Tysm for talking abt this. I had an actual similar experience to this, me and my friend were walking down the street to a park near her house and a stray dog came up to us and the dog showed no aggressive behavior so we kept walking with it following close behind, we felt safe. Abt 10 mins later with the dog still walking with us, an older man drove by VERY slowly so we called the dog up to walk with us because he was being kind and we look and feel safer, WITH A STRAY DOG! Anyway we turned into the next driveway even though we didn't know who lived there because to the outside world it looked like we lived there. Thankfully it was an old lady and she made sure we were safe and we found the dogs owner. But it's important to note that with my friend, and with knives and pepper spray we felt safer with a stray dog turning into a strangers driveway.

I am a grandmother and hate that my grandchildren have their pictures on the internet. I am NOT the one who put the pictures up. I always saw the risk in putting their faces out there for everyone to see and be able to identify. I would also never put up a picture that had someone else’s child even in the background. The world is just way too scary a place and this puts kids at risk.

Not exactly safety issue, but definitely a vulnerable and common thing here and related to some things you said. I live in an area where there are SOOOO many MLMs and people working for them.
Last fall was a very hard time for me and my family for a variety of reasons. Well, I was at Target, I think I was buying things for my daughter’s birthday. And a woman stops me to compliment my old Disney T-shirt. Which led to a conversation just about Disney (huge Disney adult here). She was super nice and friendly. I thought I was making a friend. She then asks for my phone number to meet up sometime. I said sure and we exchanged phone numbers.
Well not 2 hours later she asks if I would like to join her “team” and I immediately went through the conversation and saw all the red flags I didn’t see beforehand. Given they were more hidden than anything but after asking if I would join her team I knew it was a MLM business attempt. I started crying and was so upset. I thought I was making a new friend and turned out I was being taken advantage of for business. Well I told her I wasn’t interested and have not heard from her since, thankfully. Months later, on a local FB mom group, I come to find it is common at our local Target for moms to feel like they are making a new friend only to find out it is a MLM move. So gross. And now I am more hesitant to talk to people, even to compliment someone or tell someone they dropped something, which is sad.

A bear won't hit you in the face with a brick if you won't give it your phone number.
A bear won't stalk you if it told you you're pretty and you said you weren't interested.
A bear won't pretend to be kind to get you to lower your guard.
A bear won't lock you in a basement for months to torture you.
A bear generally won't bother you if you're not bothering it.
If you encounter a bear, it will almost always retreat slowly because it means you no harm.
If you do get attacked by a bear and you say so, people will believe you.
No one will ask you what you were wearing that made the bear attack you. No one will ask you how much you had to drink.
No one will ask you what you were thinking, being in the woods. No one will ask you if you even tried to fight back.
No one will ask you if you led the bear to believe you wanted to be attacked.
No one will condemn you for not fighting back harder.
No one will arrest you for harming the bear.
No one will say you deserved the attack. No one will ask how many bears you allowed to attack you before. The bear won't say you were asking for it. The bear won't say it was consensual. The bear won't try to convince everyone you're lying.
The bear won't get his buddies to maul you too.
The bear won't threaten you to get you to keep the attack a secret.
If you survive a bear attack, you don't have to worry that the bear might be good friends with medical staff or the police.
You won't have to hear that you're making it all up to get attention. You won't have your reputation called into question.
You won't get called a slut. Does anyone need more?

Bear vs man in the woods topic: I’ve heard a man say “I understand the sentiment and I’m sorry women feel this way but take emotions out of it choosing the bear is silly the obvious answer is the man because you have a better chance of fighting him off than a bear” I proceeded to give other predators vs the bear they got a bit out there when he chose the bear over a vampire. When I asked why he said “they have a frontal cortex so they think like a human but they would be faster and stronger and can hunt me” I actually laughed after this because he still didn’t see that those are reason women pick the bear over the man.

We had slowed down to turn off to go back to the main highway from where we were and someone, a female, came running up on the car trying to flag us down and waving at us. I instantly told my friend not to stop and she was like what do you mean we have to go this way...I said Did you not see the girl trying to run up on the car? • @ChantalElysia
      @ChantalElysia Před 21 dnem +2

Great question. I am answering this from the perspective of a voice actor, having been on live streams where this kind of back and forth occured, used a mic to teach groups of people, and having taken classes on post production of audio... Lapel mics require more of a setup and kind of "training" to be "mindful" of so you're not bumping and brushing against it. (Not that I haven't bumped a boom mic before) But you have more freedom to move around and still have quality audio. Often these set ups are plug and play and that makes them easier to use.

In some countries (Like Germany I believe) it is actually illegal to for parents to post pictures and videos of their children on social media as children own the rights to their own image and likeness at birth so those images cannot be posted until the child is old enough to provide informed consent. Of course you can still make private pages for family to visit. Honestly a lot of child content goes viral because it caters to predators which is important to keep in mind. Honestly, there are better systems out there which we could integrate into our own society if we could just keep and open mind.

Like it's not about resolving the conflict. If I saw a bear considering I spend no time at all around them I would terrified. But a man… I’d immediately be cautious but I would instantly be in fight mode. That bear could slap me once and split my scalp open… I’d have a more fair fight with a man. Now if the bear meant me no harm and wasn’t hungry then obviously I’d choose it but again this is with have no information on either. In that case I’ll take on the man… this coming from someone who has suffered trauma from a man for many years. I have learned that in a stressful situation I go into fight mode. Unpopular opinion, I'd rather see a man than a bear. Yes, a bear may just leave me a lone, or it may attack. And yes a man may attack as well. At least with a man, I know I'd have a chance to survive. With a bear attack, I'll be dead. And with a man, I'd also have a better chance of getting out of the woods (assuming I'm lost). No disrespect to the women who chose bear because of situations they went thru to choose that, their feelings are definitely valid. But I hate this question because it just puts ALL men in such a negative light. Not all men are inherently evil!

But another person, Man OR Woman, just might if they know how to get you out. Also, human beings don’t have the physical structure to win a fight against a bear, especially considering their claws and teeth are razor sharp and could easily rip into flesh and bone in seconds, so you may have a better chance of fighting off a Man than a Bear.

If you leave it alone, there is a good chance the bear will leave you alone. If you leave a man alone (aka ignore or don’t respond) there is a chance he will become violent. A bear will kill you fairly quickly (probably less than an hour) with no animosity because it is hungry or protecting its cubs. A man might be friendly and helpful - or he might take you to his secret forest bunker, chain you up and use you as his sex slave for decades. It is impossible to tell which one he is when you first meet them. Also, if the bear attacks and you actually survive, 1. Everyone will believe you. 2. The bear will be punished 100% of the time without worrying about ruining its bright future for “one little mistake.” 3. No one will ask you what you were wearing, if you were drinking, if you told the bear no, or what you were doing in the woods. 4. You don’t have to worry about pregnancy, STDs, or the bear knowing where you live and returning to finish the job.
Too many men insert themselves into the “random man” position in this rhetorical question and get offended immediately. If you would be friendly and helpful, good on you. Please understand that not all men are like you and most act like a “good guy” at first until some perceived slight. They will go from “you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen” to “you’re a fat, ugly slut” in the blink of an eye if you don’t answer his text as quickly as he would like, as if you exist only for him.

@@Auzzy_-jo1qwI literally just googled who's more likely to kill a woman a man or a bear and here are the results: The 750,000 black bears of North America kill less than one person per year on the average, while men ages 18-24 are 167 times more likely to kill someone than a black bear.
If you want to be mad at something be mad at Google, mankind for putting this on Google, or at mankind for literally killing more people than bears.
