That's a nice processor. I just finished making one and tried it out yesterday for the first time... All steel, no lifting wood, no bending over, and I have less than $125.00 into it. It's on a trailer and can be towed down the road. I don't make CZcams videos, but if you'd like to see it, I can make a video and send it to you.

Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I know the 315 was loaned to you but for the average Joe (forgive the pun) who forked out circa $70k for a 405 he would need a huge amount of skinny logs to justify forking out an additional $25k for the smaller machine. However, it does prove the point that Japa has a complete range of machines to cope with the demands of all levels of the firewood industry. I believe from international news that you have been hard hit with serious heat in recent times - thank goodness for the roof over your 405. I have a fan that I use when splitting in all seasons - you could hook one up to your power pack.

I use a Hakki Pike processor that is perfect for processing logs with a 4" to 8" diameter. The person who supplies me with logs has a larger processor that doesn't work well with smaller logs, so he sells me his smaller logs instead. I take his culled material. It's all a matter of scale. The thing about smaller-diameter logs is that you can move them around manually without too much effort. Great video, but I do wonder how much brain power should be credited to the videography?
