  • Finally getting to work on my civic hatchback. I had removed my windshield because i wanted to get to some rust in pillars and it was crack and needed to be replaced anyway. The rust was not bad, some holes in the top driver and passenger side but the rest was mainly surface pitting. I patched the holes with some scrap sheet metal i had laying around and treated the pitting with Eastwood’s fast etch. I also used Eastwood’s direct to metal primer sealer.

According to Babvvo and Tebbvo laws, sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime!

Thank you for your input and your views. It’s true that regulations are changing world wide and here in California we have had some strict emissions laws for many years now and more are coming. I will continue to work on my cars until the laws say otherwise. I have been modifying cars for many years while staying within compliance laws and have still managed to have plenty of fun with my vehicles. I don’t consider anything i put into my vehicles as an investment so from a monitory standpoint I have always realized that any money I put into a car is pretty much lost. That being said if the time comes when internal combustion engines are illegal, I will probably convert my classic vehicles to electric for compliance and continue to enjoy them. Classic cars with electric conversions are becoming more and more common and companies are putting out complete kits for this purpose. Is this the future of engine swaps? Maybe. I’m not preaching anything it’s just my own view on cars and no one has to agree with me.
