- How does Enoxaparin (Lovenox) Work? Enoxaparin is an anticoagulant medication that promotes antithrombin 3 to block clotting factors 2 (thrombin) and X (Ten). It is a low molecular weight heparin.
Enoxaparin is an anticoagulant, brand name: Lovenox. We also talk about Dalteparin (Fragmin) which is also a low molecular weight heparin. This is used to treat and prevent blood clots from forming which may lead to heart attack and stroke patients. Anticoagulant therapy seeks to prevent the development of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolisms.

This pharmacology lecture covers topics such as Anticoagulant drugs. We talk about Enoxaparin, Dalteparin and how it is a low molecular weight heparin anticoagulant. We discuss how enoxaparin helps block the clotting factors 2 and 10 which leads to less fibrin being formed. This causes the lowering of blood clots. Also, we talk about the pathophysiology of the clotting cascade, heart attack and stroke and how anti-coagulation therapy is beneficial. We discuss the mechanism of action of Enoxaparin and its side effects.

Please come with the series of drugs which are being used to treat COVID19 like hydroxychloroquine.
I would love to, but the videos I post are backed by "Evidence based medicine". Meaning there is alot of trials and studies on the medications for their use. Since there aren't many trials being done on COVID yet, I don't feel there is solid enough information to report on. However, once the trials and studies become stronger, I will look into making these videos!
@@DrugChug ok
@@DrugChuggreat videos. Some of the evidence based medicine data/statistics/studies are provided by the drug manufacturers fyi. Huge conflict of interest
How long does the blood take to get back to baseline once enoxaparin is stopped?
I would like to know the same thing.
Is clexane the same
enoxaprine claas law melecular weit of heparin
Why is that it should be given only subcutaneous.
I would also like clarification on that. I've just started these injections today. My doc gave me my first injection but he injected into my muscle instead of subq. I even asked him about it and he said he'd rather give it IM. I"m confused.
SubQ to be absorbed slowly and steadily. Plus the fact that its much easier and more convenient, the patient can take it at home. Also don't forget that Enoxaparin can be given IV in some cases. Its not given IM.
@@KRGBanks Its not given IM.
SubQ or IV in some cases
