  • democracynow.org - In Brazil, the U.S. women’s gymnastics team has pulled off a historic feat, winning the team gold medal by the widest margin of victory since 1960. The five-member gymnastics team is the most diverse the U.S. has ever sent to the Olympics. Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas are African-American. New Jersey-born Lauren Hernandez is of Puerto Rican descent. Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman are white. But Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas and Lauren Hernandez are far from the first American Olympians of color to make history. Today we look at a new documentary that looks at the 17 African-American athletes who, along with noted track and fielder Jesse Owens, defied Jim Crow and Adolf Hitler to participate in the 1936 Olympics held in Nazi Germany. Since then, the story of Owens’s four gold medals has dominated the narrative of African-American achievement in the ‘36 Games. We speak with Deborah Riley Draper, writer and director of “Olympic Pride, American Prejudice.”

This is important American history that we should all be aware of. I'm grateful to this director for shining a light on it, and I look forward to watching her documentary.

They didn't Hitler. Hitler gave Jesse Owens a standing ovation and sent him a hand written letter congratulating him and telling him what a benefit to his race he was.

Jim Crow was the racist. Hitler and Owen's respected each other as Owen's pointed out in his autobiography.

Great American story that promises to show what we did to these noble athletes while there & after they came home. Our treatment of Owens, for instance, was inexcusable, imo.

These black athletes were treated with more respect in Nazi Germany, than back home in the U.S..
Owens was revered by the German people, and signed thousands of autographs for the German people who waited to get his signature. A crowd of 110,000 cheered him on as he smashed the competition. The Germans didn't make him stay in separate quarters or drink and shower from a different source of water.
Lets quote Jesse Owens shall we.
"You can melt down all the medals and cups I have and they wouldn't be a plating on the 24-karat friend ship I felt for Luz Long at that moment" (Jesse Owens)
"When I came back to my native country, after hearing all of the lies about Hitler, I couldn't even sit at the front of the bus, I had to go to the backdoor, and couldn't go where I wanted. I wasn't invited to the white house to shake hands with the President, either."(Jesse Owens)
"In Nazi Germany I was treated as equal." (Jesse Owens)
"Its hard to imagine how happy I feel. From a moment to another while I ran it felt as if I'd grown wings, all the stadium was so festive, it was contagious, so I ran with greater joy and to me it seemed as though I'd lost all the weight of my body." (Jesse Owens)
"The sportive enthusiasm of those German spectators made a deep impression on me, particularly the gentlemanly attitude of those spectators. You may tell everybody we are thankful for the German hospitality." (Jesse Owens)
"When I passed the Chancellor rose, greeted me with his hand, and I returned the signal. I think the reporters were wrong to criticize the man of the hour in Germany" (Jesse Owens)
    Now swallow this
"Pride in one's own race - and that does not imply contempt for other
races - is also a normal and healthy sentiment. I have never regarded
the Chinese or the Japanese as being inferior to ourselves. They belong
to ancient civilizations, and I admit freely that their past history is
superior to our own. They have the right to be proud of their past,
just as we have the right to be proud of the civilization to which we
belong. Indeed, I believe the more steadfast the Chinese and the
Japanese remain in their pride of race, the easier I shall find it to
get on with them." (Adolf Hitler)
"We appreciate the fact that those
of another race are different from us. This scientific truth is the basis,
the justification and, at the same time, the obligation of every racial
policy without which a restoration of Europe in our day is no longer practicable.
Whether that other race is "better" or "worse" is not possible for us to
judge. For this would demand that we transcend our own racial limitations
for the duration of the verdict and take on a superhuman, even divine,
attitude from which alone an "impersonal" verdict could be formed on the
value or lack of such of the many living forms of inexhaustible Nature.
But we of all people are too conscious of the inseparable ties of the blood
and our own race to attempt to aspire to such an ultra-racial standpoint,
even in the abstract." (Dr.Walter Gross)
The Nazis had the most diverse military of the times. The notion that they had contempt for all others is a lie pushed by Globalist. The history is there for you to see, stop swallowing the lies of the international criminals. The "Russian Revolution" was a Jewish operated one.
Who started this communist revolution. What was the composition of the first Russian government, the commissars and the first soviets. It lists two Africans, thirteen Russians, fifteen Chinese, twenty-two Armenians and more then three hundred Jews.
Does that sound like a Russian Revolution? Maybe after reading this you'll start to see what Hitler was getting at, or you'll just ignore reality, the choice is yours.

Looking through the comments, one can clearly assess that the lies are fading away. Long live the diversity nature gave us. Let us show the globalist our cultures, and the beauty of true diversity!
