This is the channel I need. Step by step instructions with measurements provided. Also simple enough that I can feel confident to do it. Thank you!
You know, for a little more money, those would look SO COOL as epoxy shutters and bring some pizazz to the house! What a really AWESOME idea! Thanks again Rehab life--Your projects ROCK!
I've seen this on an apartment build . it was beige and the shutters were an off blue color ( low tune ) and it was very nice . it really accented the building .
Just made some for my recent flip house. Thanks for the techniques!
Thank you guys! You two (three!) have turned me into a craftsman. Only thing better than this video is the Johnny Dangerously reference about sniffing glue!!!
Awesome job. And loved the "Airplane" quote.
good job making them, It adds a nice touch to the house
Love this soo much. My husband and I acutally made us some cedar shutter's and added a cedar wrap post. After the inspiriation of this video. We love it and the neighbor's do too.
Pretty cool shutters. Nice build, flow, video. Thanks for posting. I just need to find somewhere that needs some shutters....
Those unpainted shutters add a nice touch. I like them unpainted. Keep up the good work guys!.
I'm making cedar shutters for my weekend home improvement project right now!😁
Awesome.
How did you screw them on the siding? Do you use the same type of screws or different ones?
I just love y'all so much information for someone looking for an answer to improve on there house thanks so much
Oh thanks so much!
Awesome thanks for letting us enjoy it.
Cool. I make a variety of these. Those are the simplest ones. Very quick to make. So many options with these. Nice video.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome and adorable at the same time!!

Love the vids, keep them coming!
Thanks!
Great Vid! Keep em coming.
I like the color it changed to when she sprayed on the waterproofer.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing 😍
That was FN awesome!
Are the screws visible? And what screws you use to install on house?
So what screws and length did you use to attach to the house?
Clearly this person does not answer questions. I asked as well
And how do these shutters latch open & closed? Or are they just decorative nonfunctional window accents?
Nice build
Love the videos!! How did you screw the shutters into the cladding?
Excelente 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
lol, love the airplane reference. Use it all the time at the office.
Do you have a website or an article describing, how you started flipping houses and how/where to start?
Thank you 🙏 for sharing !
Excelente
Muito bom manda. mais
I love you guys! So happy I found you! 🙏🏽
What did you use to screw it in? Exterior screws or? Last question,lol....where did you put your screws
Ever get this figured out? I can't get this answered anywhere. I've got hardiboard exterior with plywood behind it.
I love these DIY videos can you do a video on how to rebuild or upgrade your wood fence Please 🥺🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽. Thank you guys
Amazing! Thank you for sharing the idea!
Thanks for watching!
From what store or places you guys get your wood material?
could you please do a video for me on fireplace mantel I would love to build one for my house
Shes definitely a keeper
Not hard to cut 10 pieces of wood and glue it 🤔
How did you install them without the screws showing?
They definitely look like 30 minute shutters! Great job!
Great project. How is the remodel on house?
Thanks! The one pictured here with the shutters is done and on the market! Our Kenny Park house is probably another month out...
She has a beautiful smile! Like how she smiled after each advancement!
Can you paint before you waterproof it?
How do you screw them into brick?
Super cool doggie !
Tight bond 2 is not water resistant. You should have used tight bond 3.
Actually it is.not waterproof like titebond 3 but will work fine
You wanna cheap out on something as dumb as glue, be my guest.
@@riccivigno458 read the label before calling people dumbass you scmuck
Except for the spray can paint, ( not a fan of those )pretty nice.
Lmfaooooo @ looks like i picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. Airplane was friggen comical!
NICE WORK GAL!!! YOU GUYS OWE ME A SPICE RACK LOL, JK.

You place the crosspiece with a 6" overhang on 60" shutter. Does that mean it would b e a 7" overhang on a 70" shutter?
I am a widow with with no one to ask this question. I want to make a queen headboard
(extremely simple) of wood and frame it with a trim. I can get the board (or boards) cut and I could take it from there. Could you please do a video on this and how you attach it to the frame. I'm not completely unaware of how to do this, I just need some guidance. Thank you so much. I love to see your videos.
linda dodson - they have a video for a $20.00 rustic headboard. Here's a link to cut and paste into your browser address bar. You can also do a search on their You Tube channel if the link doesn't work:

Nice video! What do you do with all the stuff you make? Do you keep it or do you flip houses? I’m not familiar with your background. Thanks
We flip houses! Some of the stuff we keep, some we give away to friends or family, and some we use in our flips (like these shutters)!
The Rehab Life
That’s fantastic! I’m extremely envious! I’m looking at getting into flipping but it isn’t easy. Definitely not as easy as they make it look on TV or as people think it is!
Anyways hope you have continuous success and I’m a new subscriber and fan! Keep up the awesome work!
Looking great! How did you attach them to the house with the vinyl siding??
Thanks! We predrilled holes through the shutters and siding and used longer trim head screws to attach...
How do you get 2 equal 60” pieces from a 120” board with the kerf of the saw?
Love the dog. Love the step-by-step video. Bought cedar wood and now going to try my hands at building shutters. Thank you
Why not make them working shutter?
You didn’t show the most important part- 😏😏SCREWING then in😜
Yes this is what I'm looking for as well. I don't want the screws to be visable
Same issue!
Terrible they won’t even reply to you guys how they did it. WTF!?
I’m wondering how they screwed them on the siding. That’s such an important step to show.
Didn't reply to most of the comments 🤔
Forget the Thompson's unless you want to redo every few months... try something like a good stain... or the that Australian Timber Oil.
Thank you i will follow you step by step to build my chicken coop shutters.
Love it!
I want mine to close and open.
Would I then divide the width of my window in half for the measurements of each shutter?
Yup, you would need at least half on each side
What length screws did you use to attach to house?
Oof I can't remember, maybe 3"?
good
Are they 3in or 4in boards? Wasnt mentioned
Doggo looks at camera man and thinks "why do you let her do this to me"? Lol
How do you screw this into brick?
I would use a masonry bit and add anchors or masonry screws.
I would love to make windows shutters to 1927 Weimar Reich windows in my house.
I find it odd to see you working off the floor. They make cool portable stand for miter saw (with sliding supports and stops for repeat cuts), your back will thank you in the morning! Got a Ryobi universal stand on sale at HD, works great with my Dewalt.
Nice project, Thanks!
That's Rehab alright!
Shutters are decorative only?
Yup...
Guys, what was the soundtrack in this video? 😊
It's Melodic Hip Hop by Micrah
Shutters should appear like they are able to close the entire window when closed. Even when installing fake shutters proportionally not only does it look better but, at least in appearance it looks like it can achieve what it was Intended for, to shut the window completely when closed.
Je veux que tu fait un didicase a ma chaine hayati fi bayti je suis de maroc merci est jaime boucoup baravo
The smiles after every step 😒
Did you mean fake shutters?
Off topic.. how do you get your teeth so white? Any teeth whitening products??
Haha nope!
Sad, watched it specifically to find out how to attach to the house without screws showing and that's the one thing they DIDN'T show! :(
How did you make sure they were squared up? Did you sink the screws and wood fill? I think your film is good and easy to follow but some key parts are missing. Also not sure if its a USA thing but i feel the shutters should fit the window. These were not wide enough. Instantly look faux which i hate. I would love to see them close or at least look like they do? With nice cast iron fixings. Will subscribe though as you did not annoy me one bit like most.
Baravo
I also like to sniff my woodglue lol
After you build, we have video instruction on how to install exterior shutters. Come take a look. czcams.com/video/0ZfKWXOjCUI/video.html
After stopping the video, it looks like they screwed them in all 4 corners of the shutters and you can see the screws
Are these heavy?
so cedar is a softwood and light
These are not shutters. This is just a decoration.
Shutters should always be half the window width even if they're just fake ones.
Try to buy some that meet your rule and then look at 99.9 percent of the houses out there. Good luck. I actually agree that should be the case if you expect them to look like functional shutters, but this would not work on double windows very well. They would be giant faux shutters. 12 and 14 inch is most common and they are almost all just decorations that make no real sense if you think they need to look like a functional shutter. Your idea is not reality or feasible in most cases. I struggle with this as well. Just drive around and look at houses and you will see all kinds of whacky shutter installs.
??????
the man (using that term loosely) is taking the video.
Airplane
Is there a good time to quit sniffing glue?
I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
First off there too long and not wide enough.
Do they close?
Does it look like they close?
@@mikebradford7780 great, storm shutters that don't work, what's the point?
@@brucemorris1028 they are not storm shutters, they are decorative shutters. Like decorative brick on the front facing of the home.
I did it too. This is what I used Woodglut designs for
Nothing dumber than non functional window shutters
Nothing dumber than someone like you who clicks on the video and then complains.
What's up with the dog? Little weird
Can i get the Honey to come help me build them?....
She is obviously more manly than yourself.
@@mikebradford7780 was anybody talking to you numnuts?
Dude or dudette
You are model has no eye protections
Nice shutters ... to make them look "correct", though, each shutter should be 1/2 the width of the window. Even though they are just aesthetic, making them 1/2 the width of the window makes keeps the look right.
The goal of our channel is to make projects accessible to everyone. Making them exactly half the width of any given window would involve ripping down boards, which we try to avoid in our tutorials when possible.
The Rehab Life I don't really understand how making them the correct size would have taken away from your video. At a minimum, explaining how to determine the correct size for any window would be helpful. Otherwise you'll have your followers running out duplicating your results and achieving less than desirable outcomes.
You are correct cams2705....I'll add that the shutters should also only be the height of the interior "jam" of the window. Even though they are not functioning shutters, in order to do them correctly they should give the appearance of being functional....that would mean if you were able to actually close them, they would actually fit in the window. Nice production on the video though Rehab Life...simple and informative.
You can't. What about your double windows. The faux shutter would be 3 foot wide on each side LOL. Also in many cases there is not enough room between the shutter and a corner or depth of house transitions, railing etc. That would look silly. Everyone knows these are just decorations. 99 percent of houses out there with shutters do not follow your made up rule. That would just be for truly operational shutters. Most are 12 or 14 inch wide decorations. It is wierd that fake shutters adorn most houses, but that's the way it is. They look very plain without them.
Woodprix has very good designs and plans.
I don't understand why people don't understand the purpose of shutters. They are meant to be made as if they would cover the windows, if they were real shutters, you do know what shutters are, I hope. If you do what is shown in the thumbnail, your house is going to look dumb.
Wrong kiddo.
