There are sooo many references and easter eggs in this one. There is a grave with her Pen name for the song she wrote for Calvin Harris after she broke up with him. Then she says "tilted stage" and kanye had a tilted stage at his concert, the snakes are because Kim K called her a snake after she edited the video and made Taylor look like a liar (this is before the unedited full clip which showed Kim was actually lying and Taylor wasn't) but the whole snake narrative is about this. The feast reference and grammy are for Katy Perry because they had beef at the time. The old Taylors are for the media and how they portray her in the negative always so she says the old Taylor is dead and the new one adopts the Rep persona. References to Karma the lost album in the actual vault when she broke in, its loaded with many more.

Thanks for reacting to this one and keeping it honest. In my opinion, Swifties enjoyed this video in the context of not seeing her for a year, after she had been attacked by Kim, Kanye and Calvin and the *massive* storm that followed on (social) media. Lyrics wise I don't think this is her best.
This is her comeback after disappearing after the Kanye and Kim phone call entrapment which turned out to be the last straw. I love it for what it is and what it represents but it is not on my constant replay list. Understanding the why of it is essential to be able to enjoy it as she possibly intended. This is a track with a purpose. Also, you’re not obligated to like every song of hers.
Definitely not my favorite either, but I do like her live performances of it and I respect everything that went into the video, especially the end of it. I prefer reactors who are honest, yet respectful!!! You are that, for sure, and I appreciate that!
