How to Replace Ninebot Max Plastic Locking Ring Stop Collar

A few days after receiving my new MAX, I forgot to unlatch the latch when folding. The plastic broke (bent/cracked). Couldn't find any instructions to replace it, but did find replacements on Amazon for around 10 bucks. Segway site was out of stock. Hopefully this is helpful for others who may have to change out their lock ring!

please tell me, do you know what the name of the black cylindrical shaped horizontal bolt with the screw hole thru it is called? , its about 1cm wide and 5ml diameter, that sits inside the lever? the little screw with the little black nuts on it, drives into it that holds the whole stem together from collapsing . mine has cracked. now the stem wont stay upright because the screw can't stay fastened into it. I cant see how to get it off, so maybe I have to replace the whole lever? much appreciated 💖

hey, i have a ninebot max aswell but the plastic has barely any damage but it’s very loose i drove a long way and came home with the pin out knowing that the handlebar could have folded and i could have been hurt myself is there any fix the screw is 100% screwed in

My collar didn't crack, but it somehow turned too far and I can't turn it back, nor can I even unfold the scooter and lock it with the metal lock bc the plastic is in the way. How do I rotate it without breaking it?

To be honest I don't think it does anything. It's SUPPOSED to be a safety latch of some kind in case the folding mechanism itself would open mid ride, but as it breaks from just accidentally trying to open it with the latch in, it will definitely break in such accident as well.

Exactly what I thought when I almost snapped it off. Otherwise so far this thing is built like a tank..I'm only a week or two in and that has been my only issue (knock on wood)
