Welcome to Mater Mothers’ Hospitals’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit. Finding out that your baby has an underlying problem, condition or abnormality can be very distressing for parents, regardless of when they find out. But we are here to help you through this difficult time.
This section of our intensive care nursery is dedicated to caring for babies with heart problems, surgical problems, or babies with an underlying condition or abnormality that may require additional care with the relevant specialist teams at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Many families will have found out about their baby’s problems before their baby is born, but for others, is may come as a shock after birth.
