I just came back from Singapore and I already feel emotionally nostalgic. The trains are SO clean
Not for EWL and NSL trains, mostly we get the older trains and the floor stains can smell
cant forget the 4-language mind the gap announcement, especially the tamil version

Recently they had updated the Stevens announcement to "Stevens Interchange"

This sound matches what I heard in my trip.
Can someone help me understand why both Promenade and Bayfront interchange on Downtown Line look confusing to me? They are the same and coincentally, happen to connect to Circle Line.

Now the Stevens MRT Station had became a interchange station, so the announcement should be ‘Stevens Interchange’
The announcement was recorded as is on the Downtown Line trains.

wondering why botanic gardens is translated as kebun bunga and not taman botani
Bahasa Melayu in Singapore is Bahasa baku atau asas.
It sounds too literal. The Malay official name for Singapore Botanic Gardens is Kebun Bunga Singapura.
Singaporean Malay tend to be much more formal and standardised.
Does anyone know why there is such a station called Downtown on the Downtown Line?

I don’t know a thing about Tamil, but why does it sound like the term “Please Mind The Gap” in Tamil is 2x longer than the same term in English, Mandarin and Malay?

You can watch in 2:17 forward, the Tamil version is longer too for the special announcement. I don't know Tamil too, but I think in general, Tamil needs to explain longer than the other languages. Mandarin usually a lot shorter because they use different tones and symbol in the character letters to explain things.

The announcement style between the two lines are the same but the 'tone' (especially Next Station) is different, while the DTL dosen't use the word 'station' (like in SMRT Lines) and retains the nostalgic 'This train service terminates' announcement for terminus stations which is great
