I met him in Pittsburgh back in 2004 right when Three Cheers came out. They played at Mr Smalls theater. This was about the time when they were just on the verge on going massive. I think "I'm not ok just hit MTV". Mr Smalls is a church that got turned into a concert venue. So, it's in the middle of this shitty little neighborhood in Pittsburgh. My friend and I were mostly metal/hardcore punk rock type of listeners, but we enjoyed MCR enough to go. We go around back of the old church where the vans were parked to meet the band. Not in a weird way, I just like to meet the guys/gals of bands. Gerard, Frank, and Bob were standing there having a smoke. We walked up and I said "Mind if I join you guys under the roof here, it's about to rain" There was this small smoking hut thing for people to, well, smoke cigs". They were cool and it was just like 5 guys sitting around, bullshitting about nothing, having smokes. My friend and I are really tall and strong dudes, Gerard asked me if we were having problems with the barricade inside. He thought we were security guard I guess. Come to think of it, I did happen to dress like one of the security staff. We talked about the Misfits and we compared Danzig Misfits to Michael Graves Misfits. Since they were about 10 years older than me at the time "I was 18 then" they liked Danzig more than Graves. When Gerard got up from the table, he kind of lost his balance and rammed into me and my friend who were sitting to his left and right. He got all neurotic and was like "Sorry guys, I'm so sorry". Frank laughed at him and said "Those guys are so much bigger than you, don't piss them off by being a sloppy drunk" We all took a picture before they went inside. I remember that Gerard smelled like a pile of used jockstraps after a 6 hour football practice when he about fell on me and my friend. I'm not gay or anything, but I remember that the most haha. But, he was a real cool dude. In this video, he seems like he's in pain with that facial expression. Not to be mean, but I think old drunk Elisha Cuts stalking him Gerard was a lot cooler than new daddy sober husband Gerard. We all have to grow up I suppose. I'm still holding out myself haha. Hah, Gerard really does look pained. I met Frank once after a leathermouth show. He seems the most down to earth with the fans than the rest of the group personally. He had some luggage and forgot his hat inside and asked if I could watch his stuff for him while he ran back in the venue, Haha. He also took pictures with me and we both split some misfit gloves that I was wearing at the time.
