    If you have a bad compressor on your mx13 consider having it rebuilt by Walker air brakes in Ontario CA. They can make it better than oem for under $800 dollars. You will have to remove your old compressor and either send it to them for rebuild or drop it off.

    I saw your video on excessive coolant pressure. I assume you are changing the compressor because of that. Did it correct the coolant pressure problem? I also have a 2019 T880 with the same problem. Preformed combustion gas test to rule out head gasket and egr. Getting ready to change the compressor tomorrow, thx for the video, definitely picked up some much needed tips on the process.
    For those that were asking about changing just the head. That was my plan initially. 1 the head is 900.00, vs 1200 for the entire compressor, 2 the head is on national back order, so Kenworth had to list it as a “ truck down for me to even get it”. When I took the head off today, there was oil and coolant in the cylinder. While changing the head is much easier, I am electing to change the entire compressor, it doesn’t make sense to put a 900 dollar head on the old compressor only to have it fail or not correct the coolant pressure problem, then im out the 900, plus the 1200 for the new compressor, plus additional downtime.
    Also if anyone is changing the head, be sure to go on Wabcos website and get the procedure for torquing the head bolts, it is very specific and they advised the head gasket will fail if the procedures are not followed. I will update on whether the compressor corrects my coolant pressure issue.
    Update: the compressor did correct the problem

      @dentrizzle  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I did change the entire compressor and my issue was resolved. I could have changed the head only but I opted to just get a new unit so I could sleep good at night without worrying about it if I didn’t rebuild it right or get it rebuilt right plus I wanted to avoid the excess downtime too.

    How to know is damage, my mechanic toll me is bad because my long hose go to air driver is leaking and check inside and have a carbon inside the hose and that is bad symptoms for air compressor he toll me 😢😢

    • @dentrizzle
      @dentrizzle  Před 7 měsíci +2

      He correct somewhat because in the video I explained to check if there is coolant in that air hose you mentioned which mine did, so that is also apart of the diagnosis. He’s correct because that hot coolant will eat that line up cuz I had to replace that hose. What I realise is if you can catch a fault early you can prevent breaking other parts. Unfortunately I learned that too late and most time dealerships themselves won’t check either. Thank you for watching. Just Keep Trucking!!!

    That yellow (O) ring on the compressor, does it hold back motor oil? I’m trying to see where I’m leaking oil from in that area.

    • @lucasreyes5087
      @lucasreyes5087 Před 5 měsíci +1

      The yellow seal that sits in the rear of compressor, if that is dry rotten then you’ll most likely be leaking oil from there. We are in the process of having that swapped out.

    • @dentrizzle
      @dentrizzle  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The 1st time for me was always the longest cuz I have no mechanical experience but I would say about 3-4 hours making sure I didn’t break anything. If I’m to do it again it would be about 2 hours give or take cuz I know what tools I need and everything. Experience is a hell of a thing 👍👏

    What was wrong with the compressor and why change the whole thing instead of just the head? Or, have it bebuilt or get a kit to rebuild? Just curious.

    • @dentrizzle
      @dentrizzle  Před 2 měsíci +2

      So I went to the dealer for repairs and they were months out because of other jobs and I only have 1 truck and I had just gotten my MC. I knew it was only the head gasket that was bad and being I’m not really a mechanic I decide to replace the whole thing because I don’t mind spending back into the business and it’s a peace of mind knowing it’s a new part on it and it’s a write off anyways. The last one lasted for 700k miles and with it being new, it has potential to last another 700k, you get the drift 😅😁

    • @dentrizzle
      @dentrizzle  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Some may say I could save and rebuild it or replace the head but at the end of the day it was just a peace of mind for me to sleep and not worried that it might fail right away because it didnt get rebuild properly plus the warranty as well.

    • @CC-vr8wn
      @CC-vr8wn Před 2 měsíci +1

      I’m going through the same thing with the compressor. They don’t offer a aftermarket rebuild kit. I was going to change just the head but it is 900.00 and is on national back order, a new compressor is 1200. I think the days of repairing certain are gone by, they make everything now to just be thrown away and replaced
