bro wastes nobody's time
he gives all the info needed clearly and quickly
this man is a true hero
You're right, but I wish I could hear as fast as he talks! I have a new battery bank and 2 devices that have outputs for charging other things. Have to check their rates...
Those results are not consistent with the ones in this video from my personal tests. I verified with multiple trials and multiple units, take that as you want.
Thank you for the comparisons. I bought a Ugreen 100W a few weeks ago and forgot to use the affiliate link. It's been working great so-far.
The amount of time you spent testing all this is incredible. You simply over deliver in all your videos by a huge margin.
PD3 Voltage chart is cherry on top (for silly devices like Philips PicoPix Max which is locked to 15V)
Thanks mate
120% of advertised
You should be given a medal for this video. I think you are the only human in this planet who has the patience to test all of these power banks! 😊
for reallllss lmfaooo easily gave a like!
Your channel and testing methods are on par with Project Farm. To the point that i gladly watch battery bank comparisons without actually needing one. Awesomeness.
Same here. I love this channel! Thank you for the great work and please keep doing tests in this manner!
I came here to comment the Project Farm comparison. It is high praise and belongs here.
Haha project farm is in a class of his own..
I stumbled on this channel. This was one the best and most thorough, yet practical reviews I’ve seen all year. Loved it!
Much appreciated research on battery banks as there so many out there in the market as you hardly scratch the surface. Fascinating test results. Thanks!!
Project Farm of electronics. Great video. I always would scroll through battery reviews looking for people who measure them to see if they actually have the capacity they claim to have.
Fyi, Project Farm did a under $30 battery bank video 3 weeks ago.
Your comparisons are so good. I love your testing methodology and presentation format. :)
Longevity is an important factor. The banks that have a BMS that charge to 100% and discharge down to nearly 0% (of the actual internal capacity, not displayed capacity) will not have a long lifespan whatsoever. Li-ion batteries sitting at 100% for long periods before use will degrade quickly. Of course, that isn't easy to test... it takes a long time. My family has gone through so many of these that have lived a short life. Counterintuitively, the batteries tested with the worst % of advertised capacity may be a better product by having a greater lifespan. But that isn't a certainty. It's hard to tell how many are lying about the batteries vs how many are babying the batteries for a longer lifespan.
Yeah, as with all things, longevity is almost impossible to test for 20 power banks and still put out a relevant CZcams video. I'll be putting the UGREEN into service for all of my travel needs and my wife will be keeping the Veektomx in her purse, so I'll definitely update with a pinned comment should anything go wrong with those.
The negative reviews tell a very important story...they are not dependable over time and in some instances, are downright dangerous. They also don't accept returns after 28 days which is actually illegal! @@TheHookUp
@@TheHookUpYou could at least check the individual cells, for signs of unbalanced charging and with that, the ease of repair or at least separate the components.
@@goiterlanternbasenobody will repair them
@@mostlymessingabout That is the only thing you read? Poor creature🙄
Stunning tests and summary - congrats on a truly wholesome review, commentary and presentation. Thank you
Awesome! Need an episode two with more battery banks!! Maybe even do one on the big portable power stations like the Jackery, EcoFlow, etc!!
Last time I was looking to buy a Beamer, now a powerbank. You pop up in my CZcams feed and my search ends after watching your video. Keep up the good work, I now subscribed.
THANK YOU ! ❤ thank you so much for doing this video. There’s been several questions about battery banks you’ve answered and you did a great comparison between them. I have been wanting to do some battery testing on the rog ally and I’ve been working on acquiring one or two for testing. This is helpful for picking a few more good ones to try up
Just ordered your top pic, thanks for the in-depth analysis!
Brilliant comparison as usual, thanks.
Do you have an idea if any of those can be used as Uninterruptible Power Supply ... probably sounds crazy to use them like that (and would definitely not help with the longevity depending on how it's managed) but I am curious.
You sir are a genius! This has to the most thorough video on power banks that I've seen yey. It is indeed the ultimate battery bank comparison.
Great video summarizing so many battery banks! Thank you!
Your video is packed with technical fundamental value to me and all other consumers without all the blah blah blah that I found around so far. Your communication is essential, precise, punctual. I like your charts. I wish there were more people making videos like yours. Thank you! 😃
You just earned a new and loyal subscriber. Hats off to the effort you put in this project.
I don't know how you keep putting those freaking awesome testing.
THIS IS SURELY THE BEST CHANNEL FOR TESTING POWERBANKS. THANKS !
Now that's what I call a review.. Expectacular job!
I don't know why I was looking for the 20000mAh Baseus 65w Charger to be on the list since it's so highly recommended for Steam deck content creators, but we can't have them all. I'm glad you included the FAA limit as I almost bought a battery that wouldn't have met the requirement.
I'm not surprised that the popular Anker slim power back is slow. It takes *forever* to charge and I won't recommend that one.
Also, I *love* my Anker 737 power bank. It makes using the Steam deck on the go last longer than the recommended content creator one.
You did a tremendous job once again! Thank you!
Great video! Can you also test the Anker 521 Portable Power Station versus other competitors?
Incredibly thorough and well done. Thank you!
Great review! Would be interesting to test storage/longevity life. How much capacity is left after sitting on the shelf for a mo. etc. 👍
Your review read my mind. As I was thinking, you proceeded to answer my questions. Plus we have the same profile photo. Subscribed!
Very nice testing as always! Those ones that hang off the charging port terrify me
Brilliant content, straight to the point and no fluff.
Great review! In v2 of the review please include information on whether the power banks support pass-through charging and whether they can charge low-draw devices, as most power banks tend to shut off in such cases.
Good idea. Add longevity and reliability to the list as well.
pass through charging and the ability to use as a UPS for a small device would be nice. Some cut the output power for a few seconds when disconnecting the charging making it unusable as a mini UPS for raspberry Pis
This video is amazing man, so much work. Respect!
Went straight to Amazon and bought a Veektomx. Great review, and thank you.
One of the best comparisons i have seen in long time. Good video a+ 10+ mega 😊
Great comparison ,thank you , the problem I have with recent powerbanks is that if the charging current is too low , they shut off the charging , making them useless for powering / charging smartwatches / usb Leds - torches/ diy electronic circuits. the weird thing is this is almost never in the specs / manual what is the min current required to stop the shutdown process.
Well done! Thank you for this video. Would love to see you do comparisons of true and certified MagSafe batteries.
Thanks Rob, another great video! Merry Christmas to you and the family!
Merry Christmas!
Just in time! I've been looking for power banks and was sad you didn't have a video out. Any thoughts about testing the higher capacity Veektomx packs? I like the built-in cables on the other models.
I just purchased the Veektomx as suggested! You have best info out there for sure!👍👍👍👍
Wow dude The thoroughness in this video is amazing. I very much sub and am very thankful
Thanks love your channel .
We had a few in amazon one was what you recommended so we deleted it and added again using your link so you get your pay out keep up the good work .
I bought a solar power charging one off amazon right before Christmas, so not really looking for another right now. But wow awesome informational video. You're the best.
amazing review, the amount of data is crazy!
Thank you so much for this. You're the real MVP. I am interested in the Ramos 40000 Mah. Where would you rank it above the other large capacity powerbanks?
Amazingly comprehensive video! Only thing missing is the lifespan of these products but I image you wouldn’t want to use all of these continuously for two years to find out how long they last just to make a review. I was overwhelmed looking at the available products but this helped me figure it out
Love my Anker 737. On hikes where I need to get food in towns, spending less time in towns is always key to me. That 48min recharge time is perfect to get most things done.
48min recharge time was crazy to see.
Agree. The 737 is a great battery. I've since bought a couple of the new Prime batteries from Anker also. I've had quite a few other batteries from different budget brands and the ports seem to wear out quickly. (3 months or so). The anchor's been solid.
This video deserves more views. Good work!
Very nice, thanks for the no-frills info!
Thanks Rob. Merry Christmas to you and yours. 👍🏻🎄❄
Merry Christmas Ron!
Thanks, it was a really good info. Pair this with a video about chargers would be nice. Getting from Colombia
Great work. For the next round a summary of lifespan differences, possibly due to chemistry differences, would be helpful too.
amazing review! crazy thorough testing
Thank you for the video and the wealth of information on the subject. I would be curious to see where Zendure batteries would have rated in your test. I only buy their batteries for myself and family. They last a really long time and are very reliable.
Amazing video, straight to the point and with objective data. Thanks
I'm so glad someone made this video.
Talk about being thorough. Kudos
Appreciate the amount of effort and level of detail that goes into your videos and love your channel. I am curious though… I have 2 Anker 737’s that can fast charge a MBP 14 M2 at ~95W. Higher than the 70W recorded and a bit closer to a real-world scenario. I’m thinking the competition may have had something that enabled them to work better in that particular scenario. The results are certainly comparable for that specific use case but is there a reason you used the projector approach instead of something closer to a more common scenario like charging a laptop?
the MBP is probably charging at 28V, mine was done at 20V, so 20V at 3.5A is 70W, 28V at 3.5A is 98W. 3.5A is probably the limit.
best power bank comparison video on youtube. thank you sir.
Straight to the point video, amazing!
Thanks for giving the information clearly and concisely. I picked up the Veektomx through your link.
Hi Rob thank you for this thorough assessment of battery banks. Slightly off topic but could you answer another query please. I’ve bought the 8 channel reolink nvr with the 811a cameras and I was wondering if there is a way to install the nvr in a bedroom closet, but also have an internet connection for remote viewing, or do you need a LAN connection to the nvr. Thank you in advance.
You would need to run a LAN connection to your bedroom closet to connect it to the internet, yes.
I love a thorough and scientific review. Nice one!
You're amazing brother. Subscribed and liked the post.
Can any of these battery banks be used with heated vests or coats? If they connect via usb an orange connector?
Thanks for all the fantastic videos you make.
Would it be possible to do a comparison on portable cellular hotspots available on the market?
The cellular market is an absolute mess. I have attempted to make videos about cellular security cameras before and been absolutely overwhelmed by all the different technology and regulations in different parts of the world, and even massive differences between states in the US.
As always, a very good review, thanks.
❤ Nice! VERY relevant and useful! Please keep it up!
Thanks for sharing your Ultimate Battery Bank Comparison!!!🥰😍
God bless you. Formal to the point and very informative. Well done!
What a lot of work and it looks as if it paid off - you found a gem (the Veektomx). Thanks.
On the “wireless charging from a power bank a bit silly” comment, I agree for now but I confess that as an iPhone user I am keeping my eye on this section of the power bank market. I do think that the time will come in the not too distant future when Apple will do away with all ports on at least some of its models and at that point, if one of those models is the one I want to get, I will be forced to go out and get a power bank with wireless charging capability. I could simply travel with a plug in wireless charging puck in addition to a non-wireless power bank but I’m hoping that by the time I am forced to go all wireless an all-in-one wireless power bank will be lighter and more compact than a 2 device solution.
great timing on this review! thank you for your thorough testing and interesting videos
Hi, do you happen to know of any reputable brand of portable powerbank that comes with inbulit USB-C cable and supports wireless charging for Samsung S24 series? Thanks in advance!
Great work, very thorough.
quick and great review, thank you
Hi, have you had the chance to test the Anker Prime 27650 ?
Awesome video. Really good. Many thanks!
I don't see any auto discharge on the battery bank.. I love to have a button to disable the battery connection to avoid auto discharge over time... Great review
would the ugreen 140W perform similarly to the 100W but just higher wattage?
Nice video dude 👍
Good video, lots of information thank you
Another amazing video that must have taken a lot of energy to prepare ;)
I know this is a very niche usage, but any chance to check which powerbanks can have output enabled while being charged. To be used as a UPS for raspberry pi or the like.
Lots of people have requested that test, I'll see if I can do some quick testing, at least with the highest overall performers.
Please consider reviewing the Nitecore powerbank. It is often recommended by hikers/backpackers due to its size to capacity ratio. I'd love to see how it fares in your testing!
This, this needs to be tested and compared.
Agreed, really impressed with Nitecore stuff
Have some nitecore s carabiner, gear tie, and some of those multi keys 👍
Thank you for all great videos , can you test smoke detectors smart ones for home use
Im curious to see if the 50,000mAh Veektomx sells is any good as well
Awesome reviews... Thank you!!!
I wish I saw your review 2 days ago so I don't have to do my own testing. The compact Veektomx 10000 mAh is on sale at Monoprice under their housebrand for $14.99 and I bought one to compare with my Anker PowerCore Slim 10000 PD.
Testing them with an USB multimeter took forever
You are the BEST!! I love your reviews and comparisons. Question: What is your favorite *short* USB-C cable for optimal charging?
I have a couple 1.5ft 240W Anker cables, I think they come with the PowerCore 737. All the other cables I bought for this video are 6ft or longer.
@@TheHookUp Anker cables are really good but all the different versions can be confusing and the website doesn't do a good job of helping you decode.
I agree. I bought 2 different 2-packs of Anker cables and the boxes and cables are nearly identical. The only way you can tell that one is 65W max and the other is 100W max is a small embossed 100W marking on the rubber sleeve leading into the braided cable (amzn.to/48rBu1w), while the 65W one has no markings.
Fantastic video! Thank you
!
Awesome video, very educational and interesting 😊
Amazing info. Thank you a lot. I use power banks in the summer when I do cycling trips with a trailer with solar panel on top.
I've got an ARM laptop that consumes very little. I do video edits of what I done during the day and upload to CZcams. And watch movies when done.
So I power it all with power banks that I charge with my USB solar panels.
I want light-weigth but high-capacity. So ordered a Veektomx 10 000mAh to charge my camera and gps during the day. And ordered a 30 000mAh for my laptop. I hope the big ones are as good as the smaller ones. I ordered tons of power banks from Amazon and all except an Anker are very bad and heavy for the capacity. Now the process of sending them back and having better ones instead(I hope). Thank you, cheers. NicoD
I like the way you give cold hard facts and data.
I'm personally looking to buy the right power bank but even with this video I don't know. What about "INIU" I see their products a lot, anker has one claiming "4.8A output" is that good? seems higher than others does that matter? Also conversion effeciency is important too right? apparently between 70-90% is like normal, but seems to me that 90 would be really good next to 70. Are there power banks that come with AC adapters that are genuinely decent? I'm thinking anything up to 27000 mah (or 99.9wh) for what you can bring with you on a plane.
I'm no electrical engineer so, all these amps watts and volts get me a little confused sometimes. I do think 12 hours is too long to wait to recharge a power bank from 0-100 and 5W charging is just too slow.
And wireless chargers are cool, I for one had an s22 ultra where the usb c port suddenly died and had to wireless charge as the only way to use the phone. finding a wireless charger that could do 18W but really 15w (or whatever) was kind of a pain in the ass. I then realized samsung has fast wireless charging and ofc super fast wireless charging because its not confusing enough and of course they sell those chargers for a premium and only their chargers can do it (apparently).
Wish there was one clear price to performance winner. I'm a cheap bastard but i'd still spend a little more if its a worthwhile investment.
Can you test nitecore nb10000? Comes in at 5.29 oz, lighter than the tcore.
Great video as always
What were the high-wattage cables that you used in your testing? I bought two of the Veektomx 10,000mAh banks based on your recommendation, and want to ensure I have the best charging cables for USB-C and Lightning.
This is the 240w cable that I used: amzn.to/3TxPoL6 but any 100W USB-C cable will max out the abilities of the Veektomx. I like this cable for high wattage (140w max), and it has an accurate watt meter LCD display: amzn.to/48oc0Sz
Got an amazon link to the tool you were using to measure capacity?
How do we know of a cable can support these high amp chargers without catching on fire or melting? Does the charger know if your using a small wire gauge cable?
Love to see more high watt hour banks and high current capacity banks to power laptops & heated jackets all day. I also love the high power banks to power my wireless access points on my large acreage farm where we have no nearby electricity. Def need to set up a solar recharge array!
The charging cables themselves have a chip in them that enables the higher current draw. Theoretically a company wouldn't pair too low gauge of wire with the chip that enables high current, but we know that will inevitably happen.
This is the tester I used: amzn.to/3NT9ADD
Amazing test. Thanks. I would love to see one for the biggest power banks such as the one that advertise having 70000mah or 80000mah for example. I know you cannot take them on an airplane but those are so beefy you could charge a laptop a few times. Cheers
I’m looking for an external battery to power up the JMGO N1 Ultra to make it portable. Would the UGREEN recommendation work for something like that? If not what’s a good suggestion?. Thank you!
The UGREEN would work, but not for long, also for any of them you'll need to turn the laser power down on the N1 Ultra, probably to level 1 or 2 max. N1 ultra pulls 135 watts at max power, so you'd want to get it down to 70-80w for sustained use and the Ugreen had a tested capacity of 59.1Wh, so you'd only get about 40 minutes of use.
Something like this: amzn.to/3SYjfdU would be more useful at 260 watt hours, meaning you could get 3 hours or so of usage. You should still use the USB port with the barrel connector though (amzn.to/3uVHykM) not the AC plug since converting to AC will waste a ton of power.
Nice job! Thank you!
the link in your description for the "ROMOSS 40,000mAh" appears to link to a different product than you tested in your video. the link in your description is showing a "40+" printed on the bottom-right of the unit, but in your video you're using one that has "65w" printed on the bottom-right of the unit. i found the ROMOSS 40,000mah 65w bank (like the one in your video) on amazon, but it says the item is currently unavailable for purchase
i'm trying to power the JMGO N1 (white version) with this ROMOSS 40,000 mah (65w) bank because i want to be able to set the JMGO N1's brightness level 10 (which pulls about a constant 54w according to the screen on the Anker PowerCore 737). so i need to be be capable to pull at least 54w (which means i need the "65w" ROMOSS 40,000mah bank?)
in short, is there any way to get our hands on the exact ROMOSS 40,000mah ("65w") unit you tested in the video? or are we just at the mercy of waiting for the product to become available on amazon again?
thank you for your amazing content! you're seriously the best
