What boat would you buy out of these 3 options; Robalo R160, Scarab 195, Mako 18 LTS?
Id get the Scarab 10/10 i like it the most the design is unique
I’ll Take the robalo it’s nicer and cheaper than the rest
I was thinking of a Boston whaler , but the Robalo looks good
Yamaha > scarab for jet reliability. That said, I’d get the scarab out of those 3 choices. Best bang for the buck, can do pretty much everything with a jet boat.

How about a top 3 list of affordable under $35-40,000 do everything type boat.
For freshwater, a pontoon boat hands-down. Most forgiving to learn how to operate, easier maintenance access than any V-hull, and capable of handling dangerously shallow water for learning where the sand bars are. If you truly insist on a bass boat or bowrider, make sure it has an outboard engine. Doesn't look as cool on the water, but your wallet will thank you when the time comes for an engine overhaul.
For coastal waters, similar deal. Find a well-kept used RHIB; again for it's forgivability and ease of maintenance, and the benefits of an outboard engine still apply.

Great video! Just looked up the Scarab 195 and prices have increased drastically as of this comment. Now at 57,795 according to their site.
Robalo160 (& 180) would be my picks here. Very cool... appear high-value to lower cost ratio options without sacrificing quality and features that are important. Nice when there are boats that don't leave the economically wise needing quality running under-gunned. What would you say about boats of similar qualities that are not as open where a guy could get out of the weather and stow gear?

I have an R160 and it does everything a family of 4 would want. Highly portable and easy to tow, stores in garage, and we can go from the ocean to the lake in the sane weekend. Fantastic boat.

@valjauful we keep our boat primarily in saltwater. It handles the chop better than any boat in its class. We do saltwater fishing, lobstering, boat Beaching, lake runs, and we store it in a regular garage. We love it. Our family of 4 has had ours for 3 years, and we couldn't imagine not having it. We are in NH and regularly take it 8+ miles offshore.

Good vid, I have the 195 scarab with 300HP. went that way b/c it fit wife wants and enough for me. tho the price does start running up when you add all the packages. cushion package giving front and rear laying area for the ladies, fishing package gave use live well, fish locker, seats, rod holders, trolling motor and simrad. Wake package with tower, ski mode and ballast. So for all your possible needs it has it covered. to bad they stopped making the 195 and are focused on the bigger models, tho might go to the bigger one later.

I bought a 1996 proline with a 90 hp 2 stroke force engine for 12 grand brand new- we fished the crap out of that boat! lots of fun back in the day.
Scarab. I dig it your videos, you could make them longer with a bit more detail, your content is good and not boring. How about some non center console rigs (sporty inboard outboard). It's fresh water here in illinois and the girls like to have a bathroom of sorts.

Can you do best performance (not fishing) center consoles under $350k?. Like renegade, sunsation, etc. Boats that can go 75 mph but dont cost $1M+ like MTI and midnight express do.

Nice info thanks. I am going to buy one this month possibly 19 to 21ft. If you have info for this size please post a video. I have had plenty of boats before but all from 24 ft to 42ft. I am older so going smaller. What do you think of the Yamaha 21 FSH center counsel? Or a Key West 19?

@@charleshoover4342 in your dreams.. just the scarab is double the price. Depending of the jet engine configuration that you chokse they could be from 60k all the way up to 70k. Check your local dealer.
I got a tracker targa V-20. 20’ x 102” wide with 150 merc. For $30,000. It can handle Alaska bays and lakes. And it’s welded aluminum which is more suited for cold than fiberglass. If I lived in Florida I’d look more at boats like this video though.
What do you think of the new Bayliner Tropy Series? We're lookking at the 22 CCX. Moving to Florida and have a pretty fast Tritoon, tho it cant be used offshore. I know Bayliner doesn't make the best boats. But she has a kid on the way, and we think that boat would be great for two dogs, us and a kid. Then move up to higher end boats as we have more kids.

Thx for the info. I guess a lot of us would like to see best 30 to 33 ft fishing and sleeping over boat for the family or friends kind of walk around boats so you can fish from anywhere in the boat. However it has to be budgeted boat. Good luck 👍

Edgewater makes a good boat! The Doughtery family that owns Everglades boats which are very very well made boats started and used to own edgewater boats and then they sold out and started Everglades. But ever since the Doughtery’s left edgewater, edgewater is still making the boats to the same quality as when the Doughtery’s owned it!!

The Bayliner element m15 is not mentioned in this video. It’s an affordable nice family boat going for ~22k right now. It fits in a single car garage and you don’t need a pick up truck to tow it.
The Robalo R180 starts at $32k. 115 yamaha.
Would like same for bow rider and cuddy cabins under 25 feet. Top 5 would be great

tahoe makes runabouts that are great, the T16 runs pretty well on lake barkley / KY lake but it’s really an entry level boat at around 21-22k without any installations , bought one recently and have gotten great use out of it so far , only thing is on windy days it’s a bit rough
