It took a while to figure out the settings but between the manual and a couple of fairly poor CZcams How To's I got most of them done. My watch came with an automatic light from wrist movements activated which was pretty annoying. I couldn't find any info on how to deactivate it. So I began experimenting with different button and setting combinations. It's quite simple actually. In normal operation mode you just press and hold the "adjust" and "light" buttons at the same time for a few seconds to toggle it off and on.
I took a key and scratched the back, a very thin layer that appears to be carbon fiber came off revealing a shiny metal underneath. Still it’s a pretty cool watch. The best thing is that I got it from Temu for $0.29 on a special deal!
I own a Casio G2100. The watvh is god tier but the only problem with my casiOak is that the buttons are studded too deep into the resin which is corrected in the latest model of CasioOak but in this watch the buttons are so good.
Nice review. It is really a thick one at 16mm! Much thicker than my own North Edge Evoque. I would recommend taking a look at that one if you like North Edge. The Evoque is solar powered.
This is a good looking watch. I like it, it is affordable too. I thank you friend watchdog for showing us this watch, it could this years first buy for me. I could have it at work in rotation with my G‐Shock Mudman.
I was considering bying this watch, but ended up with Skmei 2091 :) Same functions, but smaller and lighter. Also it has options with colored indexes and dials.
The Skmei 2091 is 49.7 gr, the Mars 3 is 55 g, so not much difference, despite the Mars 3 is larger and sturdier. Probably because of the carbon fiber coating. The same movement inside, so no difference. But the Skmei has more color options.
@@014fnils Unfortunately, my skmei appeared to be very glitchy. It had many problems. After reinstalling battery to rebut third time a month, i've thrown it away. I do hope, that mars has another movement!
Very nice review. North edge is really showing itself to be a competitor not to underestimate. The negative display was the only thing I didn't like about this watch. Those displays tend to be difficult to read.
This is a good one. Only wish they used all the colors from the Mars 1. Also I think carbon fiber is expensive but you can mitigate by using more resin, since you need both to make something like a watch case.
Now I want a Mars bar hahaha! I have worked with carbon fiber for many years in the aviation sector but I cant tell from the video if it is indeed CF. The only way you would be able to tell is if you scratched it and the fiber strands came out instead of plastic grooves.
Hello I'm looking for a watch that can tell me the time in different places at any time. I found this North Edge Mars 3 that says "World Time", and the item description even says that you can check the time in any time zone at any time. However, the seller tells me that this is not possible. And from what I gather from your review, it seems possible to check the time in Tokyo or Moscow, for example. Can you confirm whether this is possible or not? (Because sorry, I don't understand English very well 🙏) Thanks for this review, it's a very nice watch in any case.
When you set the watch to world time, you can cycle between many airport codes and it will tell you the time for that airport code. This is only for the digital display and not the analog hands. However, if you want to change the analog hands, you can change your home time zone. This must be done in set time mode.
@@humos47 if it is it's probably using it at the very weakest sense of the term. I'm not sure what percentage of an object has to be carbon fiber in order to claim an object is made from carbon fiber. But due to the cost of manufacturing carbon fiber I can't imagine it's anywhere in this watch
So apparently any watch using this movement is going to automatically be dismissed as a Casio Oak clone because of the day of week subdial and shape of the digital display despite having a totally different bezel, case, and strap. 🙄

I haven't tried Temu yet. I've kind of been afraid, but I guess I would be doing my viewers a disservice if I didn't check it out.

The glass is scratch resistant?
It claims it is, but I don't test that because if I scratch a crystal, I am hosed.
Scratch under where the band meets the head. Won’t be seen there. 99% sure North Edge is lying. Real carbon fiber usually costs a large premium.

Show me the G-shock. The dial is similar to the Casio Oak, but the bezel, case, and strap are clearly not. I don't consider this a copy.

Skmei 1991: an Orient Bambino homage, with Epson AX33A inside. Very popular, with nice dials, but the glass is a bit too reflecting.
