Even 5 years on a big thank you, this video has been really useful and saved me many hours today getting to the rear window regulator after the cable broke
Many thanks for this "one of a kind" video. It is exactly what I need. My seatbelt is pulled all the way out, but would not retract. Great video and you have lots of patience. Thanks again.
Bez ciebie nigdy bym nie doszedł co i jak, dziękuję bardzo za film, nic nie rozumiałem ale wszystko widziałem (Polish)
Super talent, camera work, humour, thanks!!
Thank you, The bolt under the exterior trim is unbelievable.
Yeah, that one's just wrong 😂. I don't care how simple you can replace the adhesive and slap back on.
OMG that is insane amount of work! Thanks for the video both of my rear windows are broken in my 2004 CLK320
Extremely valuable information.
Thank you.
THANK U MY BROTHER,THIS REGULATOR ON MY CLK HAS BEEN KICKING MY ASS FOR WEEKS ,NOW I CAN FINISH IT THANKS TO U.GREAT VIDEO.MUCH LOVE FROM LOS ANGELES...STAY SAFE FROM CORONA..STAY IN THE GARAGE AND WORK ON STUFF
Thank you so very much for your diligent efforts to create this video. I have been breaking my neck trying to figure out how to repair the rear window regulator on the 2004 CLK55 AMG. Your video is so incredibly helpful!
Your presentation is worth its weight in gold. I depend on people like you to reveal things that drive me nuts [ @ 19.19 minutes ]
It was a great help! I'm now waiting for the actuator repair kit so I can put it all back together. LOL, should be fun.

Hello Thank you for this Video - this helps really.
Greetings from Germany
Thank you so much for taking the time to video how to remove the regulator. I can't thank you enough! There's really no shortcut in accomplishing this task.
Yes, they buried it deep :)
2009 CLK 550 convertible - driver rear regulator failed. Thanks for this video it really helped me have the confidence to try and tackle doing it myself.
Thanks for the video. I have to replace my drivers side seat belt this weekend (2005 CLK320). Your video is just what I was looking for in regards to the breakdown.
There are some discrepancies between the coupe and convertible. Procedure for coupe is a little different.
@@HETPEZB working on a convertible so this really helps.
Have fun! just did mine,
Man you did amazing job , 🙏👍🏻with out you I would not do it , thank you !!
Thank you very much my friend. I always follow you, you are a very intelligent person. If it wasn't for you I would never have been able to remove the window actuator. Thank you
Super video! Thank you for the help!
You rock brotha! Best vid
Much appreciated for your video!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video. Looks like I'll just stop and put everything back and let the shop do it. Rather pay $1300 to get this fix than do it myself. Way too much work for my little time.
I was in the same position. Mine is in the shop now. Seems like these regulators weren’t the best for the period. I also have a W140 and that regulator is bad and I’m NOT looking forward for that bill.
I’ve been searching for hours trying to figure this out and he answer the question of the day thank you so much for making this video need more people like this ! You made my dame day I could not figure it out dame hidden screw
It took me a while for the first time too :)

Thank you dude really thank you for making this video,on my clk350 rear window regulator broke trying to fix but seeing how much much time and effort plus to that the soft top pistons are leaking somewhere and I can’t put it down have to fix it first, hate this car as much as I love it ,but engineering was stupid very stupid to place the regulator like that
I think I still have either left or right regulator for sale as well as the top pistons (pistons are not removed yet ;) )
Best Pixel Repair I need the left rear regulator
same situation here lol on my clk500
@@yeetyeetlson5476 I actually fixed it, took me half day, bought the part from ebay for 20$ , you can put the roof down manually , let me know if you need help with that
@@gregdali1011 how do you remove the roof manually?
thanks . very helpful
thanks great video
Thanks you bro you are help me ✌🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🔥🇫🇷
I have changed window regulator on the left side on my 05’ coupe. And it is very hard to pull it out throught that little space but i managed to do that. Putting back in regulator is ten times easier 😅
you managed the pull the regulator assembly without removing that last panel that he did in the video?
muchas gracias amigo
Do you have to take the roll hoops out to get everything else out for the window regulators? Thank you
back again this year for the regulator on the opposite side. Replaced the regulator and installed the window back on. When I tried to test it out, it only goes up 3\4 of the way. , any tips?
Do I have to do all this to pull a rear backup camera line through to head unit lol or just part of this..?
عمل رائع 👍👍👍
you should pull all the computers located behind the rear seat, they control the top and seatbelt tensioners, etc. worth it to keep
All those vehicles sold already. But I just got same one again. Will post a video in a few days.
how did you get the top to let down? i can hear the motor running on my back window when i try to let down the top but top wont let down because back window not working
Hello ! Am look you video and I’m think it’s a great work !!! Can you tell me please, have you changed the entire roof on the w209 cabrio?
Been a few times when I changed the roof too.
Hi great video. What size sockets are required for this process?
45 and 30 torx was on mine
Thank you for the tutorial. I would have never found that hidden screw under the convertible top nor the screw behind the outside trim panel. I bought a $20 repair kit off of amazon and now my window works again. I was going to make a video showing how to install the repair kit. Do you mind if I link your video? Either way, thank you VERY MUCH!
I appreciate the kind words and as much sharing of our video as possible:)
I was going to buy those repair kits for my CLK 320
I have a clk 350 ... my rear window went down and won’t come back up. I can hear the motor working but it’s like some cracking sounds in there. I need a tutorial for the amazon kit
@@jaymell340 Ill try to put it up this weekend
Eric Kim thanks, I read the instructions over and over but will feel a lot more confident if I have a visual tutorial. Looking forward to getting it done.
Hi, I have a question. I have a clk w209 (convertible) and the left rear window button doesn't work anymore. I was thinking about buying a used button so I can replace it. The question is :is it possible to pop out just the button or is it necessary to disassemble the whole "arm rest" cover? I noticed in your video that the window button is out but the cover is still in place.
Nope, the panel has to go off. I don't know, may be it's possible to pop it off just from underneath and feed your hand to reach the button, not sure. But it's definitely the button can't be removed simply from the top.
Great video. My issue is my regulator broke when my window was fully down. Do you think its possible to leave the window attached to the regulator and pull the regulator out will window was attached in the Down position ? I don’t know how to remove the window first because I game roll the window up to get to the bolt
I have been searching for an answer to this as well. My window on mine is com, pletely down and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it back up to access the bolts. I'm only a few bolts away from sorting it out too!
@shanegee8651 , you remove the big black panel and then use long wrenches (if they are ratcheting it’s a bonus) to reach to 3 bolts holding the window glass. Not convenient but doable.
My left rear window regulator is out on my 2005 CLK320.
I have two questions regarding the replacement, what window regulator did you use to replace the old one? Also, would it be possible to replace the window regulator without dropping the convertible as mine does not work
I did not replace the regulator, I only showed how to get to it. Mine regulators are fine. The top needs to go up and down few times. You will need to do it manually if it doesn’t work.
Hey my friend w208 window only working when he takes off the battery and put it back on could you tell me what the cause?
do you still have your w209.
good job very well done
I still do have w209, but a different one :)
Hello,
How much time in your opinion to replace a seat belt presenter system ?
Thank U for your video and answer.
Cheers,
David
Easily can be done in an hour.
@@HETPEZBAlright, Thanks a lot^^ ;)
I have a 2005 CLK 500 Convertible. I'm wondering if I will need to remove the seats to get to the window regulator. The CLK 320 seems to have a hook that allows you to remove the whole door panel without taking out seats.
For the rear regulator the removal of the rear seat is a must. Good thing it takes 3 minutes :)
@@HETPEZB ThankYou for responding. Seat removal appears easy. I believe you have to be able to lower the convertible top and we bought this car from a previous owner. I believe the top doesn’t come down. Can you remove the seat without removing lowering the convertible? I know there’s a mysterious manual way to lower it. My back window is stuck up. It’s cracked open so about 80% up. I wonder if I can lower the top with the window like this?
I think you need to have the tonnoe cover opened to get the access to the plastic trim attached to the seat back with a plastic rivets. That’s the only thing that requires the rear of the convertible top to be opened. Otherwise you could remove the seats with a top on.
@@HETPEZB thank you
I am replacing my passenger rear window regulator of my MB clk 550 2007
Anyone HELP. I have a clk230 cabrio. Occasionaly the windows the mirrors the rear headrests all stop working. The only way to fix this is by removing the neagitive terminal on battery , only for a couple of seconds then put it back on and hey peesto they all work again. PLS ANYIDEAS...
One of my quarter windows goes down about 2" then stops. It can go back up and no strange noises. Switch and motor must be OK. IS this likely a mechanical (regulator) or electronic issue (reset something)?
And when you press the button- nothing happens?
I did it. Thank you so much for this video, excellent!
Saved me an significant amount of money, Mercedes was asking for.
The repair kit was just 12,68 EUR.
The rapair a satisfying day together with my brother. 🔧🪛👍
i have an 2007 clk 350 2 door convertible. do I have to do the same process or is it different my my year?
I don’t think it much different for 03 to 09. Possible difference in Airbag plastic badge on the “rear-non-existing -door” panel
if i replace the seatbelt presenter with another will it throw some kind of srs code? my presenter/extender is very noisy and doesn’t move at all.
You need to figure out if the gear on the motor shredded the teeth, or the teeth been shredded on the long sliding thing. If second - you can replace it without disassembling at all.
Ме спаси брат големо благодарам БРАТ
My window does not go up enough to get the top 2 bolts. Any advice?
Usually it’s possible to unscrew and remove the window itself to get the access to 2 upper nuts.
@@HETPEZB Yeah my window only went up half way so thats why I was trying to replace the regulator. I was able to loosen the bolts via the opening at the bottom and then used my fingers to slowly get it out. Thanks for the vid! the window regulator is replaced!
Dear lord what a huge pain this process is. How are you supposed to get the window out if you can't move it up and down because the regulator is what is broken and it's stuck in the down position!?!
If this is the case I think you need to remove the huge black metal part first, then to remove the actual motor from the regulator and them you’ll be able to raise and lower the window manually
as below
Has or can anyone make a 3d print model of plastic part 2096700103 ???
How does the top come down if the window won't drop?
What’s the problem with the window?
The regulator need replaced
It only goes down 2 inches
@@MrChosen3000 , then I’m not sure what is preventing to open the top. 2” should be enough to clear the path.
Well, dang it! Mine won't go down enough to get the first 10mm off the window. I guess I can't ever get the window off. I'm screwed! Sheeeeeesh!
And my top won't open either, so that's the other thing I have to figure out.
If you remove the weatherstripping from the window - you can try use a long wrench (or in the best case scenario ratcheting wrench) to get to the nut from the top.
My other problem is, the top doesn't open properly. I need to fix that too. So I can't even see those back bolts. My other cars all breaking down too, so I haven't had time to finish this yet.
I was looking at that weather stripping, thinking that might help, just before I got back to this video and read your reply. LOL
Just did seat belt what a nightmare
After 10th time goes like a charm :)
helpful, but missing a number of important steps.
It would be nice if you will list those steps, so people could use this additional information to help them with the repair.
REALLY? And the purpose of your posting was merely to criticize? WOW!!! Found enough time to make such a deposit....good for you! SMH.
Not bad but there are better videos of same subject out there. Took too long to get to the point and didn't really show or talk about HOW to remove the panel, screws, what tools or special tools were needed, etc.
And what you do when window stuck down. Which is very common for this crap car
Then you remove the big black metal panel, unscrew 3 bolts that attaches the actual motor to the regulator, remove the motor from the regulator and then use your hands to move the window up and down.
What a fucking nightmare just to fix a regulator.
Only when you do it for the first time :)
HIDDEN BOLT EXPOSED
Its behind the molding on the outside of the car
Mercedes is a dumb car
For who?
