I'm a homegrown KC fan, and I was in the Chief's stadium in the 80s. There were very few fans in the seats. Then Marty Ball came to town, and we started rolling. Good games but not great back then. Nothing compares to what the Chief's fans are experiencing now. Thank you to Lamar Hunt and to our Chief's team. I'm having fun biting my nails every game.

Not just terrible seasons - those weren't even the worst of it. It was years of 12-4 or 13-3 seasons without a win in the playoffs that ripped our hearts out.

Spags is an all-time great DC and he took away the Raven's running game to force Lamar to throw. They also kept Lamar in the pocket. Give Spags his props.

The Chiefs really didn't stop the Ravens running game; they got 5 yds per carry on 16 carries for 81 yds.....the Ravens chose to go away from the running game once the Chiefs got ahead of them; big mistake...
They allowed a big scramble by Lamar (21 yards) and a 15-yard carry by Gus Edwards. Outside of that, they absolutely did stop the rushing attack. If before the game you would have told K.C. they would have allowed 16 carries for 81 yards, they'd smile and know the win would be theirs. @@timclark2925

The Ravens couldn't run or have a balanced attack because they didn't posses the ball.....also the D putting them in passing situations was the key.... and lets be honest Lamar is not a thrower of the football.... he is not accurate that is why they loss.
If lamar was a real qb he would be able to win from the pocket and he would be able to overcome the lack of running.

Mahomes has seen it all and is dissecting your defensive chess board ♟️ in real-time.
He makes so many adjustments and checks at the line of scrimmage - you rarely see them line up and straight-up snap it.

The defenses were insane in the second half.
Chiefs defense was insane all game. Ravens only TD came on a bust that should’ve been a sack, and Lamar had nowhere to throw from the start.
Ravens made too many boneheaded penalties and the Flowers fumble, absolutely crucial. Cheifs did nothing stupid (1-int), and won the game. Ravens offense did what it was supposed to do, the defense held strong. But so did the Cheifs. So, you got left is penalties and fumble.
Thank you Chris. I'm so sick of pundits making excuses for the Ravens loss. Too many are ignoring the greatness of Mahomes and the Chiefs.

@@Pkilla80 With the current rules restricting defenses it is almost impossible to do that without losing a game and that is no game plan. As we saw the Ravens getting several 15 yard penalties at critical times eating their own clock and moving the Chiefs to where they could pin the Ravens deep in their own territory. Chiefs got the job done against an allegedly better rated offense without all the roughing the passer penalties.
They knew they were going to lose.

Mahomes doesn't look special this year and they are STILL at the big game...Interesting. I do think the Harbaugh/Herbert combo could shake things up, but hats off to the Chiefs for doing what they do. Also, there is NO WORLD in any alternate reality or multiversal timeline where Lamar is an MVP over Mahomes...dude was probably not in the top 10 amongst passers. Passing wins in the big games.

That TD throw to Kelce was one of the best throws all season for anyone. And it's on the opening drive of the AFCCG. I knew right then that after a 3&Out for Lamar & Co and that drive and score, the Chiefs were not losing.
I love that MVS made the game winning catch and has been money in the playoffs. Really felt bad for the year he had up to that point

Was still a close game. Chiefs got just enough from offense, but defense was the MVP of the game in my opinion.
It’s great to be the villain as long as they keep winning. By being an underdog it give the Chiefs a motivation to win bad.

Lamar had time yesterday to throw the ball and 2 turnovers in the End zone were the difference. But also give Chiefs defense credit. They played fantastic.
See this is what real Chiefs fans have known all along. Through this "off" year we Knew Andy and Mshomes would figure it out. And Spags was brilliant all year, carrying the offense on down weeks. And Kelce loves the big moments. So here we are where we expected to be all along. We know everyone else is over the Chiefs but Chiefs fans know how lucky and special we have it.
Let's be honest though we were hoping we would see that peak offense starting week 12 or so. Literally didn't show up until wildcard round
The media questioned Veech at one point which I just didn’t understand. I said 3 years ago that Patrick Mahomes is the most disrespected great of all time. He could easily have been to all 6 Super Bowls as a starter.

When I watched pre season I thought the Chiefs had some pretty good backups. They showed up this playoff seasion. Veach said it’s a long season and you need quality backups, so he paid for them. Veach is a genius.

The one knock people had on Mahomes was that he never had to go on the road in the playoffs. Now he beat Josh Allen and Lamar in back to back weeks on the road. Like Simms said, now there’s nothing that Mahomes hasn’t accomplished, there’s no pressure that is gonna be too much for him. He is gonna end up being the GOAT I guarantee it.

"You want to see someone else win... Pete Rozelle wanted an NFL where everyone had a chance every year." People want to win. Some people will do the bare minimum to win. Maybe they will get lucky once. Others, will take their God given talent and work their butts off to create a legacy.
The Chiefs found a diamond in the rough with Patrick Mahomes. And once they had him, they worked with him. Players want to play with him. He has some raw talent, and he worked to put himself on the Chiefs, and to develop it. To be coached by Andy Reid and his staff, and I believe, if he stays healthy, and stays on this course, he will be the greatest of all time. I personally love seeing him win.

Chiefs secondary is elite: Sneed is a monster on the outside, McDuffie is a star in the slot, Connor is playing out of his mind at S, and Reid (S) just had his best game of the year, he's locked in. Not to mention the depth w/ Williams at CB.

No one is talking about who really won the game for the Chiefs. Sneed and Karloftis stirred the pot with rough play that scared Lamar and Flowers. Both got hit hard every time it could happen. They are 2 beast. Flowers taunting was because he had been stomped all game by Sneed. When Lamar ran the ball he took hits from the big K!!!! Thanks guys holding them to 3 points in a half the least they have scored in 2 seasons. Of course Pat and Trav played hard as always but that is not enough against the no.1 Defense in the league and Andy knew that.

I also won't be shocked if the NFL petitioned that the touchback rule will be changed cause of the Zay Flowers incident in the game but just a game ago, nobody cared about the Chiefs' Mecole Hardman touchback since it is the Chiefs.
They won't change the Zay Flowers one because it was recovered in the field of play, nobody recovered Mecoles fumble so that definitely should be changed. 2 different situations.

@@damofyetv1293 I'm talking about rule changes, I'm simply talking about if Chiefs benefits from NFL rules like that touchback rule that happened with this game against the Ravens and OT rule that happened against the Bills, there will be rule changes. But if the Chiefs are the one that suffers from those rules before, the NFL won't do a dam thing to change the rule.

What the chefs are doing is pretty special. Historical… Mahomes looking as if he will have a shot at getting to Brady levels of GOATing. Will be interesting to see how this team evolves after players like Kelce move to retirement and Mahomes moves into his 30’s.

Mahomes is a tremendous quarterback. Kelce is an extremely clutch tight end. Andy Reid has shown repeatedly that he can coach talent to play at a higher level.
I have nothing against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. But the offense showed that they weren’t ready for the big stage. Defense played their hearts out. Kyle Hamilton got beat on the touchdown. Truly think it’s the only time he’s been burnt this season. Incredible player! Only knock on Baltimore defense was their immaturity. It was only eclipsed by their offense’s immaturity. Flowers hopefully will grow up. He’s talented.

I'll be rooting for my 9ers in the SB, but not sure how they can be favored in this one. The 9ers zone D has struggled slowing down the Mahomes led Chiefs, and the Chiefs D is the best it's been.
People see the big Mahomes accomplishments and highlights, but as a longtime Chiefs fan it's hard to describe how many insanely good little things he does in almost every game that we get to see every week. You never really lose hope during any game, which is a great thing . I've watched pretty much every Chiefs game since the mid 90s and don't take ANY of it for granted. It's (finally!) a great time to be a Chiefs fan!
It's like the pundits forgot when Chiefs lost to Bengals in 2021 AFCCG, they flipped the script since then. Chiefs took the points before the half, and committed to running the ball, milk the clock and prevent them from coming back.

The year the Chiefs lost to the Buccaneers , not only was Mahomes dealing with that toe injury, but Andy Reids son who was also a part of the coaching team, almost killed a person in a drunk driving accident the day before the super bowl, and not only was fired, but could have been facing manslaughter charges. You don't think that affected his mind too? So you have a distracted head coach, and a QB with a bum toe that needed operated on the next day after the SB.... Also don't forget that play off game that went into OT with Brady in previous year where Chiefs lost coin toss and never got to see the ball in OT. Yeah you think our current record is crazy, it almost was 2 seasons even better if not for unfortunate circumstances.
I am from KC and I would really love if people give the defense more credit. Mahomes didn't propel KC, the defense did. The defense leads this team. Three turnovers and only one touchdown given up. Two stops in the redzone. Come on man!!

One thing said here was you're not seeing the spectacular sidearm, no look passes so much. Mahomes is smarter and better able to find the right guy without those throws. We Chiefs fans had a lifetime of gut punches. I went to Arrowhead in the 80s and could pretty much sit wherever you want. 90s was the Derrick Thomas era. Always ended in early playoff loss. This feels well earned and I’m enjoying every second, but this too will pass

Talking about the Chiefs presnap motions, they had a very specific one they did a lot while trying to milk clock where they were openly and obviously sending the running back all the way out wide and then bringing him all the way back. As someone who watches every Chiefs game it stood out to me how often they were doing it because it was unusual and fairly frequent. Since they had switched to a clock milking ball control offense im the 2nd half they showed they even have different motions specifically for that.
Mahomes is a genius at understand moments period.
