  • If you're in the business of making candles or about to be in business, you know how important it is to keep track of your materials, supply levels and production runs. At a certain point you need a more streamlined approach to handle this so your expertise can be better used elsewhere and thats why Inventory Management systems for small business candle makers is crucial! There are two main contenders on the market and for the last two years I've been using Craftybase but I finally took the dive into a new (to me) system over the last few months called Inventora. I have a LOT to say about both of these but I narrowed it down to the nuts and bolts that YOU need to know about how to get started on which one is right for you or if you need to make a switch based on what's important to you and your business right now. Which is where I found myself!

    I subscribed to Craftybase early on my journey and I tried adding my inventory early on but it just got so daunting which really discouraged me from continuing. I've been procrastinating on updating my inventory to the point where I'm so far behind now because I have a bunch of inventory. After almost a year, I told myself that I'm really going to focus on getting that together and was planning on doing some research on what other candle makers are using for their inventory system and here your video pops up in my feed! Amazing! And THANK YOU so much! What you've done with your business is so admirable and inspirational to me to keep going., I will give Inventora a try as I don't know why I waited so long! Here's to being a success entrepreneur.

    I know I was hard on you after your previous CraftyBase review video but I was frustrated because I tuned in for functional info to help me make decisions on what way my hobby will go and I didn’t feel that was delivered. Even though I spoke up with frustration I never stopped watching because you are relatable and transparent. I just wanted to reach out again and tell you this video was awesome! Functional info to help me better understand the differences between the programs. Well done and thank you! On a side note, I was just blasted by someone yesterday for being hard on you! I hope I wasn’t too hard on you! I do understand it’s frustrating when things don’t work the way we think they should and it’s easier to blame them then to look at ourselves. Enough about that; thanks again for a very informative video!

    Constructive? Hella Yeah! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I absolutely wanted an inventory system for my Shopify store and now I know which one to choose. Call me crazy, but if an inventory system does not communicate with my store to reflect the current quantity of each item I have for sale….it’s useless! Inventora sounds like just the system I need. Thank you very much for your time and this video, Ashley!

    Hi Ashley! I'm having a lot of issues with my inventory numbers since I integrated square with Inventora. For example: if I had 0 candles in a particular scent, it was changed to 735 of that particular candle, also if I had 20 candles of another scent, it changed it to 0. SMH. Half of my inventory was changed.. I spoke with Square and I was told they did nothing on Inventora. I am still waiting for a call or email back from the Inventora to resolve this emergency I am having. So upset!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @UpsideGoodsCo
      @UpsideGoodsCo  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yes I've run into this and it's a pill. I can't find the exact reason as towards when and why it happens and I will say its very few and far between and a lot less drastic numbers in my case! Keep on Inventora and they should get back to you with a resolution! Good Luck!

    I started with Inventora and am testing the waters in Craftybase. my problem with Inventora is that I have about 120 different scents and 4 different size candles as well as car freshies. Inventora doesn't give you the option to make a "base formula" like craftybase does. you have to enter all materials and amounts manually. also, the website isn't a fan of all my stuff in it, it freezes sometimes and says it's unable to save my change. I like inventoras production system and its option of stock+capacity. if they are able to get it more updated for large-scale business I would for sure go back. It took me about half the time to put things into craftybase vs Inventora. I also had an issue with updating my inventora and it changing my shopify. if you make an error in inventora it causes your shopify/etsy to be incorrect and then trying to fix the mistake is such a headache! not only that, but you can't separate your product inventory. So if I use the production for making vendor booth candles it updates stock in the online platform. I can make the candles " for an order" and it won't but then what I don't sell at the craft fair I can't just add into stock without it messing with my materials.
    My takeaway- Craftybase is good for large scale business and Inventora for small-scale or newly started

    • @elianamckee
      @elianamckee Před rokem +1

      Agree with you. Not to be rude or anything, but Inventora is Kindergarten ( my level) and Craftybase is more High School level!
