    I suppose we can wash mussels in the same way? Oh! I've always been very confused with different versions, some contradicting one another! Thanks so much for this video; I trust your version!

      Hi Valery. Washing mussels is different. Mussels don't have mud in them as they don't live in mud. However, they have 'beard' on their shells. So you just need to pull off all the beard before you wash them. No soaking is required. Hope this helps!

    Hi chef Roland, i have a large batch of clams, like to wash them clean before freezing them to cook them in small portions in future. Is it ok to wash clean before freezing? Thanks!

      Hihi. You can clean first but I would advise you to poach them for about 2 mins before freezing them. This is to get rid of the bacteria first. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!

    If I bought the clams to be cooked only for dinner, do I soak it then whole time till ready for cooking or do I need to keep changing water every hour? Tks

      Oysters without the shell.. I would wash it with salt and some water. A lot of dirt and slime would come out. Wash them until water turns clear

    where did you buy your clams from? I always feel like the ones at cold storage are already dead and not fresh

    I had some bad experience of cooking clams that were actually filled with mud. How do we fish out these as it was sealed tightly like a live clam?

    Use hot water from the tap and the clams will open up. Not boiling water unless you want to cook it.

    My mom would soak clam with a some oil in there for about 30 minutes to 1 hour and there’s never any sand after.

    You could add some sesame oil to make them puke out the sand. For a few hours at least.

    Thise clams are a hard shell clam. Theres hardly no sand in thise clams.. soft shell clams are the ones u have to let sit in water for them to spit the sand out. Not hard shell clams. If anyone gets soft shell clams I highly suggest putting them in water and mixing them in cornmeal. Put in fridge over night then rinse thoroughly with water. Then put ur ingredients in pot and steam the soft shell clams and just eat them when their done.. trust me. U will be thanking me later.. I know a lot about seafood
