Samurlie 2 no, Christian Slater was the original JD in the movie version of heathers
I think dan made the character more pitiful, whereas Ryan really emphasizes the sociopathic nature of JD. Dan’s version has more emotional expression and Ryan’s version has all these little deadpan moments which are really cool. I love seeing how different actors can take the same role different ways. (For the record, I don’t think one is better than the other, so don’t come for me, but I do like Ryan’s portrayal more)
Also, Ryan is a beaut

I prefer Ryan to Dan, but I also prefer Jamie from the west end version to all of them. He’s terrifying, hot, and it’s incredible.

Yeah I believe that this is for an event so he knew he had to prepare before enabling to perform it so well. Whilst she was doing it I think as just a time-passer/ after a vocal warm up in between shows. Either way they both still sing it amazingly
Barrett didn’t have the time to prepare, she was doing DEH for 2 years before that video was taken so it’s understandable that she had to look at the lyrics again (She was Zoe when the cast was doing the workshops and stuff off broadway)

This is incredible! His flawless sharp singing, the way he gestures and establishes himself as bitter and full of underlying hate while still not having gone over the edge completely leaves me in awe. And his introduction was great - that's as fucked up as JD is.
