I'm so sorry you didn't like yolk at all lol 😭 it was one of my favorite books of last year... But I completely understand what's hateable about it, I mostly saw positive reviews though so it was fun to hear your thoughts 😂 for why I did like it- I guess it was some of the reasons you didn't? I liked that it wasnt that healing and was just messy (and definitely toxic). It's not an uplifting read for me, it's a miserable vibe and most of the characters are unlikeable but that's my thing I guess 💀

I just really like books about extremely toxic people & toxic relationships w no "satisfying" resolution. I'm so sorry you didn't like yolk at all lol 😭 it was one of my favorite books of last year... But I completely understand what's hateable about it, I mostly saw positive reviews though so it was fun to hear your thoughts 😂 for why I did like it- I guess it was some of the reasons you didn't? I liked that it wasnt that healing and was just messy (and definitely toxic). It's not an uplifting read for me, it's a miserable vibe and most of the characters are unlikeable but that's my thing I guess 💀

I haven't read Yolk but is it bad that your rant review might've just put it near the top of my tbr 😂 Bc most of the reasons you had for why you hated it sounded exactly like reasons I would love it personally. I just really like books about extremely toxic people & toxic relationships w no "satisfying" resolution. This is definitely one of my toxic traits but I think stories like that are just so much more rooted in reality than having every question answered & the ending tied up in a big red bow. In short, I like to make myself miserable by reading about miserable ppl in miserable situations LOL
