- The life of DUSM Thomas M. Weeks Jr. was celebrated during a memorial service held in Charlotte, NC., May 6, 2024. Weeks, 48, of Mooresville, died in the line of duty on April 29 when a suspect opened fire on law enforcement officers while serving a warrant, killing Weeks and three others. U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland and Director Ron Davis of the U.S. Marshals Service delivered remarks at the memorial service.
