That's why I prefer to stay comfy inside the office, even in free roam games.
Both because I am scared, but also because they sadly don't have much gameplay aside from hiding in a corner or simple tasks.

Interesting dynamic.
In traditional FNAF games, the office feels dangerous to be in. You’re trapped in one spot, with shoddy doors and crappy lights being your only true defense, and a power grid that runs off of two lithium AA batteries.
In free roam style FNAF games, your natural instinct is to go to the office and hide there. It’s the place where you are the safest. Sure, the power is still crappy and in this game specifically you have no lights and windows, but the option of free roaming doesn’t mean you will. In fact, you won’t wander around unless it is your last resort, running away and hoping to lose the animatronics (probably why this fangame has so many new rooms with corners, to break the line of sight to increase your odds)

He got into the room, there's a system for a 'delayed jumpscare' so Freddy waited for him to either put down the camera or for an invisible timer to complete.
None of the main animatronics can teleport.

what probably makes a free roam fnaf game so scary is the fact that you feel like you know the game's gimmicks already, being you played the original fnaf 1. then you turn around and suddenly something's about to ambush you.
I think the reason they freeze temporarily when you look at them is because that was how the cams used to work, it would slow the normal ones down and pretty much freeze Foxy unless he is viewed for too long

what if there was a fnaf remake but you work in the day shift. you’re in charge of dealing with the animatronics acting up as if it was how they acted at night.. and you either have to make it look normal, protect yourself, or “repair” them. make this happen!!!

There's a strategy for Freddy. I don't know if they implemented that mechanic into this game, but it was in the original game.
Every time Freddy laughs, he moves. You would see his glowing eyes in every camera. There's no way to stop him or slow him down. Once he gets to the right door (or, in this game, either door), he stays for the rest of the night. The strategy is actually to keep the door open. ONLY close it when you look at the cameras, then open the door to conserve power. The door was open when Ryan was in the cameras, so that's why Freddy came through the door and jumpscared him.
Maybe Freddy doesn't like being watched when he moves through the door? I dunno, but that's the strategy to beat Freddy. He's a difficult foe to deal with if you're unsure of how his mechanics work, but he's easy once you know :)
You can slow Freddy down by camera stalling

Off topic but Ryan should definitely think about finishing Omori, youtube may not like some of the concepts in the game but its still an incredibly well made game that has in my opinion the most emotional story I've ever seem in any video game ever. The way the game conveys trauma is so realistic and it really sets it apart from
any other media. Really worth the time and effort as the game leaves a lasting impact on you as all the most amazing stories in media do.

fun fact/tip: If freddy sees you he will lock onto your location hence why he was camping the door and when you were running around he went exactly to you but if he doesnt see you, you have to predict what and when to close the doors so he doesnt get in and or see you lmfao
and foxy when he is running and making that loud sound you can shine your flashlight to make him reset and stand still. you can also look at him on the cameras to temporarily stop his movement.
