  • In this video I cut into my coins by laying out the reasons why you should just buy whatever I use.

    Ultimately, I just want people to decentralize products and feel empowered to make their own informed purchase decisions.

    At the end of the day I like products that perform with the skills and techniques I have at this point. Giovanni was a good starter brand for me to learn basic concepts of proper cleansing, conditioning and styling on a regular basis but I liked the performance of other things over the years and swapped them out but in honesty my hair would perform better now with those products because my hair is just in better conditon.

    Technique over everything else. Side note: After all these years, Giovanni is still the truth though 😂

    I’ve found my staples and every now and then I’ll try something new but finish the container before buying something else.

    Best advice ever. Thank you.🙏🏽
    2+ years into my natural hair journey and I’ve come full circle. The products highly recommended by a friend who is a stylist that worked super well when I first started out, are the core products that really work on…with…for my hair. So, I keep it simple and that is what I use.
    That magic product craze, it’s real and I unplugged from it have been cured from the natural hair consumerism bug. My hair is far happier and me too.
    Blessings to you you, Kayla💕

    This is great advice! The climate in your location can also affect the results people get even if they use the same product and techniques.

      Without a doubt! This stuff I use for humidity is too much elsewhere!

    Thank you for your video. Hair health is superior over products any day . I have been focusing on my hair health issues and to remedy these before buying into the product hamster wheel .😅

    Thanks for this video. For Obia Curl Enhancing Custard, is that a gel you would use in the summer/when it's humid? Thanks.

    • @WhatTheKink
      @WhatTheKink  Před měsícem +1

      YES! It has a lot of oils to keep that xanthan gum from flaking so it tends to fair better in humidity. Just make sure you use enough to set the hair to your liking.
      I have also topped it with Paul Mitchell volume gel (purple) for an extra shield.

      @@WhatTheKink It's funny that it was like water on my hair!
      I live in a highly hot and humid industrial city (Lagos, Nigeria) and the only thing that works is any gel with strong plasticisers like Wetline and Göt2b

    • @WhatTheKink
      @WhatTheKink  Před měsícem +1

      @@uberhaute_naturalz84 DEFINITELY! Especially since the temperature, humidity %, and dew point tend to differ only by a few between there and here.
