I go to school at UW (love it) and if you have class in a part of campus that haven't really been at before then you can get lost, but that will happen anywhere. If you don't know where the class is, just go find it the day before the quarter starts or something like that.

Does anyone have any advice for affording this school as an out-of-state student? :( It really is my dream school, excluding the cost. It doesn't look like out-of-state students have much luck with financial aid, either.

I live 20 minutes away from the campus. I've ben their for avid field trips and it's so beautiful, it's my dream school for sure.

As a veteran I feel that quarters would be a better calendar to go off of than semesters. If you use the post 9/11 gi bill then u don't get bah during the breaks so quarters seem like they would help u take less time off and help you focus on only 2,3 classes at a time.

Are Tacoma and Bothell campus also UW?
UW is a large university system in the state of Washington. Think of it as a company organization. When you say UW you are most likely referring to the Seattle location (the one you see in the video). UW-Seattle is the main campus of UW System and the most prestigious and heavily funded. Yes, there is a UW-Tacoma and UW-Bothell and UW technically owns them. The UW system tries to be like the University of California (UC) System but unfortunately, unlike the UC System, the disparity in funding and opportunities between the UW locations are noticeably greater. I highly advise you to apply to all three locations but if you're in high school and wanting the best opportunity for you and are concerned about application fees (US$80 for each application), UW-Seattle is probably where you wanna put your money. From what I know, UW-Seattle has the lowest acceptance rate out of the three (50% acceptance compared to about 80% at Tacoma and Bothell). If you're concerned about that but want a program that is only at the Seattle location, look to see if UW functions like a college consortium and if they'll allow you to take courses at different locations. I'm certain they'll also let you transfer campuses after your Sophomore year too if you're really interested in Seattle but think you can only attend UW-Tacoma or Bothell, although please verify this. I hope this helped explain things.

I'm going to Tacoma because it's closer to where I live. but I recommend Seattle. it's bigger and a lot of beautiful buildings. also other places to check out outside of uw Seattle.

Going to this school as it has such a good law program, but it's a shame when the first thing they mention is Liberal Arts.
I hate being an american. Out-of-state tuition is more expensive than in state tuition. I am from California. I would have loved to go to the University of Washington if I was from Washington.

I'm sorry to say, but the majority of the people in the comment knows nothing about what UW is looking for in a student. It is not about the GPA that matters most, but how much that student is inspired to learn and improve themselves. I live in Seattle Washington, and I just recently got accepted there to pursue my bachelor degree.
