  • In this episode I inspect the body work and chassis before making a decision on saving it or scrapping it.
I am still trying to get used to talking to myself and a camera so I mumble a lot and after watching back, realise I may not explain certain things properly.

Good decision, it's a nice van and deserves to be saved. The old motor is lucky to have made its way to a VX fan with major mechanical skills! Looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks for posting :-)

Head gasket failure. I’m a little bit further on with it than the videos. I’m editing part 4 as I write this so I won’t give too much away 😉

I was just curious what the mileage was. I won’t likely know the mileage of the replacement engine and even if I did , who’s to say that engine hadn’t replaced an engine too. So the mileage wouldn’t be guaranteed. I’m a big fan of high mileage motors though. 110,000miles is really low to me.

It looks in great condition, it even has rear arches! The only bit might be the fuel filler area, my Coupe went there a wee bit. Wouldn't you consider doing the HG on it? These Isuzu engines are meant to be good but I know HG failure on them is quite common. I sniff tested the engine on my Cav TD tonight as it runs a wee bit warm sometimes, all good though. I'm looking forward to the next video, enjoying the narration and pieces to camera.

Thanks buddy! I did consider doing the head gasket but the cost would be way higher and much more time consuming than replacing the engine. I may do it I. The future though for a spare. I am actually editing part 4 this evening so I’m a good bit further on than this video now 😁
