I so enjoyed this. Really shows how much hard work goes into a pattern. Hope everyone buys patterns from creators.
Thank you so much for generously sharing your design process and hosting your viewers in your home for a cozy afternoon get together; it was very calm and inviting!
I enjoyed every moment of this and would love to see more! You are so generous to share your process and I loved it even if I don't ever design although I'd love to.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Absolutely wonderful to hear about the work you put in to create patterns for us. Love your entire aesthetic. Brilliant.
So smart! So grateful for people that are able to figure this part out for me. I would love to understand this part of the process as well. Thank you for teaching. Looking forward to your designs. Take care.
Thank you for sharing this, it was very interesting to understand the process. It also makes me appreciate the amount of effort that goes into each new pattern.
I always enjoy your lovely videos, short or long :-)
This is amazing. I loved seeing your creative process, it is truly a labor of love. Thank you for sharing this. 💕
Thank you much for your generosity. I am a new knitter and can't imagine designing my own pattern, would be amazing. Just bought your Woosy pattern, I cant wait to start it. I would knit it for a friend =)
Thank you for a lovely insight into your designer process Melody, very inspiring and really informative:) Keep up the beautiful designs and videos :) Kate xx
I found your 10 steps for pattern designing very inspirational. Keep on demonstrating more of your experiences with your new patterns, I loved your video you did a great job.
Very informative and well done. YES! Part II would be great!!!
I loved this video Melody, so interesting and beautiful to learn more about your process!
Thank you for this video! I have wondered what kind of process it might take to design a pattern. This has given me quite a better appreciation for designers and also an enhanced sense of appreciation for the cost of patterns!
And btw. . . This was not at all too long!
Love this!! Very informative and inspirational! :)
I enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing❤️
well done on the video.. so informative I want to be able to design my own knitting constructions I often have ideas but not way of making a pattern I'm inspired to keep trying
Thank you so much I will follow your directions for my first design.
Great video and I loved your straight forward approach....( for a minute there I thought I was watching Princess Mary of Denmark...you do look similar). I learnt so much and I'm very grateful. Many thanks and Best Wishes for 2020.

Amazing work❤🌹👌👍💟💝
Thank you for the video! 🤗
Thank you! Did you create your own template or did you use one of the persons templates to start?
How do I find a test knitter I've never used one before. I'm writing a new pattern. I've already knitted the sweater myself...do you have to pay test knitters? is there a directory on ravelry?
Hi, how does it work the test knitters process? Is it compulsory to get your pattern tested before publishing it to sell at ravelry? Please let me know. if this step is compulsory, do you normally use the test knitters available in the ravelry pool? Is it service free? how many tests do you need to proceed with publication and sale of the pattern. Thanks in advance!
No, you can definitely publish untested patterns. But test knitters can be very helpful in catching tiny mistakes, or even in letting you know if something is unclear. Many people test knit for free, but I know that a lot of people find it unethical to ask for the service for free, especially if they are a very big designer and they know they will get good profits from the final product.
It's nice to offer something to the testers, even if it's simply credit and a free copy of the final pattern.
I need knit designs for polo shirts.
I have a picture of a toddlers knitted garment I would love to knit I’ve looked on Pinterest is this something that you could help me please
Does it make decent money ? I’m a nurse but I’m an experienced knitter , I would love to design ....

Oh I was going to ask if you have any stitch dictionary type books that you use and like?
Is Bmandarines a full-time knit designer?
Yes! bmandarines.squarespace.com/
good video, but you shoudl have used a microphone closer to you, the echo was a bit distracting.
Can I just very gently suggest you get someone to edit this video for you?
It's very lovely, and you are very lovely, and the creative process in its place is very interesting. But people who have just clicked on 'how to create a knitting pattern in 10 steps', it's safe to assume, a) do want to create a knitting pattern; and b) would like to crack on with it. Five minutes in before you cut to the chase is too long.
But that's fine, lots and lots of people have clearly enjoyed your demonstration, it's just not what I was looking for right now.
Thank you for sharing this information. I appreciate it. I just wish I didn’t have to sit through a 20-minute video to get 10 minutes of information. The first two minutes alone were you repeating yourself in different ways.
This video doesn't even show how make a pattern 😒
The sound is dreadful....impossible to watch longer than 2 min... music OK but voice terrible
