I remember being a teen in N.O. and when I heard someone in the street getting killed at like 25, I used to be surprised they were that old and automatically thought they must have been in jail for a few years. Growing up in New Orleans, y’all have to realize that the killers were the big dogs. Our gangsters didn’t believe in sending hits. Money wasn’t that long here for shit like that. Changed after Katrina but the killers were usually the coolest niggas in the hood. Just wasn’t to be fucked with. Nothing to glorify but that’s how it was in the 90s, early 2000s.
