I'm pretty sure the original Rainbow Story is that Red (as a scientist) made his employees Green, Orange and Blue, as well Purple (possibility nr 1). Green is a blind person, Blue is an aggressor, Orange is a child and Purple could be a very introvert person (a failure for the rainbow friends company) (possibility nr 2). Red isn't one of them, he's just a mascot. Why do I think he's one? Look at his body in the ending of Chapter 1. It is human, it's not like every other rainbow friend's. He has a body, a human-shaped body in fact. And none of the rainbow friends are wearing clothes, but he does, a scientist type of clothes. Think of it from this kind of perspective, that the last line he says "It seems I have underestimated them." is a villain line. It's not a typical "proudness", it's "greed" and "fascination". And the second one is also a villain line, but it may seem innocent that he knows that something more is about to happen, but it wouldn't make sense. How, and why, are they about to get a lot crazier? Maybe perhaps he planned it. He made us stay all day long doing the tasks and collecting things to give more time to the rainbow friends, the experiments, to catch us. But he then gives up when the lights are turned on and he just excused us. The balloons are also a trap to get Blue to catch them, one last try, and purple trying to catch us in vents if we mess up. Think of it. The balloons just seemingly somehow began falling down onto the sharp objects so they pop, but why so randomly? That's the reason he says those lines, he's impressed, but he needs them, and so he lets the rainbow friends escape to try and chase us down. Then we go to Odd World, thinking that we're now free and alright, but as we get there, they're at our backs.

Edit 2: Hints pointing to Rainbow Friends being experiments are: Why would normal mascot people attack people in the first place?, How can they be alive anyway if they are robots?, Why would purple hide?, How can green possibly be blind if it isn't a real person that has eye sight problems and such?

Here's my story. Kind of similar to the one in the video.
Rainbow friends was a big company, ran by an old man who wanted family's to smile! But when Odd World opened, many customers left. Execpet one. Blue and the rainbow friends wernt human, instead. Robots that soon developed a mind of their own. The final customer was named Rad. The rainbow friends liked rad as sometimes he stayed overnight. One cold winter night he stayed. That was the night the rainbow friends became blood thirsty, so they put Rad into the red suit, and soon Rad was board with the rainbow friends, so he cut off purples legs and he ran to the vent in fear. Soon, kids (the players) are going to Odd World, but Rad, or now Red, had other plans...

That's a good story but how could they make the robots move like the Rainbow Friends do? Take Green, for example! The way his arms move, that can't be replicated by a robot! And how would they get Purple into the vents? And why does everyone assume that he doesn't have any legs? Sorry if I sound like a Karen, I'm new to this, never played :/
