The SCS is good for newbies. Many people who are new are told by shops to "just get a glock," and the SCS will allow you to use your regular glock sights without needing to replace them with taller ones. Don't have to worry about adapter plates or aftermarket sights
Rmsc footprint optics will fit on a slide cut for Holosun K footprint optics. Mounting a Holosun to an Rmsc cut slide will require an adapter plate or additional machining to the slide’s optics cut because of the extra recoil lugs and slight height difference in the front lugs between the two.
That is correct. We ran out of time so couldn't explain that. It is a fairly easy fix if the plate is plastic like the case for the Canik Mete. We just trim down the extra recoil lugs and slap the K footprint on.
If you have smaller EDC pistol with the Shield RMS footprint I also suggest the Vortex Defender CCW. I have a few of them and they’re awesome. Hold zero very well, top loading battery with long life, and honestly look cool too. For around $250 bucks it’s hard to beat. A lot of times it’s on sale for like $230 or so as well. I tell people about it alllll the time. Great red dot.
Have you ever seen a properly mointed optic on a USP .40? Been looking around but I've not yet found anything. Admittedly it hasn't been a super thorpugh search either. But i love my USP 40 and I don't think ill ever carry another gun as my EDC (been carrying her since i bought her back in 96, 10s of thousands of rounds through at the range and it still fires like a dream, but i wouldn't mind an optic on the old gal.
Rmsc and holosun k are not minorly different. Don't get tricked into thinking the 507k will fit on your shield without altering the footprint or using a plate.
Most important factors are durability, zero retention, and battery life (trustworthiness). Secondary considerations are enclosed or open emitter, edge to edge distortion, parallax, tint, and light transmission (performance). Last things to consider are button location and feel, reticle, reticle color, size, and window size (preferences). That’s my opinion anyway, from the perspective of someone looking at dots from a defensive use case. Other use cases (such as competition shooting) may prioritize those things differently.
I’m just wondering how do you conceal carry with an optic, like before you go into where ever your going do you turn the optic on and waste the battery or when your drawing your firearm do you turn it on
Mine is always on. Battery is a 2032, good for a couple of years according to the nomenclature and a zillion reviews on youtube. I swap the batteries in all my optics on my wedding anniversary, cheap insurance i figure. My Holosun, the primary arms version with the Vulcan reticle, which I cannot recommend highly enough, it's awesome, has a shake awake feature which let's it take a nap if the sensor doesn't detect movement for 10 minutes. I do mean "NO MOVEMENT" like sitting in your gun safe or similarly stable resting place. If it's on your body, in a holster, it's not gonna nap. It snaps awake instantly so even if you could have it holstered and asleep, before you could present the sights it would be back on at whatever brightness setting it was at before it went to sleep if on manual or at whichever brightness it determined required from its built in light meter if set to auto. Hope this helps.
What about Doctor cut. My PSA Dagger is doctor cut. I have a Burris T.M.P.S on my Rifle and it is also the Doctor Folt print. It also runs both Rifle optic and Red dot and laser off the T.M.P.S if i use the Burris Fastfire 3 on it. But my Cylee with the Doctor cut fits on my rifle Optic.
And this country is in the mess it’s in because it refuses to follow him and the Blueprint he has put forth to succeed. Your demonic comment is an example .
For the 43X you would be looking at the RMSC footprint. I think you may need to do some minor modifications to the screw length for the 407K/507K so that there aren't problems with the optic and extractor interfering with each other. Could also run a Sig Sauer Romeo Zero which is a budget optic, however if you have the money I would pick the Holosun over the Sig. We have seen off and on issues with the Sig handgun optics.
That would be the RMR footprint. Couldn't show all the optics that share that same footprint so we just picked the main ones that we utilize. The 508T is a great optic!
You could have showed what kind of sight picture those make instead of just showing the front. I'd hope that gun owners would care more about the functions than what they look like.
“The most common” aka: the cheaper ones everyone buys cuz nobody can afford “good” optics that cost as much (if not more) than the gun they’re putting it on! Hahaha
@@BlueDart1971 ya nothing special other than their arguably the most reliable firearms on the market that are the most versatile compatible guns out there that companies make tons of parts for. But if you don't like em that's cool lol
@@904duval8 they are no more reliable than lots of modern pistols. They used to be the most reliable but not anymore. The fanboys are the worst part of Glock. Today they are just another pistol that doesn’t feel good in the hand. Of course lots of manufacturers make parts for them. They are popular and it’s a smart business decision to make parts. It’s not because they are amazing. Glock becomes a good gun once you put on several aftermarket parts.
Can you tell a millimeter difference in a short like this? I can't. It also wouldn't help anyone unless they showed a schematic diagram showing screw and stud spacing patterns in a still image all aligned in a way to easily see the differences. At the end of the day, what you need to know is what the cut is called for the optic or gun you have.
This shit is so confusing and it's ridiculous that there's no real standardization. Ugh. Annoying! You have to do an hour of research to figure out what optic fits on your gun.
Please do a longer video on this topic for those of us who are new to the optic world.

I just shaved down the lil nubs on the footprint to fit
They come with everything you need to mount to a canik mc9 k or eps.
Thank you. Showing them together really made the difference for me . Thanks.

Multiple footprints is just dopey. This is an area where the entire industry should sit and settle on 1 footprint for all.
Facts but they all want their unique footprint but the one with a universal fitting will be king
You guys have the most helpful content. Keep up the good work
The "scs carry" fits on any Rmsc/K footprint, slapped it on my sig p365 comp macro... Other scs are gun specific (as he said in video 😅)
I ordered different screws ahead of time (slightly shorter) no adapter plate required.

all about the SRO.
Love my scs on my 45 mos
Great information!!!

My Holosun scs carry went on with no plate with some 3rd party screws (slightly shorter by a couple threads)
Would be nice if they sent the correct screws with these.
Which one will fit my Glock 19
Last night I was a short that had a small, blue dot that didn't have the tall housing. Now I can't seem to find it.
What can go staight on a 43x mos without having to do anything but screw it on ?
New to firearms here: what differentiates a good optic from a lesser one? For handguns at least.

I thought the SCS fits the M&P 2.0 and 2.0 metal or is that the same on the Glock so it fits both? Or just Glock
I buy non mos and have it milled for what I want
Docter footprint?

I carry the 407K and has a battery life of 50,000 hours at setting 6 so I just leave mine on constantly with the shake awake feature.

any sub $200 ones i could afford it but buying a $500 optic for all my guns gets expensive
Was there a mention of shake to wake?
Some of the older prism scopes have picitiny rail section for mounting a red dot on top. Are there any options that keep the dot reasonably low?
God damm i love America 🇺🇸🦅🔫

Can I put this on my Glock 19 gen 3?
What do plus and minus on side do??
My man stares at a picture of a Bear during his shaving sessions 😂💯✌
guessing there arent very many options for the noblex standard here in the states?
Yea doctor cuts/noblex optics ik of vortex venom Burris fire and hex dragon fly
If I'm on a budget which one should I pick out of all of them for a 43x?

The one areas that makes me fume these days! Ugghh
Suppressor. Not silencer. It doesn't nearly silence it.
The patent calls them a silencer, so, yes Hiram Maxim says you're wrong too.
*Also what the hell are you even talking about that for?

That's not what this video was about
Using a camera to show sight picture on a red dot is usually pointless. It usually comes across looking like a blown out 50 MOA sausage cake.
What are some good quality’s optics that aren’t $300 😂 I need something affordable but decent quality
I own a bushnell TRS-25, it is a rifle/shotgun optic, and for the price (less than $70) it does a pretty good job. Not a handgun optic though:/
Do we really need a site on a G26? For self defense? The laws for defending is about 15 feet......why would u need an optic?
“The most common” aka: the cheaper ones everyone buys cuz nobody can afford “good” optics that cost as much (if not more) than the gun they’re putting it on! Hahaha
A whole video about footprints and they didn't show a single footprint 😢
I will never own a Glock but good info.
Damn that sucks sorry to hear that
@@904duval8 I’m not. I despise Glock. There’s nothing special about them and they feel terrible in my hand.

Thanks for showing what millionaires buy, next time how about a primary arms ? Or something under $900.00
obviously a Holosung fanboy. Guess he thinks everyone has $300-$600 to spend on just an optic.
Way to not even show the footprints
