In this video, we will do a side-by-side Square or Princess Cut diamond size comparison on the finger or hand as well as give you different price comparisons at each size. All along, giving you different tips and tricks to help you save on diamond shopping. Each Princess Cut Size in this video is compared to this 1 Carat Diamond on a hand with a size 6 finger. This 1-carat diamond at Kay Jewelers, like most Brick and Mortar jewelry stores, is about $16,200, and that is because it is very high quality. Now also, in this video, we take those diamonds and compare them to the exact same quality diamond from a website I will put in the description below this video. This 1-carat is $6,940, so you'd save over $9,000 from my link below this video. All the princess cut diamonds on the hands in this video are all an ideal cut and very high quality.
First, let's start with a .25 or 1/4-carat square diamond on the hand. Compared to a 1-carat princess-cut diamond, it is very unimpressive, and normally people don't go this low for a center stone diamond. Its main appeal is that a diamond close to this size is only $580 from the link I have below this video. You'd save almost $400 if you bought it there instead of a brick-and-mortar store.
Next, we look at a .33 or 1/3-carat princess cut diamond. Usually, this is the lowest number people who go for a center stone diamond. Now just to teach you, the carat is actually just the weight of the diamond, so remember, just because it is a higher Carat doesn't necessarily mean it visually looks bigger because the carat is just the weight. Cut will decide if it is as big as it looks. The price of this princess cut is $560 from the link below, yet from Kay, it is $1,360.00

Watching this has made me realise 0.25 carat looks really nice
I must say, 2.5 carat looks the best on her, more than that looks too much, and less than 2 carat a bit small for her finger.
How do you go about shopping for a radiant diamond or a modified cushion brilliant diamond that has a crushed ice look without busting the bank? Is it work skimping on the setting?
Must be the lighting because each size looked smaller then I normally see at these sizes and it's not like the hand model has big hands or fingers. Anyway, I love the princess cut because it shines and sparkles more than enough and since the pavilion is shorter than a round cut, therefore more weight is at the top of the stone making the top/table larger. You get more bang for your buck. A 7/8 princess cut will look just as large as a 1 ct round diamond. Ka ching Ka ching.
I recently purchased a .98 carat princess diamond. E color IF, astor ideal cut. .98 was about $2k less that the 1.01 carat stone of the same quality. It saves to be petty 😂
I’m dying for a marquise cut video! We’re buying my engagement ring in the next week or so and I’m so torn between .5-.75ct stone.
Marquise is my next video. I dont think it'll be done by then. But Marquise always has a bigger illusion to it. So .5 will seem like a bit more.
Samee!
Thanks!! This was super helpful!
I am looking at a 2 carat princess cut ring with an I-2 clarity and an H color. Comes with a wrap also that is also diamonds. They are only asking $6,000 and the retail was over $12,000 from the pictures the diamond looks really clear and white. Is this a wise purchase?
You need to give MM size if you discuss size
Exelente
