I'm crying and I'll tell you why. I started listening to Marilyn when I was in my teens. I was called a freak for listening to a white man who hated black people and was a racist. I told everyone he's not racist he makes music for everyone. He was like a drug to me even though my sister called me evil and a devil worshipper I couldn't stop listening to him. It's like he knew me and I didn't have to pretend to be someone I wasn't. I could be happy with the violent sexual lyrics he was spitting and no one could understand why and I was happy with that. The fact that I could understand and no one else could. Now so many years later here is a black woman in his video... And I'm still Loving this man at the age of 36. Rock on bitches.

These are very shocking indeed. The difference between between MM and those is that those bands claim to be satanic (trust me on this), whereas MM portrays rebelliousness against God and religious figures without entirely wanting anyone to become satanic. I don't fancy myself the idea of loving a God who allows so much cruelty, war and chaos take over the world. Ps. The German band is Rammstein, one of my favorite bands in industrial metal apart from NIN.

I've been listening to Marilyn Manson since 8th grade. I was forced to hide it during a few unfortunate years at a Christian school. Now that I'm older his music is still pure poetry, with even more meaning-except now I don't have to hide it. I remember asking them why it was bad and I was told his music was "evil" and it would let the devil inside 😆 Thirteen years later I'm still only a caring, compassionate RN who appreciates real artistic talent and rocking out before my shift!
