  • Abishek Raghuram, the grandson of Palghat Raghu rendered his music in a very fine manner. His dhuritha kala sahithyams and swarams remind me Nadaswaram Maestro Dr Thiruvengadu T.P.Subramania Pillai .As a music critic I can swear that this young man would emerge more than Mr GNB in music field.

The only performance where I enjoyed seeing the Thambura Artist Sri Vaidyanathan enjoying the performance of the main Artist and sharing the experience along with other artists. I have listened to this concert many number of times, and each time I made it a point to watch the facial expression of Happiness in the face of Sri Vaidyanathan. Great performance by Sri Abhishek Raghuram. Looking froward to the full programme being uploaded. Please request Sankara TV to upload this programme without break.

Till we read your comment we were thinking that we were the only ones to feel the same way about Vaidyanathan mama's expressions... 😊😊🙌

From 4:00 mins onward. It’s a celebration, anyone will start dancing. Not like fake dancing for bhajanais. This is dancing with joy literally.

It is also a method of singing. It is not a "sastra virudham"ie not against sangeetha sastra pramanas ! For example Nadaswaram Maestro Kalaimamani Andankoil Sevarathnam would start with anupallavi "Azhagana Mayiladavum" in Kuzhaloodhi(Kambothi) of Ooothukkadu Venkatyasubbaiyer ! Similarly Sree OS Thiagaran would begin from Anupallavi in one Atana Keethanai of Thiagayya.I think it is Balakanakamaya"

No doubt Abishek is an extremely talented musician. This is an absolute masterful rendition.
But do you require so much gimmicks for this song? The bhavam of "wonder of seeing the temple for the first time" is totally missing. To summarise, grammatically excellent bur the soul is missing. Simplicity works wonders.....

Musical Theory accepts 'Dhuritha Kalam', Madhyama and Mandha Kalams'..... Hindustani Music appears too slow to us, those of us, used only to Carnatic Music.
