  • In this episode I install an Empi front disc brake kit, bleed brakes etc. I have been wanting to try this kit for some time so quite exciting to finally purchase it. I unbox the kit and go through what is included and then proceed to fit it to my 1964 classic beetle. If you haven't seen already the previous episode I show how to remove the old drum brakes. Hope you enjoy this and may help you with your upgrade. Please don't forget to like and subscribe. Jamie
This is the kit that I used in the video. Click the link below.

THANK YOU. This is the only video or instruction that I could find that told what those spacers in the back were for. I thought maybe they were some goofy bearing race (well I was warm)

i recommend disk brakes all around, its night and day difference. plus, better brakes makes your Bug feel even more like a gokart. man Bug are so fun to drive, especially with some HP

Thank you very much for the video and tips for disk brake conversion! EMPI's instructions that come with the kit are vague as hell!

  • @JosephDR

Great video. I have the same torque wrench! 😆

  • @vintage76vipergreenBeetle

    Nice job.

Thanks, I have a 66 Aussie Beetle with the older type tie rods, a real pain to align my steering after fitting 2 1/2” dropped spindles, after a month I removed the spindles and fitted the old ones back, another pain to align back, but I’m leaving it stock now, but would like to fit front disc brakes, cheers for your video.

very easy job as it is just plug n play. If you have money, everything can be realized. What's unique is if you don't have money but you can use trash to convert your bugs with disc brake 🤣

Hi, which kid did you buy, the only one I can find by Empi has dropped spindles for a 1954 beetle.

  • @garyjones2582

If you freeze the bearing races, they almost fall in... Nice work....

  • @benkanobe7500

Excellent! Thank you. I have a '73 Standard Bug and will be doing the same thing. I would love to see your paint all buffed out. Is it original paint?

  • @DriftAllDay63vw

Hey quick question how did you take off your grease cap on your disc brake and what tool did you use to take it off???
