I feel like with war and peace reading little by little is totally ok. Have u considered you maybe a bit over pushing it? Like it is a hard book and what I’ve realized that Emmie had LOADS of experience with classics as a person who tried to read the odyssey and was like “but emmie loved it and she did it so easily” . I think we may need to allow ourselves go little by little.

@@throneofpages This year I’ve been taking the jump of not being afraid of writing in my books so I definitely will! Both sets of earrings were to cute! I especially loved the kid on the swing. I don’t wear much jewelry except my wedding ring and maybe plain earring but I’ve also been trying to find cute accessories.

I saw someone else already recommended fruits basket which I also recommend! It is a bit darker though when you get more into the story. I also highly recommend kimi ni todoke, kamisama kiss, and say I love you!

It dosen't have to be read quickly, this is hard book to read and it's over thousand pages long, so it okey. What exactly is stopping you from reading it? The pages or the writing style? Are you enjoying the story over all?

also for war and peace, i think i'm not connecting with the story anymore? like the historical aspect is very prominent on this book so if you aren't an avid fan or student of russian history you might find it hard to follow the story and the significance of certain moments :(

Hey! I wanted to ask you a question very sincerely. Do you think your thinking and creative skills have improved since the read a thing? And maybe your vocab? I’ve been trying to find the time to do one myself and have started a “book club” with my sister to reinvigorate my love for reading. When I was a child I would read anything, manga, books, recipe books, dictionaries, newspapers and magazines, I would read fiction and manga until the sun came up and have no qualms about it.
I realised not only was my vocab better than everyone my age, I could respond quickly, I was very eloquent, I was able to think very creatively and throughout the day I could solve problems quickly - and even won some contents for reading and writing! As I got more into CZcams content I stopped reading. And now, I feel like I can’t hold a proper conversation, I forget normal words and I’m a content writer so I still have the knack for creative storytelling, but it’s really not as good as it can be. Which is why I’m starting a blog to also develop my writing.
I really miss that feeling of accomplishment after reading a book. Someone to talk to develop my thoughts after reading a page turner, that feeling that you’ve just consumed ART.
ANYWAY - do you think it has helped you? Do you think note taking is a good way to do this too? I have set up my notion for book reviews because of you and Ali Abadan and have forced myself to save to Instapaper so they can go directly into my notion. But I’m struggling to find the time. I need my brains to reconfigure and stop eating so much CZcams!
i'm so late to this and i'm sorry for that but i 10000% believe that doing reading challenges or readathons as well as annotating and note taking has helped me develop my critical thinking as well as expand my vocabulary!! i understand the struggle of trying to find the time but it's all about setting yourself realistic and reachable goals and consistently working on it!!

I finally caught up with all your videos after coming back from Greece! This video was so cute and I'm really excited to start reading the Atlas Six as a buddy read! I think that reading War and Peace very slowly is not a bad thing, don't push yourself, only read as long as you enjoy it and make sure to take breaks!
