Completely confused chaps. This sequence is all out of order. I'd like to see the start of your journey back to Alaska, and not start halfway through which then reverts to something totally different. It would be nice to see continuity between each episode

Everything about this journey just works. The obvious friendship, the upgrade, planning, beautiful views, and the personal component of missing your family. That said, what strikes me the most is this was all accomplished in a trusty 172! Thank you for all you do......
I had a friend that would almost always run out of gas! One night he was in his 180 and flying in icing conditions and. Ice blocked the vent and the bladder bottoms moved up and stopped the floats from reading the real fuel in the bladder. He did experience that dreaded "Deafening Silence!". Love your videos! Thanks!

Your ATC bill would be from NAV Canada which is a private company that runs the whole air traffic system in Canada. Transport Canada just handles the regulatory part.
I've totally loved this series. I have been up the ALCAN many times in on a motorcycle three trips and in a pickup truck many more times. That trip never gets old for me. I grew up with my dad being a pilot and eventually a Helicopter pilot. He loves helicopter flight (so do I honestly) I never have been able to get my pilots license all these years later. So I've set a goal after watching several aviation channels, yours being one of the main ones, to get my license in the next few years. Thanks for posting great videos and keeping me interested in getting to that goal...

Not only making the aircraft safer and easier to pilot but adding many additional years to its flying. As a pilot and 172 owner seeing the huge change having IFR instrumentation brings has me considering the investment in an IFR rating and equipped aircraft. Want to recognize the exceptional level of airmanship both of you possess and your commitment to quality pilot instruction. So critically important everywhere but especially in Alaska with the number of pilots, reliance as a primary form of transportation, challenging terrain and weather. What I enjoyed most about your trip is a tie between watching you enjoying the large box of Timbits or the large carton of Goldfish :-). Really I enjoyed seeing the level of planning that went into the trip and amount of time spent on site showing and explaining all the physical upgrades. Thanks for including us in your trip it was truly an original, looking forward to seeing more from you.
Love this channel. Early retirement is so much better when you add aviation! Private cert soon. First airplane on order and on the waiting list for the local GA airport (DVT). Can't wait to make this my 2nd life!
If you're already using ForeFlight why not get a Sentry? Good backup for GPS, ADS-B In and AHRS plus built in CO detector. Might be tough to calibrate the AHRS though because of your nose up attitude on the R/W. Love the landing lights!

Transport Canada is the FAA equivalent in Canada; NAV Canada is the separate organization that provides ATC services and the ones who send the ATC bills
Great video! Recently purchased a 1957 Cessna 172 and was curious about upgrading the Pitot tube. Looks like have installed a new one? Curious what all was involved with that.
What a great video with an even greater message about ADM! I also love night flights but Ohio is mostly flat lands as well, so no real danger of terrain. We do however have some fairly tall antennas dotted all over to watch out for though. As always thanks for bringing us along with you guys. I also hope you and your family are doing well Chris.

Interesting @23:37 you can see the exhaust sort of like you see from radials, I am surprised Ihave never seen the exhaust like that from a smaller engine with a muffler.

I notice you have a SIRS Navigator compass on your windshield. Where may I ask did you get the adapter to install it on the Cessna bracket? I've been looking for one for several weeks for mine.
I'm curious why your altimeter bounces around so much, especially having just upgraded the panel. Is it an issue with the instrument itself or something else?
Love the review of the engine monitoring and fuel senders. I do have a quick question. If your Cessna has a fuel valve with BOTH, why did you choose to manage the fuel in each tank manually? Just for my own information and wanting to learn. I just bought my own 172 and would love the perspective.
why does the plane's nose seem pretty high from the ground and the tail about to get too close to it? I even wonder if it gets worse with weights on the passenger seats..

Our particular model has a requirement to switch at 5K. There’s a design flaw in the system that causes one tank to draw more than the other.
