  • #ArianaGrande and #JennetteMcCurdy have been "friends" for a long time... They once worked on the show #SamandCat and during this time Nickelodeon pushed them to the edge. The media pitted these two stars against each other and their friendship was OVER. Was Jennette jealous of Ariana? Or did Ariana screw over Jennette? Let's get into it.

i think that ariana might’ve had an easier time during her nickelodeon days than jennette since she didn’t have the pressure to support her entire family or have a mother who was trying to live through her.

She was also a big star. Her and Victoria Justice probably had the easiest time compared to the other cast members. Jeannette was big too but Ariana was on Broadway and Victoria was on Zoey 101. They also had Avan, Leon and Matthew protecting them (it's seen in videos). Meanwhile, Jeannette always kind of had to protect herself. I don't know if Miranda, Nathan or any other cast members ever stood up for her but I don't think so.

As a fan of Ariana, I do understand Jennette’s frustration for being compared to Ari all the time, for being promised her own show thinking that she’ll have her moment to shine only to have Nickelodeon’s favourite brought in last minute. I feel like Jen was “the ugly duckling” constantly kicked in the back while Ari was the favourite, always compliant to everything. While there’s no denying that with her diva attitude like Lea Michele (and not the good kind where it’s funny like with Miss Piggy because they’re actually serious about it with their racism and misandry), she treated both Victoria and (especially) Jennette (whom in a couple 2010s parodies were joined together like in one of PopToonsTV’s “Mean Queens” as Victoria Buttsniff and Jennette McDirty (if anything, it was Jamie Lynn who should’ve been demonized) and Bart Baker’s “Love Me Harder” parody (let’s just face it. LMH was just made for Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez to have a catfight for The Weeknd’s affections which is all just fake) unfairly by teaming up with Dan Schneider to shut her down even though she had it the hardest because she was the outcast on set and on social media, I actually think that, as much as I hate to say it and like other Nickelodeon girls, Victoria was, while not quite up to the same extent and in the late 2000s - early 2010s, like Ariana herself. Like Jamie, she didn’t apologize to Alexa Nikolas for making Zoey 101 as (or even more) toxic on set as it was as a show to make Jamie look good by doing the worst things Jennette would likely be assassinated for doing like acting like a brat. That and Dan Schneider spoiled Victoria by not letting anyone else on Victorious be the leader of the show (except for Liz Gillies, whom like Amanda Bynes, owes SL04N an apology for threatening to kill him just because he tried to protect their ungrateful asses. Nickelodeon, amirite? What does it have that SL04N (even with problems of his own) doesn’t?).

I also feel like something that isn't talked about enough is the damage that playing these characters does to these young people's minds and how that can manifest itself in their real life relationships. Jennette has talked about how playing Sam, a loud, angry, violent character that is obsessed with food was super damaging to her and contributed heavily to developing an eating disorder. I have to imagine that constantly playing a character like that, feeling like that IS you, and then seeing Ariana's character being the perfect, successful one that everyone loves was really difficult for someone that young.
I can see how if you were struggling with your own identity and identifying too heavily with a character that you have been playing for some of your most formative years, that could end up breeding REAL resentment towards the person who seems like they "have it all". Add on top of all of that the fact that the media (and very likely even the producers of the shows they were on) were constantly putting the two girls "up against" each other. If there was any resentment there on either side, it was almost certainly cultivated from all of those outside factors rather than anything either of the girls actually did to each other.

I can totally understand why she went to work after less than a week from her mom's passing. I'm lower class working retail and we see that all the time bc its just so hard to be alone with your thoughts it's easier to just focus on work. If I had the money to stay home for a while I still might choose to go to work instead just so I'm not stuck in my head. Especially when the relationship wasn't the best to begin with

      often happens to those
      who understand a lot. It's
      the world's saddest form
      of punishment. Ariana is

      savvy. Ariana is loving, but
      Ariana is surrounded by
      those who falsely love.
      Ariana is still loving. Ariana

I’m not a big fan of Ariana idk how she’s gotten the pass so many times for her racial “ambiguity” in other words her make up and styling. On top of that like yeah her voice is amazing but she’s not a writer or a creative she’s an entertainer. She bent into Nick’s submission and never complained and ate all that nasty attention from Dan up which in my opinion is why she got her crack at fame unlike Jeanette. The industry doesn’t like people who have dignity and self respect but they love people who keep their PRETTY mouths shut. None of us know Ariana on a personal level she doesn’t really allow people to know much about her. It’s not surprising to me that someone had a negatively authentic experience with someone we know very little about on a personal level. Jeanette is extremely honest, forth coming and Raw human and exactly what we need to see in the media. I am extremely inclined to believe what Jeanette has had to say about a celebrity we are very far removed from. Also it’s really important for us not to echo the sentiments from nick about Jeanettes decision making a decade ago. Even then she was an adult who had been taking care of herself and adult mother the majority of her life so they’re hot take on her behavior shouldn’t be reiterated in my opinion. If it is I think we should go out of our way to let it be known that we do not agree.

I have always felt that at the same time a lot of good things were happening for Ariana (burgeoning music career, success on a Nickelodeon show, etc.) a lot of bad things were happening for Jennette (the death of her mother, with whom she had a very complicated relationship, leaked personal photos, a bad breakup) and Jennette took a lot of that out on Ariana. Ariana probably didn't know the extent of the things Jennette was dealing internally with or how to help her out. I can't speak to the salary difference but Ariana probably was making more than Jennette if she was doing everything else for her music in addition to her work on Sam & Cat, whereas it seems like Jennette was just getting paid for Sam & Cat. Now that they are both older and have accomplished more in their lives, perhaps now the two of them can understand what each other was going through at that time. Maybe now Ariana can understand why Jennette was acting the way she did with everything Jennette has said on her podcast about her mother and her family, her childhood, her ED, her addictions, and the difficulties of being a child star. Still, it seems like this is yet another case of the industry pitting two beautiful, talented young women against each other and seeing who will come out on top in the end. Hopefully now, they can put their past behind them and continue on with their lives.

I've always felt like I could relate with Jennette McCurdy, her personality, her back story, I mean, I even have hair like hers😂 but regardless, she's a beacon of light and I admire her for being true to herself as she's grown as a person

These people are the same people who act like if we hate Ariana Grande, we’re just a bunch of jealous lowlifes who think that she can’t make mistakes even though they know her wisdom teeth removed isn’t a justification for licking doughnuts and letting people get sick and/or die from her germs. This could have easily been forgiven if she gave a genuine apology as the overpaid young woman she is, but nope! It’s as real as any other celebrity who turns out to be a bad person whom only real haters say we’re just jealous of while tearing down any better person like Dwayne Johnson as if he were some misogynistic douchebag for starring in the Fast & Furious films even though (coming from a big fan of these movies) Bayformers also sexualized women, but TRULY in the most objectifying way possible while having a douchebag “hero” (Sam Witwicky, before Cade Yeager and Charlie Watson) whom we were supposed to like yet he treated robots like property instead of kings and queens just like he did with women!

I don't know if this was the point, but my main takeaway was how much I respect them both for addressing mental health to the public. It sends a very valuable message to a younger demographic not to be ashamed of the struggles that come with mental health. Love your channel! For example, when I think of Nickelodeon, I think of the potential that Paola Andino left the studio because they were bullying her and the rest of the Every Witch Way cast or she was a never-mentioned bully like her character Emma Alonso (she seems down to earth and like I said just now, I never see any exposure or evidence of her as a bad person, but sadly, at least for now, EWW (I love the initials to describe this and the rest of Nick’s shows) has always been the only thing she was best known for. At least Nick Merico at least had a CZcams channel with great songs like It’s Always You (for example), so he was the only one who had more than just this show that cast him as a bully that makes Mason Greyback look like Michael J. Fox (static.wikia.nocookie.net/pacman/images/d/df/Images-2.jpeg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/250?cb=20181104232912) that’s overrated by toxic Arianators who think “YOU’RE JUST JUST JEALOUS, SO STOP DEFENDING JENNETTE!!!!!! Ariana Grande from 2010-2015: Where’s YOUR dignity, respect, gratitude and success, Jennette? You’re just jealous that Dan loves ME more!
Ariana in 2017-beyond (and btw, this is mainly just a prediction, I could erase it anytime I want): Well, I was younger when I did all those bad things in the past like make Jennette look like a poor man’s version of me, break up with men as if all of them were misogynistic POSs and lick donuts. And I’m not saying that to justify my negative actions after doing kind things from time to time. It’s just an explanation, but yeah, while I’m now on good terms with Jennette, I should still be more real like her instead of pretend to be African then Asian then maybe even Indigenous then Indian (different meanings).
Yeah, no matter what terrible, unforgivable things I say about a so-called “queen” by many anti-McCurdians that call her “peasant” as if lower-class people were bullies and no matter how fake I think her apology was, deep down inside, there always has been this part of me that actually wants her to become a better person, gives her credit where credit is due and thinks maybe even in the 1990s - 2000s, she wasn’t so bad until Nickelodeon and her parents influenced her to be that way (and yet Arianators also tell us we’re jealous of her family as well even though Joan, her mom, controlled her and made me wish the best for her son in law, Dalton Gomez, who is not a brother of Selena Gomez, btw).
Btw, my haters who also hate on poor Jennette in favour of Dan Schneider are just jealous of the king (which is me) as opposed to the people that were kind enough to upvote my comment!

They were originally friends when the show started. They were would go eachothers houses, have sleepovers, take videos and photos together and said they were best friends. They were best friends at the beginning but all that stuff and the network pitting them up against eachother and stuff caused Jennette to not like Ari anymore, and caused drama. I was sad when I foundout they weren't friends anymore and started fighting. I think they would've been good friends if that stuff didn't happen. I agree with you 100% on what you said about Jennette and definitely how Nickelodeon PLAYED the shit out of her for sure as far as her acting career. Cuz come to think about it, she was actually too big of a star for her role in iCarly which I THINK is why the show Sam&Cat really came about... I THINK the show was "supposed" to originally be called 'Sam' and also it was supposed to be just for Jennette but Ariana's fame was coming in at a Super Fast Pace so Nickelodeon hoped that with Ariana's fame rising and Jennette already up there (as far as Nickelodeon stardom)would do SUPER GREAT as far as views for a "brand new show" coming soon. They just threw them 2 together not realizing Ariana's success & fame was going to bypass Jennette and there show unfortunately but hoping for a great show. With Ariana's Super High Rise to fame & Jennette's lows coming in at the same time... the outcome clearly sucked for Jennette..and honestly Ariana stole Jennette's spotlight (accidentally).. but instead of having Jennette's character in the show take a back seat ... they should have put Ariana's character on the back seat and let Jennette be the star SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! She probably would've handled her low points in life ALOT BETTER then how she did seeing as how Nickelodeon/DanThe ScumBag made it very clear how much they really didn't give a shit about her or what she was currently going through cause they had Ariana now..whenever she was around and available. So yea... I don't blame Jennette AT ALL about how she was acting and doing the shit she was doing cause hell.. look at how they treated her. If ya ask me, she definitely handled that bs ALOT BETTER then Most Nick Stars have in the past honestly.

Jennette is the queen, Sam went to jail for beating up men and licking donuts!

this is so sad, especially because ariana and jeanette were great friends after the victorious/icarly crossover (jeanette makes it sound like they weren't, but you can find videos of them together on youtube), that's how the idea for sam and cat even happened. and their friendship breakup was so upsetting to see. you cant get angry towards jeanette because of everything she was going through at the time, but I definitely think her bitterness and jealousy of ariana's success and happiness while jeanette was going through so many traumatic things shows. it doesn't sound to me like ariana personally did something wrong, but that circumstances didn't allow for this friendship to thrive.

Jennette talked trash about Ariana, and none of it it's true!
They were great friends!!! You can actually find videos of them hanging out, instagram posts, tweets, etc. Even Jennette wrote this for Ari:
      Ariana is beautiful. Ariana
      is often misunderstood, as
      often happens to those
      who understand a lot. It's
      the world's saddest form
      of punishment. Ariana is
      quiet inside but she talks
      so you won't know it.
Ariana is curious and full of
wonder as much as she is
      opinionated and full of
      opinion. Ariana is beautiful.
      Ariana is made happy by
      the same things she is
      made sad by. Ariana is
      savvy. Ariana is loving, but
      Ariana is surrounded by
      those who falsely love.
      Ariana is still loving. Ariana
      is beautiful.
Sadly Jennettes pain turned into jealously and that destroyed their friendship, I bet ariana was heartbroken at the time and now Jennette regrets it.

@@imaginess9732 My tea has been steeping and it’s too hot to not spill.
I want to preface with I am truly the biggest Ariana fan out there! (Quiz me Betch lol)
Which is the reason I’ve been able to observe and come to my (humble) opinion:
Ari (talented, gorgeous, vocalist of our generation) is in fact very self centered and a big diva. (I’m a diva too, so it takes one to know one. It’s not a negative word. Go play Beyoncé’s song)
Anyway, Mrs.Ari has constantly had tension with most of her female co-stars/colleagues!!
      Examples include:
1.) Victoria on Victorious. Ariana did an interview said she was picked on by some gal on the set. The public for years assumed it was Victoria. Brining V so much hate. (Ari never clarified nor defended that it wasn’t Victoria for years after)
2.) Jennette McCurdy on Sam&Cat. I can only speculate that Ariana again loved being the center of attention. Was definitely favored and payed much more. Which isn’t her fault but as much as a feminist as she claims to be, she totally could have looked out for her costar and tied both their pay together. (Male actors have done this for their females cast mates for them to get better pay)
3.) Abigail Breslin on Scream Queens. Don’t know what happened here. But these two had major issues with one another.
Okay rant somewhat over. I love her and know she’s no angel. We all have our flaws.
