Hi Todd, great vid! You were right,,it WAS interesting,,very interesting indeed! The lack of bullshit ( i.e.red tape ) laws is very appealing. None of the various ways of emigration sounded too tough,,,I'd say the common theme,,not just for Lao, but all over S.E. Asia,,is,,,,,,ya gotta listen,,ya gotta be patient,,and you have to get the idiocy out of your mind that ,,,if they dont do like back in Merica,,its just wrong,,,plus be patient,,lol. And once again,,it showed the kind, sweet attitude of not just those Hmong villagers,,,but generally,,,the people of Lao. Very cool mate! Your friend,,too,,is rocking kind of an understated intelligence. I think he is very smart,,,I think he has a great memory. Tell him thanks for covering all that information. Hope you have a great week,,,Ttyl,,,Marlon
Hi guys!!
This is Bobby Dewan from India 🇮🇳
It's one vary informative blog that you maid This time. I am sure so many people will be happy by watching this blog that way they can take nessasary steps to do business or to seek PR in Laos. My wife and myself have a long dream to do business in Laos. We suppose to go Laos last year to do feasibility study for business but unfortunately it was postponed for Covid. Anyway please convey our best wishes to Neenee and stay both of you safe. 🙏❤

This gentlemen has a lot of knowledge and experience. Incredible advice he is giving out
Again Chris is easy to listen to - interesting info about laws etc. beer Lao everywhere - everyone happy 👌😎👍🙏
again very informative, thanks Todd for doing a 2nd interview. I would definitely need to speak more of my language
Very enjoyable video Todd. Keep them coming. Cheers!!!
More to come!
Very useful information! Thank you both for explaining :)
Hi Todd. What a wonderful vlog and a very insightful look at Laotian culture. Chris has captured what we in the west have lost. It's on my bucket list to visit. Thank you again for allowing us to enter your world.
Love watching your video very informative
Thanks for watching!
Cheers Todd! The more I watch your's & Neenee's channels the more I'm attracted to Laos. I really wish I had traveled there when I was traveling. I thought I'd found a gem of a place in Viet Nam but Laos is more than just stunning. This episode has increased my interest even more as the sense of 'community' there is very much alive. Chris's information (and mindset) has been helpful in understanding much about Laos. Thanks mate, love ya work. Baby Buddha at the end has given me a lasting smile....so cute (all the children there are).
Good video cheers mate 😎👍👍👍👍👍
what a good video!
wow so amazing
We really enjoyed the Village video. Jim
Thanks Jim 👋
Hey mate once again brilliant content, might set up a business in Lao selling Go Pro holders for bikes!!😂. btw was that Chris on the harmonica during the vid? He is very good.
He is a whiz on the harmonica!
Sharing cucumber is the best. Love it!
Good video and thanks for visiting us Hmong
Chris has great knowledge on this and seems to be really chilled about it all. If you ask a foreignor here they are not so friendly and helpful
My grandparents had a well like that in Tennessee
Thanks Todd and Chris. Very helpful. If there is such thing as a soul country, Laos is my country. So glad I have spent lots of time in Laos and can speak a bit of language. You are doing well Todd. You know lots of words that create friendship!
A foreigner on a documentary I heard a long time ago said, some countries are advanced in technology, but Lao is advanced in the souls. Now also advanced in technology because of smartphones. Did you know that Lao has a bitcoin place?
always enjoyable sitting down to watch your videos when i'm not running around in my busy life...haha i was born in laos so i guess if i want to retire in laos it wouldn't be much of a problem which is nice to know..and when that guy was showing you the water canals and walked by those ladies they asked him where you guys were going and he said "wants to see the water, the french friend up there that knows how to speak lao this is his friend" saying it in a tone like only the foreigner and the kids would be interested in seeing it haha
Hey brother great content today good information for me planning on visiting some homies I grew up with in Hawaii that now resides there in Laos ..keep up the good work mate
Cheers mate.. 👍
Really interesting information about opening a business...easier than here

I love that little guys thrasher shirt. I don’t know if anybody there knows it’s a skater magazine. Super cool.
The woven walls and the high wooden home looks just like here
💯 nice
👍 I look forward to every video you post 👍
You are a legend - haha
I appreciate that!
Todd is a legend indeed! I’m very thankful for being in his videos
ANother great video mate - love the villiage imagery
How cool was that stream the Hmong kids were playing in!? Why didn't we have shit like that when we were kids!
@@NowinLao how the hell did you not go in it? Wtf bro.
@@jamesmathers6204 yeah I know.. 😏
Hey! I want to live in Lao too!
Great info 😀👌
Looks like it maybe be possible to get residency after all in a few years💪
Iv often wondered how expats use their money in laos without using cash, as I see most money transfer apps don't work for laos and those that do, or atms, have high fees or bad conversion rates.
I also always thought I couldn't import things from Thailand to laos, though I just found online it is possible though most items incur a 10% -20% fee. So I may be able to some handy items next time to bring out to the country. Also apparently educational items don't incur import tax so it could be possible to bring laos-english text books etc 😀
I look forward to finally getting back to laos 🙏🇱🇦
Great informative video! (You'll be pleased to know I'm fully clothed.)
sok dii der
Thank F#@& for that! 😝
todd.... the tree with the small round red fruits is a jamaican cherry also known as a strawberry tree. there is another species of tree also called a strawberry tree but has different fruit. the taste in your case is described as cotton candy with brown sugar. i grew one of these in florida.
Cheers mate
Fantastic shows! How do I get Chris information
How's things ? Crappy, but it is what it is , stay safe ,
Hang in there champ 🍺
Nice country 😋🌎😋
Great video with great content once again. Chris' wealth of information about Laos and its immigration laws is amazing. I hope that he will pop in from time to time in the videos. I do have one question that popped up for me. Laos has so few laws and as stated few lawyers, (How wonderful it must be to live in a country with few lawyers) so is there a court system in Laos to settle disputes. I mean here in the states you can pretty much take someone to court just for looking at you funny.
Yes there is a court system based in the capital Vientiane which also travels to all 18 provinces to settle rulings, it’s a bit slow though…
Best is to settle in a friendly manner rather than going to court which is what most people do except for crimes
@@chrisb-mv9qi Thank you for the info. 👍

for a long time I was thinking about moving to some Far East country, Laos was also considered, wonder if would be hard to find a quiet place , some village, close to nature where I can find a place to stay 3 to 6 months , learn local life and language, before I'll find out and decide if Laos is really for me.
Chicken wings(Buffalo, hot, etc.) here are about a $1 a piece; 60 cents on wing night(no exaggeration). You got a whole chicken and 4 beers for $4.60. A dozen wings and 4 beers here is 18-24 bucks. Interesting that they have no postal service. That irrigation looks fun as hell. We had fish steps near where I grew up that we did that with. Good stuff, Todd. Chris knows his shit.
Can confirm.....wings are generally $1 each in rural Virginia, USA. A typical 16 oz. IPA will set you back $5-$8, depending on the restaurant.
Correction... 1 bird and 6 beers for $4.60 🍺😁🐤
People on average earn about $40 a month though 🤔
@@ejwrigley You're a little bit off. The average wage is closer to $200 a month, but yeah, still not much at all
same in In rural northwestern Connecticut...unwritten "LOCAL" rule #1 if U put something by the roadside ...OR if U leave something clearly unattended ...OR ...looks like abandoned (like in a field) ...OR ...no name attached = FREE ...lol... but it IS true... we leave items by itself /on the side of the road/ by the curb/ or we put a FREE sign/ or if nobody "brings 'IT'= the item" inside ....= FREE 4 the taking... an unwritten rule...(for example, wood, garden implements, nice antique furniture(yup REALLY nice furn), bicycles, office furniture, appliances, weed wackers, lawn mowers, little & BIG machinery etc...sorry about your pump, but
There's a saying for the hmong people. In the village there's a family with only one pig but they have pork to eat year round. How? When time to eat their pig they invite whole village so when the village eat theirs they invite them.
I heard that the USA just donated a million Johnson and Johnson vaccine to Laos. People are lining up to get vaccinated.
👍
What's the point of the waterbride? at 0:25
Hi Todd
Let me know if Chris’s mate wants to sell a slab or two, I’d be interested. Cheers.
Can Foreigners buy land in Laos Eva personally or through business
How do I get in touch with Chris?
Hey Todd, just wondering about the scooters and bikes. What cc are they? what's the highest cc bike you can own? and why aren't there dirt bikes? It'd make more sense to ride dirt bikes?
Most of the scooters are just small cc, around 110, even though the laws have changed over the last few years and it is now possible to ride large bikes here legally. A dirt bike would handle these roads much better yes, especially out in the villages. I think you will still see the small scooters for a long time to come. They just make more sense around here, at least around the city. They're cheap, can hold many people lol, easy to carry your shopping, much more manoeuvrable and run on an oily rag
Is the Lao government still issuing citizenship to people of Lao ethnicity?
💯🔥💙👍
Hi sir todd we are planning to put up business in laos but we needed help, can you gave us a little of your time for a chat? This would be highly appreciated. Looking forward for this. Thank you so much.

It’s always the good looking foreigner men that always end up living in laos or making a business and or start a family!! Hehe 😜
It's only the good looking ones they allow in 😜

How can I get touch with Chris when I’m down here in Laos next October 2023?

I will bring a Laos juggling skills over there, I can teach people how to juggle for entertainment, I was born in Laos but grow up in America, now I’m us citizens I hope one day I get to go visit Laos and put on a juggling show, Lao juggler
I have Laos blood inside my body😂😂😂😂I work hard because I use to live there working is very important
At a time where people have died due to lack of oxygen cylinders in my country including my mother, there would be no turning back when the borders open to settle down in Laos.
There's no end to temptation and greed. Laos has its sanity.
Hi Todd, I have a question. Can a person with the Laos Permanent Resident Card buy land in Laos with their name on the land title?
Only Lao citizens can do that.
Hi Todd. Is there someway to connect directly with Chris to see what options there might be for me to get back?? Thanks in advance.
Sure Peter.. 👌

".... that's what she said". I couldn't help myself; so juvenile. Glad you didn't mention the Roosters colour. #BBC
Neither could I 😝
In other video he says no need for vaccin to come. Now he says need two injections for moving provinces......
That's correct. You did not need the vaccine to enter Laos (at time of videoing), but if you want to travel freely throughout the provinces, being vaccinated is required.
I am currently dating my boyfriend who is living still in Laos and I am from the US 🇺🇸 ... what are the ways to get into Laos as of now?

Could you start a business recycling all the bombs that American dropped ? When I was there people were using them as garden ornaments
Sure.. Some big interest in these shells now 👌 I like how some villages have used them for the footings of their homes
so the GF part....is it possible to get VISA for that reason? or it has to be from a GF to getting engaged to qualify for a visa
If you have a history of travelling to Laos to visit her, the way I understood it.. yes.
Yes history of visiting Laos or pictures with your girlfriend are necessary
is Pfizer, AZ and Morderna recognised, and available in Laos?
Yes and you now must be fully vaccinated before you can come to Laos
Hey guys how you doing
Morning Rodney 😁
Hey Todd, when you say, "nyob zoo" in Hmong (pronounced phonetically like "nyaw zhong"), you CANNOT raise your tone on the second part, instead it needs to be neutral in tone, otherwise, you completely changed the meaning of the word because the Hmong language is tonal. My Hmong wife confirmed this.
Noted. Was my Ua tsaug (thank you) correct?
@@NowinLao 👍 Close enough to still mean, "thank you." I'm still learning even after 28 years with my wife -- I don't have a gift for languages, only know a handful of words. Tonal languages are hard.
Like Thailand…..just send the Tax man around to collect from villagers….no mail no problem
Sshhhhh!

Question, I don't have a girlfriend, but I meet a lao girl every year in Thailand, now I talk to her on line, can I come for a visit to lao?
Do you have a history of travelling to Laos?
@@NowinLao no, I travel to Thailand every year twice, each one one month.
never been to Lao, it's deadly boring now in Australia, I just want to break away to Lao.
@@nadmal9328 you have traveled to Thailand every year, even travelling to meet a Lao girl there, but never ventured across the border to her homeland.. NOW you want to come here hahahaha Sorry champ, I don't make the rules, but I think you'll know the answer to that 😉

common sense so not many laws - the opposite is true back home
Too bloody right mate!
Lao Laws are not clearly define, look at things from two sides.
Why did those boys have blonde hair?
Some Hmong has that blonde genes.
TUMMY TALK, if you do some research, you will find that way back in history there were some blond, blue eyed Hmong. Unfortunately, they were easy targets for the Chinese to irradicate at the time. In modern times, you can still encounter blondish Hmong with very light skin, but no blue eye.
@@PM-oe5mk Interesting thank you Pat
@@dyaaong6030 Turkic/Mongolic Genetics. Hmong; Turks; and Mongols came from the same place. Hmongs are neither Southeast nor East Asian by genetics. They're actually Central Asians, who are connected to Gokturks and Ancient Mongols (who caused the Chinese to build the Great Walls).
@@PM-oe5mk The only Asians who can be naturally blond-haired are the Turks (Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Turkish, Turkmens, Tajik); Mongols; and Hmongs.
Australian accent is complicated to understand , sorry mate...
Good question. Why westerners want to live in Laos, a third world country. Even those of us who were born there but fled to the US after the Vietnam War, we like to visit but not to live because there not many accommodation in Laos as in the USA. Unfortunately, Laos people treat westerners like you than us. They know that westerners need to be respect. But for us, they still feel that we are them and they can cheat on us and there is nothing we can do. Many of us returned to Laos for businesses or marriages, and almost everyone I know were threatened even by their own relatives, so they came back to the USA.
Talipia sure is all over... there's small petty crimes but less murder unlike here in America 🇺🇸
Do they sell Bud light in Laos
Not everywhere, but yes, I have seen it around
No way, I never doing business in Laos or in Communist countries.
