- NOTE: Sorry we were so late with this week's slop my beautiful hogs. There will be extra make-up slop in the coming weeks for you to stick your snouts into. I swear.
Matt and Daniel are joined by comedian and former United Nations war crimes attorney Jess Salomon to discuss arboreal colonialism, the Democratic National Convention’s aversion to Palestinian speakers, and a particularly cursed rendition of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s Crossroads where all the words were said.

My perception, as a fourth-grader in 1954 (whose public school teacher had a jar on her desk for us to put our lunch money in for the "greening of israel"), was not so much that there were NO people there as they were all nomads, who wandered around with their sheep and camels. The implication was that they had built no cities or farms..and were very primitive. Come to find out they not only had build cities with industries and universities and farms with orchards and crops, growing for centuries, fishing fleets and everything else an established country has..until it was all stolen from them! Talk about being hood-winked! I want my quarters and dimes back!
The only thing I remember from 4th grade (in '58) was crouching down under our desks as rehearsal for a nuclear strike. Also creepy but in a very different way. And didn't Kamala just rhapsodize about contributing to growing trees in Israel as a Girl Scout? Propaganda has been ceaseless
Gotta replant over all the olive trees they burnt
All those olive groves destroyed for trash trees not meant for the climate built with little kids candy money!
@@PedroBentoITone of the many levels of disgusting behaviour
It's insane isn't it. The part that makes me most sick, on top of all the crap, is that it shouldn't matter if they were indeed 'primitive', wandering nomads who never built cities/farms/industries/universities etc. If they sat around flinging poop at each other then they still had the right to the land they inhabited. Your right to exist somewhere on earth on your own terms is not contingent on how many skyscrapers you've built. Reason this part bothers me is that people often defensively reach for any example they can find to prove their worth e.g., "we had the world's first university actually". It doesn't matter... you have the right to exist regardless.
My grandfather was a peasant who oversaw the Sursok properties and their orange groves. He was one of the first tiers of Palestinians who lost their livelihoods after the properties were sold to Jews, who, soon after, replaced them with Western Jews.
I was having a bad hasbara withdrawal, thank you for the fix.
every nation and every person is required to resist complicity in genocide under international law.
"America needs to get on that."

Even under the threat of Trump?! 😂😂😂
Actually we are all obligated to stop the genocide.
@@ethandarcy5940voting has never stopped a genocide. Only protests or war has historically.
Who do you think will be more likely to listen to protest Harris or Trump?
I love watching Daniel while Matt is talking. Such rapt love in his face while you badly sing terrible puns and throw up gang signs.
Straight dudes who are just a tiny bit gay for each other. Big BFF energy. Wholesome AF. Unbelievable that they only met after the podcast started!
@@AzaleaJane lol what. That sounds fake, how's that even possible, a podcast isn't just what washes in with the tide. Oh they were just in the same room and a security camera captured what turned out to be episode 1. I don't even doubt you bc of how ridiculous these two are but tell me a story
"Bad lesbara" keeps staring straight in the camera and cracks a smile😂😂😂😂😂😂
Also, yes. I am 100% waiting for the Bad Hasbara album.
I like the Hasbara Twist very much
and it likes you!
@@danielmatemusic We need an album!
@@danielmatemusic Lol.
Daniel’s music deserves the Nobel Peace Prize!
The Hasbara Twist is a GEM 👏🏼
Struggling this week guys so thank you for the sane-making dose of reassurance that I'm not losing my goddamn mind.
Another dose of Matt, Daniel, & Adam (MDA) to cheer me up.
“Most Dashing Adam”?
Or Matt, Daniel Mate, and Adam (MDMA)😊
But..
Don't do it like 🎤Rock-&-Roll McDonald's🎤 - "@@HaggardPillockHD".

Only halfway through, but what a great great episode, funny as hell (always), good puns, and great insight into coming out in variety of ways. Super fascinating to hear about deconditioning. I myself never experienced that because the context of being a half-jew, i was never raised with a Jewish education, so it's fascinating especially that the recurring theme is that "It takes a long time" often much longer than people think. Thanks again, Bad Hasbara, for your lifeline to sanity. Whenever forces in my mind (conditioned simply by the western narrative) makes me doubt my anti-zionist position, there's always more information dressed in funniness that reminds me to be true to what it means to be an empathic human without a kind of malignant hasbara tumour in my brain that once in a while says, "don't say genocide".. but it is a genocide. Proud of you guys. Much Love to you both for this crucial PodCast. Plus Jess Saloman is from Montreal!!! my home town!
Guest isn’t even on yet and it’s already 🔥
FYI: Westmount is the ultra rich English speaking neighbourhood in Montreal. None of us BIPOC people can walk through Westmount without their private security stopping us and trying to ID us and make us "get outta town!!"
Holy crap! I already love you guys and all of your guests, but the Hasbara Twist brings this to a whole new level. F*ck yes!
Informative, funny and includes a catchy tune too!
check out Daniels remix of the theme tune and the laundry song!👍
The laundry song is an absolute banger. Better than the original and very funny
Gotta love Walz being a civics teacher. My high school civics teacher challenged me to stand up if I ever knew a genocide was happening. Turns out all these teachers are comedians and I didn’t get the joke!! Lolol I took him seriously. I’m so dumb. I need to go watch Election again.
guys i'ma be real with you, this video is the first time in my entire life i have ever even heard of "the war of 48"
thanks american public school system
In short, zionist armed gangs raided and massacred Palestinian villages and started a mass ethnic cleansing campaign. (Watch tantura)
The arabs at that time were still crawling out from under their own British/french occupation declared war on Israel as a result.
The Zionist turned out in hindsight (israeli archives) to have a secret agreement with the jordanian king that their role in the war will be purely theatrical and in return the israelis will let him control the west bank . That way the israelis can focus on the egyptians (basically the only other military in the region ).
What surprised me even more is just wikipedia how large the militaries were. If i recall the israelis had 3-5x more soldiers than the egyptians and obviously backed by the west with state of the art equipment while the egyptians werent even fully free from the british occupation and were fighting with old equipment.
The narrative of the small weak jewish state fighting off all the arabs turned out to be the large well equipped zionist state fighting the occupied smaller egyptian forces and a few militias after Zionists massacred and ethnically cleansed palestine.
The Hasbara Twist has got to get out there for more people to hear! 😂
Another fantastic episode. Started following Jess Solomon. Another incredible person that you introducedus listeners to in the podcast. Thank you 🙏
Great show, great guest. Thankyou Most Moral ones for that Hitler youth kids tv clip from our boy Eylon. He truly is a treasure. Justice for Palestine.
Every episode should feature bone thugs n harmony as heavily as this episode does💚👍
"OK, Butters. Now you knock me out so I wake up in the future, alright?"
I'm here! I made it.... the futuuuuure!
Thank you for exposing the truth and make us laugh at the same time
Daniel's song was the cherry on top of this beautiful episode.
Hasbara twist is amazing 🙏🏽 thank you for being a space for shared pain and some relief from it. I hope Palestinians in the future can enjoy these videos and know the outrage most of the world feels now
The song is awesome!! Audience demands a produced full version!!
The twist 😂
Broooo's, from now on doing an a cappella version of a classic rap should be how this pod starts. You guys keep getting better with every episode...
Brilliant chat, serious and funny. Brilliant song at the end. 🇮🇪🇵🇸♥️
Omg… the Hasbara Twist 🙌🏼
Great shownin Chicago Matt
Whoa Daniel you are *on fire* with the puns! My all-time fav has gotta be anti-zayinist....!!!!!! Y'all had me laughing extra aloud and I really needed it... we all do, almost 10 months into a genocide. Thank you for keeping us going
1:40:38 the Hasbara Twist is a bop. d man is the thee man.
The documentary mentioned is called “My Tree” it’s excellent. The progression of energy from start to finish is well-done.
I really enjoyed how Jess’s humor jived with yours
You guys keep getting better - so many juicy moments. Album!
Daniel has it. It sounds so good but actual power of Identity Politics is as weapon to destroy those it pretends to respect. Seen it over and over again at every level of organization. Also, Jess is great. Fantastic guest.
You had us worried there for a while. Welcome back!
Excellent ep. Hasbara Twist rocks!🎉
Wow 😳😲 20k subscribers! I remember when this had only 7k
Just realised I wasn't subscribed on YT, which I've just fixed. So thanks!
I was only subbed in my podcast app.
Most fun I’ve ever had with my pants on
Great Song at the end, incredible cantoring
Bravo Daniel with "the hasbara twist"!
Fellas, laundry was the best song so far. I bop to it during chores then stroll around my house randomly echoing, "LAUNDRY"
I agree
👏👏👏This could twist for Havdalah
👏👏👏👏👏 to the Twist! Genial lyrics.
Really, really love that Hasbara Twist song, Daniel!
And big shout out to all of you, Matt and Jess, and Daniel, great episode!
Hasbara twist is a banger
43:40 that is Definitely the anvil chorus not the 1812 overture lol. Love it
So cool that Jess was a war crimes lawyer... But also sounds really intense and like not a fun job... But now she's in comedy! Hopefully more fun.
Spot on lyrics Daniel.
You guys are freaking hilarious... and so dark
Banger. 👏🏼
The Hasbara Twist is so amazing! Total earworm 😂
Can you post it in a separate video to share? 😊
SCHWARTZ DELI!!! The best sandwich on Urf
"If you knew, what this game will do to u, look at all the bull sh@t i been through, so called beef with u know who!!"..... I'm with it!!! lol
As a Canadian, i felt seen when jess mentioned the war of 1812
You are just great! And I would join crowdfunding the song.
There needs to be an album.
Danke!
I think politics can arguably be defined in two ways: One is to change material conditions on the ground. The other is to largely maintain those material conditions on behalf of those who made such conditions possible. But as always, love your interviews, humor and commentary. And by coincidence, I had lunch with a Zygote just last week. They're not much for conversation.
Love some Biggie and Bone... and you both!
I’m gonna need a separate Hasbara Twist video, please ❤
I would also like to make a suggestion: stay awesome 😎 love you guys

The Hasbara Twist needs to release
You need to clip the Hasbara Twist
Great song Daniel
❤❤❤
Great one!!
Listening thoroughly ❤️😅
A touch of Louden Wainwright III to end it off. Well done , Daniel
Loved Hasbara Twist. Can't wait fr the album!
Daniel -- you need to do your own separate music video for that awesome song!
“Au Revoir Les Enfants” was SO sad. Ugh.
❤❤❤ love it
Moral is passé. Can you bring the joy like the DNC, but much more morally of course?
Matt's 911 joke I see you Dogg
Some of us were always "anti-AOC", as you put it, because we only have to see something hundreds of times before we get it. When a politician has a platform, those are the things they are lying to you about valuing. They find it beneficial, because believers keep believing them, which maintains their social status. It's a good reason to be "anti" any politician.
Congratulations this logic taken to its conclusion will result in nothing being done
But whine more
@@jds614 what "nothing" being done? The same nothing that gets done now, or a different nothing? Congratulations on using faith instead of logic, even while pretending you can follow logic to its conclusion.
Funny how you call it whining when I point out reality - sounds like you don't like reality, & won't accept it, instead choosing to believe voting will "get something done", I guess? But believe more; it's working so well for us.👍
Do you know how happy I was when I discovered that Jess Salomon was an Arab Jew 😍😍
The stand up show in Chicago was awesome. I was happy to introduce an audience of Americans to the conspiracy theory that Trudeau is Fidel Castro’s kid. A chorus of “wtf” is what I generally look for in response to everything I say.
I made this comment before hearing you both rap.
Very good. Let's have Sammy Obeid back sometime 😊
Jess is darling. And I enjoyed the hasbara twist. Very clever, dear Daniel. I like how tickled Matt gets 😅
The very existence of apologetics gives the game away. The truth generally speaks for itself.
In Green Lantern comics, the appearance of male Guardians of the Universe was basically "what if David Ben-Gurion was blue." So the Ewok coding isn't that far off.
Stolen pallor!👏👏👏 Bob Dylan brilliant
Daniel can almost play competent ragtime. I'm impressed.
❤
Any chance of inviting mehdi hasan as a guest on to your show ?
Bassem Youssef? 🤞

Great twist piece 😝
should have asked her about Anthony Housefather in montreal.
that guy just got rewarded....and in roughly in the weeks around that....said Michael Rappaport was a HERO
Neil Degrasse Tyson (I may have misspelled his name) has a whole talk on how "the Muslims" compared to "the Jews" have hardly any Nobel prizes. I think it's in his talk about the naming of the stars and astronomy. It is, I believe, on how Muslims were once "advanced" and how one person basically changed the trajectory of Islam. It was, at its core, a very problematic talk.
The fucking obsession with the Nobel prize, man. So absurd.
Neil Degrasse Tyson an ultracrepidarian? Surely not!
@@Mere_Puffery hey, thanks for the word. I'll definitely use it.
This American learned that the Brits kicked our butts.
With all the musical talent at the DNC, why did’t they book Daniel? I would have loved to have seen & heard this in the Big Tent!
