I'll be headed somewhere this summer for some real northern pike fishing that I heard also stocks walleye. As a guy whose mostly just fished for rainbow trout panfryers most of his teenagehood, anything I should be prepared for if and when I catch these?

Jeff Cummings there are so many great places. Knobby’s is really affordable and great fishing through the summer. There are also some great places you can drive to. Pine Sunset Lodge on Dinorwick Lake in Ontario comes to mind, Q Lake Lodge and Wekusko Falls Lodge in Manitoba are excellent drive to camps.

Kab fishes and looks a lot like many Canadian lakes. Jigging rock piles and current between island complexes catch’s a lot of walleye and smallmouth though a big part of the summer.

      Huh? Lol. Okay.
First, most fly ins you're the only group on the lake.
2nd, you still have to abide by Ontario limits and many fly ins regulate further by only allowing you to keep walleye 18" and under

Canada - where even a regular Joe fisherman can feel like the pros on TV. You simply cannot beat the fly in trip for quality of fishing without having to rough it too badly.

One thing I'll say to anyone going on one of these trips is make sure to pack some fish handling gloves. Dealing with over 100 walleye per day will turn your hands to hamburger.

Tyler Bessine well I'll give you a few pointers so remember them. Forget LOTW and Ontario
Start saving pennies and look somewhere in Manitoba or Saskatchewan that's where the real good fishing is. Don't do a fly-in either none of us locals do them it's a waste of money.
As far as Manitoba goes you can't go wrong with any place north of Grand Rapids it's awesome.
and as for Sask. La Ronge to Flin flon and anywhere north of that is going to be unreal.
      Happy fishing :)
