    How to Make Yummy Chocolate Lego Figures
    In this episode of In the Kitchen with Matt, I will teach you how to make Amazing Yummy Chocolate Lego figures. These little chocolate lego men are super easy to make, all you need is the chocolate and some lego molds. All you really need to do is melt the chocolate and then place it in the molds and let the chocolate set, and then you will have chocolate lego figures! I used chocolate candy melts, but you can use whatever chocolate that you want. They taste yummy, anyone can make them. It is a great activity to do with kids, and these are one toy, that your kids can definitely eat!

    Be Quiet? You threatened to eat the poor little guy! I'm sure there's a felony in there somewhere! These are so very cool! They looked awesome when finished. Next Christmas I am gonna make them. Of course, only you could have come up with such an outlandish concept, but I for one, am glad that you did. They will go down so well at any kiddies party. I shall be passing this recipe onto family and friends with children; they'll love it.

      +Ana Laurie Campos Hi there!! Yes you should be able to. As long has you use some sort of divider, for instance I use parchment paper to keep the chocolate from going to other portions of the mold. :)

    Ahhh! This made me uncomfy haha. As much as I like the idea, putting chocolate in the microwave and then fridge made me squirm. You should temper chocolate, melt it over a bowl of hot water and you should tap the mould to remove bubbles and then leave it to set at room temp!

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Před 2 lety

      Amber, first of all, don't let videos make you uncomfy that is just silly. Most people are not going to want to temper chocolate. It isn't necessary either if you are going to store the chocolate in the fridge. But that is beside the point those are candy melts, you don't temper candy melts because there is no cacao butter in them, they don't require tempering. Using the microwave to melt chocolate is perfectly fine and candy melts are designed to be melted in the microwave, but of course, you can always use the double boiler method on the stovetop. Putting them in the fridge makes them set quicker as well. I work with chocolate and candy melts ALL the time. :)

  • @SharonePowell

    Loved the video, but actually doing these was not that easy at all. And out of 12 Lego men, 6 ended up with a severed head when gently removed from the mold. I'm trying to fix them now. I'm a really good cook, but this takes a lot of patience!

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Před 8 lety +1

      +Sharone Powell Thank you! mmm I don't seem to have a problem with mine, I haven't ever gotten a severed head, but if the head does come off, pretty easy fix, just take a little dab of melted chocolate/candy melt and use it like glue. It definitely takes patience if you want to have different colored heads, that is for sure!

    • @SharonePowell

      So I just made some dark chocolate men and they came out fine then I tried the yellow headed variety (since I now find I can colour white chocolate with sugarflair gel) and hey ho! the heads have come off. I'm not exactly an amateur- I've been cake decorating for 40+ yrs... must be the couverture chocolate as opposed to 'candy melts'... So take heed. This may only work with CHEAP chocolate. (!)

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Před 8 lety

      You could be right, maybe the yellow candy melt has a hard time sticking to the "real" dark chocolate. Easy fix, though, just dab a bit of chocolate on the head and stick it back on and let it set, like glue! haha. Takes more patience for the the yellow head variety. And absolutely if you find a better way to make yellow heads with a different body let me know!! The parchment paper method works really well for me, but again, I usually just use candy melts for these.
