To Todd who asked why people in Osaka stand on the right side of the escalator rather than on the left like Tokyo (I couldn't reply to your comment for some reason) . There are probably multiple theories, but my friend told me that during the Osaka World Fair, they wanted to establish some rules for managing pedestrian traffic and because right-hand traffic (passing on the left) is more dominant internationally, they decided to implement it that way and I guess it just kind of stuck :)

+Japanagos(ジャパナゴス) I'm currently planning a trip to Japan, me and my family will be staying in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka in three days per each in that order and 1 day per each for Nara, Gujo Hachiman and Kurashiki. I now this sounds like a lot of information so I'll go straight to the point. What places do you think we should visit?

The food looks so delicious, especially that place in which you cleaned off do many kabobs. And their version of American Subway Sandwiches where ya can specify exactly what ya want. Food looks tastier than Subways though. Also liked the people and the old Japanese architecture uninfluenced by Chinese... Love the beauty in the simplicity of that original Japanese style... That early architecture is so beautifully peaceful too... Contrasted with the excitement of the flash lights, which kind of reminds me of Las Vegas. GREAT VLOG! VERY INFORMATIVE AND INTERESTING! THANKS!

I love how this video is organized! Please do some more videos like this for Tokyo or Kyoto, even though those are very popular tourist sites, but there's aren't many videos that just talk about the culture/history and have very satisfying glimpse into the city life and shops.

I love your videos, thanks so much for making them :) I've just got back from Tokyo,I was so impressed, that I'm planning on exploring more of Japan :) The people & food in Tokyo was incredible.... & I'm so thankful for their patience & help (my Japanese needs more work, though I found being there & listening to people, helped heaps) :) I think the only thing that would make Japan even more awesome, is if they made larger size clothes for tourists,I think Japan is missing out on a lot of tourist dollars in that respect. I'm going to Osaka soon, hoping it's as awesome as Tokyo :)

Just got back from my honeymoon to Japan and we spent about 3 days in Osaka. We were kind of kicking ourselves for spending that much time in Osaka that we could have used to spend an extra day or two in Tokyo. The Dotonbori area and Osaka castle area were awesome and we really enjoyed it, and that filled a day. However, the rest of our time we were struggling to find things that we wanted to do that was worth the commute (compared to Tokyo, we felt that the bigger attractions were much more spread apart from each other in Osaka). Still a cool experience but probably needs to be planned more strategically or carefully than places like Tokyo (where you can just walk around and be entertained).

I loved your video!! I live in Hawaii, so the Japanese presence is very strong. I love the Japanese culture and people! I will be traveling to Japan on my own this coming December by myself. Your video helped me to decide to spend a day or two in the Osaka area, in addition to my stay in Tokyo. Is there any other tips you could give me as a lone traveller to Osaka and Tokyo?

Chika! Awesome video as always :) Please consider doing one for Valentine's Day/ White Day. I'd love to teach my students in our Japanese culture club about it using your video. You are a fabulous presenter.

I did! Osaka was amazing but after staying in Osaka for 3 days, I went to Kyoto and Kyoto is a much more beautiful place in my opinion. I loved both cities though :)

Chillkrokette Osaka is sometimes compared to Chicago (working town), and Kyoto to Rome or some place like that with its many historical sites. Since the move of the capial to Tokyo, Kyoto has stagnated, and is basically just a tourist trap now in my estimation. Nara is really laid back, and much better in my estimation. Kobe is fashionable. Glad you had a good time!!

I haven`t been to Kobe and Nara yet, only Okinawa, Osaka and Kyoto. But I`ve lived and worked in Tokyo for 6 months now and have 6 more months left so I have plenty of time to go to as many places as possible :)

having been to both Tokyo and Osaka, i definitely enjoyed Osaka more - felt less crowded than Tokyo, cheap food and accommodation (by Japan standards) and the ppl were generally more outgoing
