsos was downloaded and transmitted by ancient sages... this is why they are known as the very breath of God... What you are chanting is the supreme..You are extremely gifted :) :) :)

I have followed what you said-- the one with a small standing bar (') above will mean *high pitch* and the one with bar below (_) as *lower pitch* and no bar means *normal pitch* (whatever pitch is natural for the person chanting it) . But as I read the word *Mamrtat* ..I saw that there is two standing bars above *a* like this (''). How to pronounce this word?! Please let me know.

The Panchakshari - Namah Shivaya is from the 8th Anuvaka of Sri Rudram ( Namakam. ) . The mention of Rudra is very prevalent in the Namakam
Chamakam has been always chanted together with Namakam. As Namakam indicates the renunciation of desires, chamakam on the other hand asks for various desires, needs and material wishes.

If you want to derive the benefits without chanting, you have to listen to it very very attentively - if you do so, it will be just as good as chanting it.

I am feeling good vibrations in the body & can feel all my chakras are activated & not only that, my agna chakra is vibrating throughtout the day. What is the significance of this? Kindly let me the reason sir please. Thank you in advance.

Please take a bath before chanting rudram because real meaning sri rudram is we are calling God in ourselves and won't in impure bodies so take a bath and put a chandan Tilak on forehead and then start to chanting it Sai Ram ._/\_

+leena parkhi Yes you can.Go slowly at your pace..Surely listening with attention and awareness is very powerful too. Once you listen to it frequently it will automatically be wired in your system. Then learning it will be like peanuts :) cheers. - How I learnt was to simply chant along the audio seeing the lyrics and after some time it just got into me. :) Vedic chants are cosmis vibrations and it is naturally present within ourselves. All we need is to awaken it :)

The video provides very great information, but it is very poorly made for the viewers. Everytime had to stop the video to read the text. There should be proper time for the texts, so that viewers can read it properly or should have provided audio for those texts written in video.
