okay, this song alone is already so full emotion and so raw and i can't help but cry every time i hear it. but, the thing that really shook me was seeing Gerard wipe away his tears at the end. he had to be so strong and so supportive for all these years with MCR and everything has been this giant roller-coaster that has probably left him a lot less stronger than he was before. i feel like hesitant alien has brought out this part of him that we haven't really seen before, and it really shows this side he had to hide for so long. there is probably a reason he hasn't recorded this song in a studio yet, and its most likely for personal reasons as well. there all these theories for what this could possibly be about, but i feel like we should just leave it for this one song. it's just heartbreaking to see someone i've idolized for this long in this state. he put on this mask to be strong for everyone else who struggled. it would break you and hurt you, and that's what makes him such a brave and selfless person. he felt the need to go out and put himself out there to help other people. that is something that should acknowledged and applauded. i really don't know how we could all thank Gerard enough. watching this got me really shaken up because this man has gotten me through so much and seeing him vulnerable like this - crying on stage - kind of jolts me back into reality. i feel like a lot of us put the people we look up to on a pedestal; as if they are more of a god than a human. but this…this just shows that everyone has something that hits them in just the right spot and makes them show a new side of themselves. this song is always performed with a lot of emotion and i can tell that it's a very personal piece, and i personally feel honoured to be let into this part of Gerard's mind, the part where he shows his weakest points. regardless of what the lyrics are referring to, no one can doubt that this is a masterpiece.
