  • I'd seen this abandoned place many times heading down the highway and it always caught my eye and this time it caught my eye even more as it looked very over grown so I thought I'd check it out. It was raining hard and I wasn't really expecting much but when I got to the cabin and saw what I did I started getting this overwhelming feeling of sadness for the person that once lived there and had the feeling of wanting to cry because of how sad the explore was making me feel. It looked like some ones pride and joy at one time and suddenly it all stopped and ended up the way it did, abandoned and alone and meaningless. I don't know why I had such a sense of sadness with this explore? maybe it was the once proud photos that the person had displayed on his cabin right at the front door for all to see. Maybe it was just because it was pouring rain and it made everything looks so gloomy? Who knows, anyway, I hope you enjoy this explore. Please leave a comment below about how you felt about this video. Give me a thumbs up and share me with your friend. See you next time

Looks like they raised dogs or some sort of animal. The chairs are for when someone comes to buy one. Don't let your mind go crazy imagining. I enjoyed seeing it. Blessings

It's always sad to see the remnants of someone's life abandoned, forgotten and left to decay. All the things someone had worked hard to amass, things they probably took pride in, enjoyed and cherished simply left to the ravages of time. These explores always leave me with a sobering sense of reflection and a determination to appreciate and enjoy whatever life has blessed me with while I can. Thank you for sharing.

There were two chairs side by side in front of the TV, and seemed to be more than one bedroom. Beautiful, beautiful views, oh my gosh! Good places for gardening, maybe he had a boat for that little pond, and fish. The second building I thought at first was a barn, but not barn like at all. Was there a kitchen in there? And what's with the little jail cells? That's what they looked like, very strange and creepy. Love your accent by the way, from the states
Place was nicely built, might not have been vacant for long if the smoke detectors are still chirping. Seems they posted the "story" outside the front door. I couldn't quite make out the photo collage.

In my 60's and I have started getting rid of stuff now. Things have not much meaning for me and never have. No one will want the personal effects I leave behind and in a generation I will be forgotten. Just the way things are. Don't want strangers rummaging through my stuff and making up stories about me because of things left behind.

Didn't understand why the photos were posted on the outside?!!! The dwellers came back and posted the photos, now faded, to show visitors like yourself :to show the reality of who they were and how they lived and loved in this house. So that some truth and caring of their time and the house's soul carries on. How do I know? I lived in a cabin in NH before I could go to college. Had to abandon it, to new negligent owners. I came back ten years later and similarly posted photos (inside plastic bags with thumb tacks to the walls) to show the loved and lived history of the place (that now had broken windows, stoves stolen, etc.) Still with a beautiful spirit.

It's just sad to see a man's hard work and effort to build such a beautiful cabin, and have it sweated from underneath his feet. Also to see sit there and be forgotten. I hope someone with a good heart will see the beauty of that cabin and bring it back to it's TRUE glory again.

What a beautifully made house/cabin. It's a shame that it's abandoned. Someone, or a family really, would really love to live there. To bring it back to all it's glory. To bring laughter and life back to it. Too wonderful to just let it go downhill.😢 Thanks for filming and showing it on your channel 👍

I believe abandoned homes represent the fragility of this life we have been given. Without proper love and care they wither away, back into nature. It takes more than nails and paint to keep a home together...…..there's something else very important missing in an abandoned home that causes it to slowly shed it's 'skin' and sink back to where it came from. I'm not sure that Love is enough to keep it together...…..what else might it be....?......

I know the feeling, my wife passed a year ago. We were together 32 years. Our son asked ... What's it all for Dad, all you did for Mom and it comes to this, a bunch of her stuff she will never see or use again. To that I said, a lesson learned. Keep life simple, memories last forever in the heart. Possessions rot away. Even our Daughter refused to take her jewelry. It just made her cry

I lost my precious momma this August. It's the worst heartbreak I've ever experienced. She was my best friend throughout my life. She even helped me raise my sweet baby girl. We lived with her and my dad until I married in 2012. I was 43. I'm the oldest child, and her older daughter. My brother and sister wanted me to have most of Mom's jewelry, including her wedding set. I love wearing then because theft make her seem close, but my heart is so very sad. I come to her house, and all of her clothes are still in the closet. Sometimes, I wrap my arms around them and breathe in. I want to hang onto the blouse she was wearing when we found out she had cancer. I know she's with Jesus and that I'll see her one day again, but my heart is so very heavy now. I miss her more than I can say.

This is a beautiful little cabin with a very nice view of the lake. It's too bad it's going to be torn down. I'm glad you stopped in to record it before it's gone. The beeping was definitely the smoke alarm with a low battery. That would indicate the home was vacated fairly recently. I would be interested to know the purpose of the frame on the roof. The way it's made, it looks like it was possibly for solar panels.
It is sad to think this gentleman passed away and his beautiful little cabin is all that's left which will soon be gone too. To me, it's like all signs of his existence are being swept away like he never existed, and I'm glad to see someone else who has similar feelings. Thanks for sharing not only the video but your heartfelt feelings along with it. It made this video even more special.

And create very strong emotional responses even in us on the other side of the screen not walking the walk with you. I don't think much of funerals either, plan to be cremated myself. I don't think you were waffling if that's the correct spelling? It's so nice and refreshing for a change to see that there are still people out there who have a genuine love and concern for others and the fact that you felt a sense of grief and sadness for this man...and pondered on his life and how you'll end up is touching. My husband, told me once about an old guys flat in, London. They were to go in..and gut it out ..then remodel. The guy had obviously passed away. My husband and his brother were told, they could take whatever they wanted, since he had no next of kin, left no will and his belongings would just be carted off to the dump. When they went into the flat..to start on it, my husband said, it was just like the guy had gone out for the day..and the place was waiting on him to come home. His reading glasses were sitting on the table next to his chair. His tea cup was on it. He had been reading a book. My husband said, he had lovely antiques, volumes of all the classics. Good liqueurs, and you name it, he had it. He said, he didn't have the heart to take anything. He felt so overwhelmed with sadness the whole time they took to finish the place. I personally felt he should have taken some of the items, that he would have wanted..But he said, he couldn't. Whew..this is way to long for me..and you probably won't see it..But I felt it's important enough to comment on...enough I'm off to bedland..😩😪😴

I think the shed was used as a kennel for several different animals. If he had big dogs, Great Danes or Mastiffs say, then the chairs could have been feeding platforms. You put the bowl of dog food on the seat and it's easier for a big dog to eat the food. The sink was for washing the food and water dishes. But it really does seem that with all the land he had that he would have built dog runs and had a door where the animals could go in an out at will. I hope he didn't have people in there. But if he did, that could explain why nobody wants the property and why you felt so sad exploring the place. Great video. Thanks for sharing it.

Just a thought. Chairs in cages look very weird, granted. But im willing to bet that someone at some point used to rescue dogs. I worked in rescue for many years, and chairs were always placed in kennels with frightened or sick pups so that we could sit with them either to observe or just to comfort them. The other cage is a rabbit hutch.

  • @jayfurjill
    @jayfurjill Před 7 lety +5

That was really interesting. The house was really lovely, I would live in it in a second. I'm sure he designed and built it himself, and was, rightly, proud enough of it to put up the photos of the work in progress. I wonder whether, if he didn't die, he got some kind of dementia and wasn't able to live on his own in the end. That might explain the chairs in cages - the shot showing the sinks, with the cages beyond them, just made me think they had indeed been kennels, the bit where the sinks were would reasonably been a preparation area for feeding dogs., but dementia might have led him to put chairs in them. My first husband had dementia and he did move stuff around randomly. Perhaps it was a while before relatives or friends discovered his predicament and got him into a home, and cleared out the important stuff of his and left the rest, like the TVs and chairs. Fascinating, curious, and, yes, sad.
    A great explore, thanks :)

Certain chairs can be aggressive when they're in unfamiliar surroundings. He probably kept them caged up until a suitable owner came round and claimed them. There's a strict procedure by law that potential owners have to go through before being aloud to own one. After all never forget that a chair is for life ... Not just for Christmas.

      LOL .
Might been a kind of tiny police station or so. Park ranger home? Maybe those "cages" were there just in case someone have to be imprisoned until police took him to bigger cities police station.
      Thats my thought on it.
Does not directly mean something freaky or evil happened there

Beautiful cabin, too bad it's abandoned I get the sense of sadness too in places like this especially if it was a family home with childrens toys left behind, but I like to know the history behind these places if anything. Thank you for doing this video. Have a blessed day. 🌷

~Healing Animals to Heal his Loss~
Maybe he had his own business as a veterinarian with the family life but Sadly had to give up and his kids go into temporary care so he could nurse his wife.
After loosing so much who can blame the guy for wanting solitude, to live off grid and do what he loves best...healing animals to heal his loss.
Maybe having a chair by each bed was how he nursed his wife, plus having a single bed meant he could nurse around the clock whilst getting some sleep.
    Hense the make shift kitchen.
God bless this guy and happy reunion with his wife and all the animals he helped.

      Pandora's Box,
You speak with such conviction, almost as tho you knew this man and his family. Its a long shot but i rather enjoyed you're little version. As I read your comment I can almost picture an old man taking care of his wife day in and day out. Feeding and loving his animals. sitting on his porch looking at what he and his wife built together. My heart breaks a little thinking about how it must feel to watch your one and only true love slip away a little more each day until she finally went to sleep forever. A love like that is truly breath taking. mkuebler5 thanks for sharing. the video made me feel as tho i was rite there with you. What an amazing talent.

This house has a lot of beautiful potential. With some imaginary care, it would be a great "getaway" home.

Sad how it ended up in this beautiful setting in such picturesque country, Australia is so beautiful...
Thanks for your upload, I look forward to more in the future, have a great day.

*Dreams Unfinished.* same as with many of our lives. really appreciate all the feeling you expressed. I've often wondered why others don't show the sadness that goes with a life (lives) passed. edit: hmm, after seeing cages, makes me wonder. If he kept dogs or any animals in there, not good at all!! subbed! ~ Holly, Coast of Maine, USA.

Wow... The home was interesting, however, the steel barn gave me creeps ! Appears it housed individuals - like jail cells - keeping persons locked up. The sink area really frighten my imagination.

The cages looked to be possible kennels, chairs for someone to sit and visit the animal inside I guess 😃 it's still a lovely little cottage type home, thanks for sharing, made me a bit sad too, maybe it was the rain.
