I’d like to see her control a nervous horse.These soldiers know exactly how to handle their horses .Although trained to cope with noise some horses are obviously more easily spooked or are possibly new to public appearances. Those mindless morons banging their drums and blowing their whistles are either stupid or just don’t care about what happens to animals or the people in their vicinity.
Sounds like she could do with a few sessions of 'schooling' herself.

Why? Most of the horses like being patted..some even give people a nudge if they don't.. some are real smoochers, and there are only a couple who like to nip. Even the police on duty give the horses a pat if they go near them..if a horse didn't like it, they would let people know very quickly..

Because a few metres to the left is 10 Downing Street (the Prime Minister's residence) and a few more metres to the right are the Houses of Parliament.

There’s a reason why the rate at which mechanical energy is expended is referred to as “horsepower.” A horse is much stronger and has more power than any man so will only be “controlled” if it wants to.
Maybe if idiots didn’t think they were there just to be pawed at or for their photo opportunity then there’d be less reason for a horse to be stressed and act out. Leave the horse alone and don’t do anything to spook it dumbo - it’s not rocket science. It’s a pity no one was controlling her or her ludicrous group.
People are idiots! These horses are large and powerful, well trained and smart. Yet they are still animals and can get spooked. Just like people they do have bad days. Too bad they don't bite on command!
I think they should charge at least $25 per person over 10 just to ride the buses . There are way too many people from loaded buses at least 7 in a line that I could see Way too many people up and down the street Then you have the protesters screaming chanting not making human noise they are not used to The whistles are a big part of spooking the horses If cars are not allowed to slow down in this area, protests should be elsewhere too I wonder if they have to file permits for these protests as some areas of the U.S. if so, the permitting fee for that area should costs thousands of $$

I Think the Death Stares the Guard looked towards that horrible woman say's it all, to think that all that noise that she was apart of would not affect the horse just shows her ignorance and her disrespect in telling the Guard to Control his horse, he did control it or it would have been charging into the crowd.
All of the horses react in different ways to noise levels, some handle it OK some lose their minds some don't like it play up a bit but handle it.

Some people haven’t seen a horse close up
Lots of people haven't had the privilege of seeing a horse up close. Fortunately, I have; and, even still I want to touch every horse I see. However, I know to heed signs, the horse's body language & behavior, and most importantly to ask the rider, if there is one, if it's okay if I approach and if I may touch the horse.
I used to think that people just needed a bit more education about things, but the more I see, the more I think humans are just rude, ill mannered, inconsiderate, entitled and stupid. It's really unfortunate how badly humans are devolving. No wonder I prefer the company of animals.
For the safety of the horses & guards, it's time to put the barricades up permanently. It's too risky not to.
Tourists can still take pictures of the horses and guards from behind the barricades. Not every holiday photo has to have you in it. When did society become so self involved that we must have so many pictures of ourselves.
Perhaps, if it were possible, a guard and horse could be placed in a special area away from the general public, and only those who pay a hefty fee could have a photo with guard and horse. This would allow better flow as well as safety. The proceeds could go to the care of the horses, guards pensions, or charity.
I'm always gobsmacked by the openly stupid behaviour of these tourists around a horse who is obviously irritated by the protestors deliberate annoying behaviour. Yeah lets take a picture with a horse who would like nothing better than to get away from all the irritating drums and whistles!
It’s the whistles again some horse do not like them, Remember their hearing is far better than ours (. Here’s a thought are the ones who aren’t affected suffering from partial deafness. They are interested you can see by their ears forward and head raised in the direction). They are used to banging and shouting, cheering and sounds if brass bands but seldom are bands using pea whistles in their instrumentation ( perhaps the protestors who use them know this as the idea of protest is to bring attention to the cause and if they annoy the right people get their way! )
First sensible answer i have seen reguarding the horses and the noises from the protests.. seen so many say the horses need retraining because they are spooking at flags, drums etc..

I also have the common sense to know that a horse has feelings and that if a horse isn't feeling something then no amount of control is going to stop it. Some people just don't use their brains logically!! Oh and don't use their manners either....you just don't heckle a soldier!!!!
They ought to make it a rule that the horses cannot be touched by tourists at all. It's just plain ridiculous what tourists do with the horses. Take your picture and leave. No loitering allowed.

They are headed for either the Houses of Parliament (to the right of Horse Guards) or Downing Street and the Prime Minister (to the left). So Whitehall is the optimum place to demonstrate. But, yes, if they had any respect, they'd lay off the drums and whistles until they were past.

It's my opinion that the shrill whistles being blowed + the loud drums which freak out these beautiful horses. Watch & you'll see the closer they get, the more loud. & obnoxious it becomes. All the horses just want away .😢

The horse is reacting to a protest or whatever is coming up the street. Sometimes they take the horses in because of the noise.
And to the woman who said to the guard, "Control your horse, man", you need to learn to control your mouth & keep your child away from a horse that is obviously unsettled. Some people are so stupid! They can see that the horse is already stressed, yet, they still try to get close to pet the horse.
