Chopper gunner looks Op as heck for VERY CLOSE air support.
Armed with machine guns, Gatling guns or armed with a automatic grenade launcher. And sometimes with rockets.
The way the bullets hit the ground like if somebody just threw a grenade there.

You forgot the chopper gunner killstreak in ghosts. It was a field order in one of the DLC maps, the one with a boat in the nighttime.
also in AW does the warbird not count as a chopper gunner but just futuristic?

Warbird in AW looks like a VTOL Jet than a Chopper. Ghosts dlc... never used it, sorry.
