@@joeschlotthauer840 Yes, the partner stole a lot of unaccounted cash as Mickey trusted him at first. They were the first to promote the huge indoor motorcycle races with massive amounts of dirt brought in to make the courses. The poor guy and his wife were gunned down one morning on the way to work. I have two documentaries on this. As they brought out the car they were both shot in the front yard. They traced the killers down to two that came from Jamaica for the job but it took forever to try and get them and one think died and the other never was brought to justice at the time of the documentary. The trails of this lead back to the partner who was convicted. Mickey was an incredible hard honest worker his whole life with his wife. Also an incredible innovator and racer for his time. If he went after something he usually won.

Noooo! I wanted to hear the damned thing! Watching an engine run is one thing, hearing it is the most important part. You can't see what's going on inside an engine when they're running, aside from some novelty vids. The soul of an engine is in the sound. It's how you know it's living. I know it's how an engine affects the physical world through HP, torque and speed for most people but for me the sound is essence of,, sorry, great video and beautiful car. You guys are amazing.

Years ago, I used to help a guy build 440 MOPAR based motors at 14:1 for his Coyote.....man, that was some CRAZY stuff back then when MOST of the run up the hill was gravel. Its ALL paved now, which is sad, really.....

I remember that Mickey Thompson had a shop in the Long Beach California area. My Dad passed it everyday going to work . It was next door to a place that strength tested ropes and lifting slings to see how much they could take before they failed. I think it was on Anaheim St. but since that's been over 50 years ago I just might be wrong about the street name. Mickey's building was a faded baby blue color and it just said Mickey Thompson on the door and nothing else.
